In an earlier post today I posed a question at the end of the post:
QUESTION: SHOULD PAK LAH ABANDON SHIP. HE HAS UNTIL 2013 TO PLUG THE SINKING SHIP AND PILOT IT SAFELY TO SAFE HARBOR, OR UNTIL A DECENT SUCCESSOR IS IDENTIFIED?
Allow me to rephrase the last part of the question….. primarily because looking for a DECENTone is an utopian venture into futulity as evidenced from the recent UMNO Assembly.....how the Putera UMNO guy get into the Supreme Council.....oopppsss I forgot he slipped thru the many cracks in UMNO. So the rephrase should read...... UNTIL HIS SUCCESSOR CAN UNBURDEN HIMSELF OF ALL THE ACCUSATIONS DIRECTED AT HIM.
Isn’t a good defencea good offense?
Shouldn’t Najib Do the RIGHT thing RIGHT the first time, and hopefully all the time?
What then?
KIM QUEK, Guest Columnist with THE CENTRE FOR POLICY INITIATIVE insist that Najib must be Screened by a Royal Commission of Inquiry.

9 members of the Special Bunch had to get back to KL. They hold jobs like everybody else. They sacrificed their weekend to lend support to PR. THANK YOU Boom, Rodi, Duke, Shah, Nanda, Danny, Gus, Mila, and Joni Ariff. They contributed immensely and have been a superlative support ...they are the SPECIAL BUNCH. They will be back in Taiping for the home stretch, coming into the straight. Haris and I remain, but he too will have to be in court tomorrow.
After Haris left at 1:00pm and internet access was in the pits....I thought I will walk over to Restaurant Kakak, Ah Lan chair's for a never-to-be-missed cheng-tong for lunch. My PAS UNTUK SEMUA cap and ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA tee invited some quizzical stares. I don't blame them Taiping folks....they are generally peaceful, non-confrontational, and even if they are anti-establishment, they dont wear it on their sleeves. But not Taiping guys who have migrated out. It was a group two tables away who invited me over to ther table.....they are all working in KL and back to vote in Bukit Gantang.....Samuel, Velu, Taik, Suan, Chaik. They will of course give their vote to Nizar but they asked me this probing question that Haris and I talked about until the wee hours last evening: WILL PAK LAH GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS AN IRRESPONSIBLE PRIME MINISTER?
I am blogging from a computer shop AI COMPUTER, below our hotel, as access upstairs is still erratic. I dedicate this to the second table:
Usually it is the rats who will abandon ship when they sense that the ship is floundering. Then it is the other sailors, on orders, will abandon ship, with or without life-boats or life-vests.No captain of a ship, worth his salt, will abandon his ship in distress. Even buccaneer sea-captains hold on to this tradition of “sink or swim” but only after everybody has abandoned ship!
Tengku Abdul Rahman gave way to his successor, Hussein Onn gave passage to Tun Dr Mahathir who in turn wrapped the mantle over Pak Lah. All successors were proven credible to take on the mantle of premiership. All resigned before the end of their tenure for one reason or other. But all of them made sure that their successors were men of proven calibre.
Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi is said to hand over the Premiership to the new President of UMNO. Can he? Would he? Should he? He can and would if of his own volition. He should not if he is forced. He is the sitting Prime Minister. He cannot abandon his post unless forced by debilitating circumstances. It would be irresponsible and cowardly if he gave up the premiership under pressure.
Was he pressured?
Wasn’t he publicly arm-twisted by the newly elected Deputy Prime Minister? Others, the usual CYA crowd suddenly got courageous, removed their protective hands from their ass, plucked up some adolescent bravado and screamed for Pak Lah to speed up his resignation.
In sea-faring parlance, this is called Mutiny.
Is the Prime Minister a victim of a Mutiny?
Was there Mutiny onKD Malaysia?
Mutineers are either hanged from the mast or made to walk the plank.
QUESTION: SHOULD PAK LAH ABANDON SHIP. HE HAS UNTIL 2013 TO PLUG THE SINKING SHIP AND PILOT IT SAFELY TO SAFE HARBOR, OR UNTIL A DECENT SUCCESSOR IS IDENTIFIED?
ANWER: Later today….when internet access improves…..
The Special Bunch joined YB and the future MP of Bukit Gantang, Dr Nizar in a Port Weld walk-about. To me Port Weld is Port Weld although someone in an immature attempt to Malaysianised the town, flushed history into oblivion and renamed this quaint little town Kuala Sepatang.
History? Damn! Port Weld was the first port in the country! If you do not believe me, it will not bother me, because you ain't from Taiping.
History? The first railway line layed was from Taiping to Port Weld? If you do not believe me, then I have no time for ignoramuses!
History? A bull elephant either in musk or felt treathened that something bigger than itself invaded his territory, that it took the train head-on. The train got derailed and the skull of that bull, now in the Taiping Museum, continue to remind us of how he stood his ground when his territory was compromised. Now isn't this a good lesson for Perakians?
Stand your ground.
Do not allow anyone to usurp the government you voted in.
This morning, Johnny Chuat, an Iban blogger and publisher of an Iban magazine, who entererd the nomination centre at about 9am failed to submit his papers as an independent.
Coming out of the centre, he wore a PKR shirt and met his supporters, telling them to support Jawah Gerang.
Late last week Jawah’s former BN colleague banded together and pledged support for him.
Broken Shield's Joe "Jetty" Tawei report posted today gives one the impression, that some TUAI RUMAH'S, long in the strangle-hold of Iban BN cronies of the TERMITE, is standing up and saying "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".
Joe's take:
A BN gathering at Kaong Joseph Entulu, PRS deputy president and Joseph Salang, PRS information chief, last night campaigned at Rumah Ambau, Kaong for their candidate Malcolm Mussen.
Like in any other longhouses, Tuai Rumah Ambau, while welcoming the two deputy ministers, called on his people not to vote for the BN candidate and told them why.
Several people tried to stop him talking, but he continued talking and repeated what he said “don’t vote for BN candidate.” The two deputy ministers were clearly not amused, but strong supporters of BN were stunned.
Others (perhaps PKR supporters) smiled. Even if the Tuai Rumah did not make a genuine mistake, the damage has been done.

more a slap in the face than a kick in the ass, yes?
