A TIRING BUT FRUITFUL WALKABOUT?

PIC COURTESY OF DANIEL

DAY 2
I apologise for the late postings. Internet connectivity, despite a purchase of a new modem so that the three of us could work in a more conducive, confined environment, free from "snoopers", has been very trying. We just hope things will improve.

The Barisan Rakyat Bloggers met up with and joined Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Candidate Wahib Endut in their walkabout. The walk took in the Bus Station, the Wet Market and Kampong Cina. Noticing DSAI's fleeting encounters with the rakyat because of his tight schedule, we decided to break ranks and did a door-to-door visit of every business outlet along Kampong Cina.
At each outlet we were greeted spontaneously. Of course Raja Petra's presence was a contributing factor. Our message to the Chinese along the business stretch was simple. Make the right choice. We made no speeches; we did not demean BN candidate Farid, even though we get feedback from the ground that he was fighting his own battle in his own backyard. The pics you see were never staged. Our hosts just wanted to have their photographs taken with the group. They were convinced that we wanted to win their hearts and minds. Period. It is about making our country fit for all its citizens. It is about giving those who come after us a place to call country and home.
I beleive we got the message thru. How so? The smiles of those people. They speak honestly about what we have set out to do, that is, making the correct choice.
An outlet, where we later come back to have our lunch, boasted that they are fifth generation Malaysians. They had photos on the wall to prove their boasts.

Another, showed us his life-membership of MCA but said that his family would vote for PAS candidate Wahid Endut, after hearing his speak last night at the DAP dinner.
After a good lunch at Madam Bee, we felt that a group photo in front of the 100 years old temple was the right thing to do.

The optimist in me says that we made some progress, But that little voice inside me tells me that it is only the 2nd day and we have many more days ahead of us and we need to stay focus. We need to tell our people, enough is enough and to quote my room-mate Haris: If March 8th 2008 and Permatang Pauh did not get the message across, then 17109. KT will have to send the ultimatum that Malaysians will put an end to BN arrogance, their corruption, their manipulation, their chicanery and heathen believe that they are invincible. You have to be sober to ennunciate these, especially in this "dry" state.

Good Morning Malaysia....at 2:50am.....and we need to plan tomorrow's walkabout. Shoot a little prayer to WHOEVER is listening to bless us with some speedy connectivity.

Zorro,

Before you headed to KT, I just imagined that BN will make things difficult as it may disrupt the internet to disrupt the flow of free information and my fears have been confirmed. Here in Kl, the internet is fine and powerful. So I suspect something. Anyway, our prayers are with you and we hope that you will make it. Thanks a lot.

Hey,
You have our support and prayers. Since I cannot do what you are doing, and I really respect you and the gang for their unwavering support and passion towards changing our country for the betterment of all, I will do so with my prayers.

Here's more power to you and the whole gang. Tell everyone in your group (RPK, Marina, Bapak Anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia ie your roommate) that Malaysians are behind them, especially when you are tired and stressed out.

PR will win!

Tracking your mission with awe & pride, Zorro. You guys are truly a godsend to Malaysia. The Whisperer invited me to join him in KT (very tempting to be in the thick of the action!) but I have to hold the fort here. Love, energy & fortitude to all the Barisan Rakyat Bloggers, RPK & Marina, and of course Wahid Endut himself!
