YESTERDAY, in my posting asking MAFREL to bare their fangs, I wrote: Conversations with army personnel, present and past have revealed that seldom or never have they voted as army personnel. Evidence is available where a voter voted under postal vote and on polling day he is in his home-town voting as a regular voter. Army personnel have two ID cards.

I am in no position to dispute Another Rakyat's comment.....I can only offer THE FLACID MIND'S posting.
He posted this to the former EC Chairman:
Dear Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Ab. Rashid Bin Ab. Rahman,
You as Chairman Election Commission of Malaysia, please explain this.
MAFREL (Malaysia for free and fair elections) is the only approved body to monitor elections in the country. They have done credible work. They have exposed how the Election Commission colluded with the BN to engineer suspicious wins for the latter. Their latest was when they questioned the 14 missing boxes at the Batang Ai by-elections and also why they were not allowed to accompany the ballot boxes ( votes were not counted at polling stations as is always the practice, but were transported to the counting centre.) PAS recent call to allow the soldiers to vote like regular voters will never see fruition.
This is an opportune time for MAFREL to really show teeth and STAND UP for fair and free elections. They must insist that they SUPERVISE the postal votings IN THE ARMY CAMP. They have sufficient time to work out the mechanics. But MAFREL must start NOW.
In 08 BN won by 2333 majority inspite the 5000 postal votes. Conversations with army personnel, present and past have revealed that seldom or never have they voted as army personnel. Evidence is available where a voter voted under postal vote and on polling day he is in his hgome-town voting as a regular voter. Army personnel have two ID cards.
MAFREL must also find out if all the 5000 army personnel are eleigible to vote in Bagan Pinang?
Show your fangs Mafrel. Don't let it be said that you are toothless.

In future postings we will gather evidence of postal voting abuses.
The more than 8,000kg of essential food for the hungry Penans living in the heart of Kapit Division in remote central Sarawak finally reached its destinations yesterday – after four days of dangerous and pains-taking journey across steep mountain roads and deep valleys, reported the Star.
Thankful: Lusong Laku’s Penan Settlement folk receiving the food aid sent by Father Ding (right) and other volunteers Wednesday.
Lusong Laku Penan chief Jati Jarang said he and his people were grateful to God and to the people of Malaysia for answering their appeals for help.
“For a month, we never have enough to eat. Many Penans from other areas also came here hoping for food. We do not have enough money to buy rice or cooking oil,” he said.
Asked why the food shortage had reached such serious levels, he said severe drought, crop failure and depleting forest resources had affected their livelihood.
I SALUTE THE STAR
The food were bought by church members using funds from kind-hearted donors from throughout the country after The Starhighlighted a plea from these Penans who had sought help from the church in Miri.
Last Saturday, I had LULU as my friday Guest Blogger as she featured the plight of the Penans. I added my 2 cens by suggesting that the Army could have helped with building a bridge and transporting food to the Penans.
That of course did not happen! Too much to spend for the Penans?
And glaringling missing from the scene were THE RED CRESCENT and MERCY MALAYSIA.
Will these bodies aid in distributing the remaining 1000 bags of rice, which Fr. Sylvester Ding said would have to be distributed in stages?
AND I ALWAYS THOUGHT CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME.
+++++
THANKS TO THESE ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA FOR BRINGING RELIEF TO THE PENANS: Reverend Father Sylvester Ding, Bakun community leader Penghulu Saging Bit, 12 volunteers from the Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysian Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and drivers from the Sungai Asap Resettlement Scheme and Shin Yang and Samling logging consortiums.
.......... and the other Anak Bangsa Malaysia who generously responded to the STAR;s appeal.
The content of my stomach flew out of my mouth onto the floor after reading Minister Hishamuddin's apparent defence of the cow-head demonstrators yesterday. Before I had finished wiping it out, I was hit by another nausea inducing curve ball in the form of Dato' Mukhriz' statement supporting Minister Hishamuddin's.
Apparently now an offence should not be prosecuted if such prosecution might cause "further unrest". Yes folk. It is the fasting month. Quite obviously, to certain Muslims, when food and drink are not consumed, blood circulation would be affected thus preventing the supply of oxygen to the brain. The result is calamitous. And not to mention rumbustiously funny.
Dato' Mukhriz must remember that when his father, Tun Mahathir charged Anwar Ibrahim for a cooked up offence circa 1997-98, 100,000 people came out on the street. What do you call that? Peace and tranquility? People resting? Or was that "unrest"? So, please answer this. Since when has an offence become un-prosecutable for fear of an unrest? No wonder that guy from Penang who called the Chinese and Indians "pendatang" was not charged. That would have caused unrest too, huh? I think I should speed up my invention of a talk cock eater.
But as event would have it, while I was spraying Febreeze on my carpet - to clean out yet another puke after that statement - my stomach churned again. This time from Minister Hishamuddin's statement that those responsible for the cow-head demonstration should be charged in Court. I then felt faint. Everything went black. My head was spinning. I blacked out. Apparently I suffer from u-turn phobia.
Speaking of u-turns, guys and gals, you all would remember Minister Rais' internet filter debacle. One minute he wanted to filter the internet and was driving 200 mph in his Proton Perdana to Filterville. The next minute he made a u-turn to his Excellency's usual Boringville. Of course, to the delight of all and sundry. But not after the whole world had read about the earlier decision though. The World - 1, Malaysia - 0.
Then His Royal Excellent I-have-changed-my-mode Minister announced that the Black Eyed Peas concert in Malaysia was only allowed for non-Muslims. Again, Minister Yen Yen of the Tourism Ministry was so thankful for the wholly free publicity that Malaysia was having world wide. It looked like Ambassador Todt would be out of job soon, if our Government continues at this rate. The World - 2, Malaysia - 0.
Of course, a couple of days later, when the anger caused by the first announcement had barely subsided, the decision on the BEP concert was reversed. Now Muslims can go. I thought the news page on which I read the news did not upload completely. Because I was dead sure there must be catch right? Like Muslims can go but shall be confined to a male and female only area on the roof of the stage or something. And they shall not dance. And Fergie must wear only batik baju kurung with a slit of not more than 2 inches in length. But no, there weren't such limitation. Phew.... Anyway, by this time, the World led by 3 to Malaysia 0.
Apparently this is getting to be some sort of a tradition. This u-turning aka flip-flopping like some penguins walking on ice while wearing a diving foot wear. Fleep fleep. Flop. Like that. Fleep fleep fleep. Flop. You get what I mean.
Before this, of course when Teoh Beng Hock was found dead at MACC's office, our DPM quickly said there will be no Royal Commission. About 3 days later, a Royal Commission was duly established. The World - 4, Malaysia - 0.
Before that there was the issue of teaching Maths and Science in Bahasa Melayu aka Bahasa Kebangsaan aka Bahasa Malaysia aka Bahasa Baku and back to Bahasa Melayu. Fleeeeeep and then flop. U-turn.
Ahah. Now His Excellent Minister Refined Rais is thinking of imposing conditions on ASTRO, contrary to the license being granted to ASTRO all these while. OSK has warned that this might have a negative impact on foreign direct investment.
Of course it will. Who in his or her right mind would want to come and invest in Malaysia if the parameters within which his or her business is to be carried out cannot be ascertained with certainty? The World - 5, Malaysia - 0.
But the one which stole the thunder form everything else was His Excellent ex Minister -we-have-erection-once-every-5-years Zainuddin Mydin. Singapore was "sacked" from Malaysia because of Lee Kuan Yew's Chinese-centric mantra. As if now, all Chinese Malaysians who are perceivably critical of the Government could be herded onto an island - ala the stray dogs in whatever pulau recently - and left to become cannibal out of hunger.
Of course, he had to leave the best for last. Yes. Singapore apparently has a third world democracy with a developed world mentality. Malaysia on the other hand has developed world democracy but a third world mentality. Mr Ex Minister, a democracy, unlike sex, does not have many positions or level. Either you have it or not. You do not have a doggie style democracy, a reverse cow gal democracy or whatever. Just plain democracy.
As for third world mentality, well, you can add Mad Cow disease to that as well. But it is not common among all Malaysians mind you. It only afflict some people. They know who they are. The World 6, Malaysia 0.
Then, yesterday, TUDM received its first ever ever ever submarine.
The World 6. 1 Malaysia.
Syabas.

ART...sorry I did not get your permission to post this.....I owe you one!
Not only must we condemn the cow-head protest in Shah Alam last week but we must look into ourselves and make sure we don’t think and speak like racists.
THE cow-head protest in Shah Alam last week left me feeling utterly disgusted. The men who organised and participated in that foul act are nothing but rank racists, and by cloaking their activities in a veil of piousness they show themselves to be even more despicable.
Yes, I was furious, but sadly I was not surprised. How can I be and how can anyone else be? We have allowed racists to have their way for so many years now.
Their appalling words and actions get progressively bolder and it just builds and builds until we have these men feeling they have the right to insult another religion in the most vile and brutal manner.
In the light of how Malay and Islamic supremacist thinking and expression have caught hold in the last few years, this sickening behaviour is simply a natural progression.
It happened because we allowed it to happen. Those bigoted thugs did what they did because we did not stamp down on the racists among us hard.
We allowed racist politicians to spout their garbage about “immigrant races”; we allowed them to tell our brothers and sisters to “go back to where you belong”; we allowed them to wave weapons of war; and we allowed them to ask for the weapons to be bathed in blood.
It’s too late for any politician to condemn something now when all the other acts of bigotry that have been brewing in the past few years were not even protested against because they suited their political needs.
It is too late to be making pleas of unity on National Day when not enough has been done before.
Let’s look at something recent. Two books that attacked the Mentri Besar of Selangor and Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim are blatantly racist.
They claim that Selangor is for Malays only. They claim that the Pakatan Rakyat state government threatens Malays because they hire non-Malay staff.
In other words, the government must only hire Malays so that only Malays get benefits from the government. This is racism pure and simple. But because it suits the ruling party, as these books attack Pakatan, nothing is said.
Racism is racism, be it some vile words published in some cheap self-published drivel, or a bleeding cow head stomped and spat upon. Racism is racism and it must be fought.
When it is not fought, when it is not faced down every single time, then those without the courage to fight it are merely accomplices who, through their cowardice or selfishness, support it.
And how should we fight it? The law that should be used is the Penal Code. The Sedition Act is a blunderbuss of a law and could be used against genuine dissent as well. Let us not look to that archaic leaving of the British.
Use the provisions in the Penal Code that make incitement an offence. Charge these people under the Penal Code and lock them away.
But that is for the authorities to do, if they so choose to. We, the people, must look into ourselves and make sure we don’t think and speak like racists. We must be even more careful that we do not infect our children.
We should speak out against racism and we should tell our political leaders that if they do not fight racism then they are supporting racism and we will not support them.
We must make sure that what happened in Shah Alam faces utter and complete public contempt. Only in that way can we ensure it is not repeated.
Dr Azmi Sharom is a law teacher. The views expressed here are entirely his own.
YESTERDAY I accepted a brunch date with a former student, Siva, of Sek. Sultan Abdul Samad. Among other things we talked about the cow-head. I told him that once Hishamudin declared that he was meeting up with the Section 28 residents he would short of sweeping everything under the carpet, he would exonerate the protestors. "He seems a nice fellow, Sir." Siva volunteered. "Yes, if you only read the newspapers," I replied. I wanted to wager a bottle of Belvenie, but since Siva does not drink, I replaced with a lunch at Kana's. He asked me why I was so sure. I told him that the UMNO stink was all over the incident, more so because of the Take Beer banner. I was at Permatang Pasir when UMNO having been hammered from all directions by PAS in the run-up to polling day, finally set about to to ridiculing PAS familiar TAKBIR.....often heard punctuating speeches at ceremahs. That was how low UMNO sank to. Today it was confirmed by Malaysiakini HERE and Malaysian Insider HERE. Siva called this afternoon to set the date for my free lunch at Kana. I told him to let it pass as it would leave a bad taste in the mouth.....winning because of such a wager.
As pointed out by Universiti Malaya antropology and social sciences lecturer Noor Sulastry Yurni Ahmad: "If we remember what happened in Perak, we can infer that Selangor is next in Najib's sights; he has promised to take over Selangor and he is likely to do it."
In contrast to the surreptitious manoeuvring, prior to the fall of the silver state, Najib's recent campaign started with him blatantly telling the nation that he intends to "win back Selangor". He said this while officiating the Kuala Selangor Umno division meeting on Aug 9.
He is breaking down walls and building bridges, so lets help him......more so if he is using the tried scheme of frog-breeding. Lets suggest to him who are the possible froggies in Pakatan Rakyat. A sure bet is Menteri Besar in waiting Hassan Ali, so give that blank to somebody else who also wants to be the next MB of Selangor.....somebody from PKR, yes?
After all, once they are over there.....they will eat anything.....even each other.....dont blieve me?
NO WAY! We are for the total abolition of the ISA, even for scumbags. Besides if Mahyuddin Manaf and Ibrahim Sabri are ISAed we will not be able to get down to the real perpetrator of the episode. The Police intends to throw the Sedition Act at them. That is too lenient!
Section 3 of the Act defines "seditious tendency" thus: "to bring into hatred or contempt or to excite dissatisfaction aginst any ruler or against any government." I remember my friend Wong Chin Huat, sometime ago pointed out that the definition if applied literally would parlayse the democratic system! For example, he continues, no elections can possibly take place without the opposition instigating dissatisfaction against the incumbent government which could hold true regardless of who is in power. There you go.
A such I will go along with my MP, Sivarasa who said:
Legal punishment alone may prove inadequate because it may instead grant the offenders the self-perceived honour of martyrdom. Police prosecutions for unlawful assembly or sedition miss the point completely and are also oppressive in themselves. Any prosecution should only be for incitement of hate and violence against another religion which is provided for in the Penal Code.
I am relaiably informed that the penalty when charged under the Penal Code is heavier than under the Sedition Act. If guilty, they deserve no less.
Charge the two gang-leaders and whoever the industrious Police can lasoo in and in open court they are given the opportunity to defend themselves and possibly reveal to us the puppet-master(S).

If I read right, the grass-hopper Ibrahim Ali said that one is ISAable if one:
"excite racial sentiment by way of writing, statement or speech so as to cause conflict among Malaysia's ethnic groups."
UPDATE: ntv7 8PM news asked its viewers "Should the ISA be used against those who question the position of the rulers, bumiputra rights?" 80% of its viewers said NO!
