ON 25 NOVERMBER 2007 I WALKED ALONGSIDE THEM. TODAY IF NEEDS BE, I WILL DIE FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA.

TODAY marks the 500th day since Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar was impounded in Kem Kamunting compound. It is the god-given duty that parents who bring children into this world take care of their children. On a similar scale, the organization that legitimized themselves to take care of the Indian community failed pathetically (and was thus punished on 8 March 2008). However when some group stood up for the Indians, the avowed leaders looked the other way when their people were physically brutalised on 25 November 2007.

In my post of Nov 24 2997: Tomorrow I will walk alongside my Indian brother and sisters, I declared that my participation in this walk has got nothing, absolutely nothing to do with claiming compensation from the British Queen. It has got nothing to do with Hindraf. It has got nothing to do with being against the incumbent government. But it has everything to do with the marginalised Indians, Malays, and Chinese, especially the destitute and abject poor.

I also declared on 9 December 2007: FOR THESE DISADVANTAGED LOT THAT THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT HAS STIGMATISED, I WILL WALK AND POSSIBLY BE ARRESTED. BUT IT IS A SMALL THING THAT I CAN DO TO ALLEVIATE THE DARKNESS AND PRAYERFULLY HOPE THEY TOO CAN ENJOY THE MALAYSIAN SUN.




The day after the HINDRAF RALLY, 26 Nov. 2007 I ended my post thus:

YOU GASSED US,

YOU BATHED US IN CHEMICALLY-LACED JETS OF WATER,

YOU MAN-HANDLED AND ARRESTED OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
IF YOU WON YESTERDAY, JUST REMEMBER OUR DAY WILL COME, COME THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

THAT WILL BE OUR DAY!

We had our day on 8 March 2008
But we only won a battle.
Winning the war, means CHANGE
To achieve change, sacrifices have to be made.
Are we willing to make those sacrifices?
If needs be I will sacrifice my life for this change!
Because I belong to this group of multi-ethnic, multi-religious Malaysians
who call ourselves
ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA.

Tomorrow will be another wasted day (or is it?) until this Government totally abolish this black spec in the Malaysian soul. Until this is done, we will continue to remain on the wrong side of history, characteristically "shady" and leprous to the world.
