This last STRATEGY always worked. It was an advice given to me by the best MD I worked for in the late '80s. He had come into my room to have a ciggy. It began by him asking: " I passed by yesterday and I heard you and Ib (my immediate boss) raising your voices. What's up?"
My reply: "I have made all the justifications to get an extra computer for my people in the department, but Ib has repeatedly vetoed it. I have the budget. I need his signature." The MD asked: "If my signature is valid, go get the damn thing. It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission." I purchased a Mac for my boys. Hell broke loose when Ib came back from an oversea's conference. "Sorry Ib" and we lived happily ever after. That word SORRY does have such prodigious POWER.
SEE YOU GUYS TOMORROW BEFORE 9:00AM AT JALAN DUTA'S COURT COMPLEX.
