LIVING ON A PRAYER......THAT'S WHAT WE HAVE LEFT....

Last night I blogged about little Vwaishhnniva's mission, together with some 200 kids, to present roses to the Prime Minister. She also appealed to the Chairman of Sukaham to follow her to Parliament House, as a protector. We have had no response from these two......her only hope. She has nobody to turn two. Her hero, her father P Waytha Moorthy, is on self -imposed exile in London and cannot be here to take her hand to accompany her. We still have another 4 days to 16 February. Why is it that the PM and Sukahim Chief are so slow (or unwilling?) to respond.....?

It is not Guns & Roses these kids are bearing......just beautiful Malaysian grown RED & YELLOW ROSES, for God's sake......just roses and a prayer.....

I quote here a part of Malaysiakini's letter ( a prayerful appeal) from Vwaishhnnavi's father Waytha Moorthy:

I seek forgiveness of the Almighty for placing my only 5-year daughter on the forefront to face the possibility of the first round of tear gas and chemical laced water. Like any other child Vwaishhnnavi is a symbol of LOVE & AFFECTION. She is my only worldly treasure. I neither posses not property nor wealth. And I dedicate my only "treasure" for the cause of this suppressed community. I embrace the brave mother of this child for her determination, courage and commitment shown towards the struggle.

Vwaishhnnavi and many others of her age would brave the message of purity, truth, sincerity, and unselfishness for the sake of the future Indian generation.

May I invite all Malaysians irrespective of colour and creed to join us in this symbolic gesture to seek Justice for a marginalized community neglected, unattended forgotten for 50 years. Let us all declare Friday the 15th Feb a National Prayer Day for the Almighty to grand wisdom to leaders of our country to allow our future generation to express their message of Peace & Justice.

Let us all pray that the Prime Minister who claims that he has big ears to listen to grouses of all communities allow this child any many others including us to whisper the message of LOVE AND JUSTICE through the ROSES.

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE? COMMON,BASIC COURTESY SAYS YOU BOTH NEED TO LET THE CHILD KNOW!

Five year old VWAISHHNNAVI, will be among some 200 children who want to make this years Valentine Day very special. She and her friends will be bearing red and yellow roses to give to the Prime Minister at Parliament on February 16. On January 22 she sent this letter (below) to the Prime Minister.

"Please wait for me at Parliament House to take my roses."

According to Malaysiakini the Prime (work with me, not for me; I have big ears) Minister has yet to reply:

Abdullah has yet to reply to a handwritten invitation from five-year-old Vwaishhnnavi, the only daughter of Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy, who had submitted it at the PM’s Department on Jan 22. He is in self-imposed exile in London to build support for Hindraf’s cause.

Yet another appeal has been sent to the premier to keep a Valentine’s date with children on Saturday....but will the response be yet more silence? Supporters of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) hope not.

Why is it that important that the children want the Prime Minister to receive them?

“Please protect me and others coming to Parliament from the brutal attack of police who may use tear gas and chemical (-laced) water. Mr PM, I am coming because I want to give you beautiful flowers... You must wait for me at Parliament to take my roses.”

"He is our leader. He should meet us to listen to what we have to say, as he is serving us (citizens). The dialogue should be directly between us and him, (with) no middlemen (involved)."

Teacher K Krishnan, 58, said with a smile: "This is a peaceful gesture shown by courageous children and we do hope that (Abdullah) will attend.

On Feb 6, Vwaishhnnavi submitted another letter at the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia, asking its chairperson Abu Talib Othman to attend the event as ‘insurance’ to protect the group from possible police action and to uphold their human rights.

Two postings earlier I challenged all the commissioners to lead the group of children because Vwaishhnnavi appealed for their protection.

Has the all-important POLICE been informed. No wrong question! HAS THE POLICE GIVEN PERMIT FOR THIS GATHERING OF CHILDREN BEARING ROSES FOR THE PRIME MINISTER?

Asked what they had in mind if denied a police permit to assemble outside Parliament, a representative said the peaceful gathering would go on even if a permit is not issued. An application will be submitted to the police.

“We will apply for the permit, (so) grant us the permit. We will abide by all the laws and regulations. We’ll never break any laws. We’re only worried that they (the police) will set a bad example."

To a suggestion that the group would be using children to further its goals, he said the gathering on Feb 16 is to educate the younger generation and impress on them the need to struggle for their rights.

“We are taking them (along) with the consent of their parents. We are doing this for their future,” he said.

Yeah.....those are maggots and we believe our national carrier MAS is infested with these. One reared its ugly head and got nabbed in Australia. Somehow or other our guys get caught invariably in Australia. Remember that shyster who smuggled millions into Aussieland and claimed he could not read English. Of course he had to vacate his lofty position but the grapevine has it that he is making a return to active politics. Just goes to show that the BN is so bereft of decent candidates that they have to fall back on felons. Urrrggggggg!

Why do I call these maggots? Maggots feed on carcass, the more rotten the faster the job is done. Here is what happened, and like I said earlier, he got downed in DownUnder:

A Malaysia Airlines pilot who was caught importing child pornography to Australia yesterday has faced court.

When Ahmad Said, 25, arrived at Adelaide Airport yesterday he said he did not have anything to declare.

But customs officers searched his laptop and found child sex videos.

A handcuffed Said has faced court.

Magistrate Simon Smart told him the videos were cruel and violent and it was a disgrace that the married father of two had brought the material to Australia.

The magistrate said people like Said encouraged the market for child pornography.

Said, whose wife is expecting their third child, was fined $6,000.

He left court with a jumper over his head because of television camera crews.

IMHO, this could be a tip off by one of his peers. Boredom in long haul flights will always make one to pull out his laptop and start fiddling in whats available in it.

Maybe not his colleague ( his captain) on that particular flight but maybe on another leg of long haul. Pornography is a definite no no but child porno is an absolute shame!

This pilot has done wrong to commit an offense under foreign law on foreign soil. Such indiscipline should not be taken lightly.

Nevertheless, I would like to highlight a more serious problem looming in MAS that will have effect on passenger’s safety. This problem has its roots in the lackadaisical attitude of the top management under Dato Idris Jala.

It is an "open secret" in MAS that quite a few of the new crop of pilots are habitual drug users. There have been few cases of these pilots caught doing their habit in flight. Few cases have been brought to the attention of management. Unfortunately, these pilots are untouchable sons of high officials of Malaysia Airport, Government and Politicians.

Lately, children of influential parents have been using their contact to get their undisciplined and spoilt children into MAS pilot programs. As a result, the new crop of pilots from these influential family carry an attitude and this has resulted in a rise in indiscipline - no show for work, negligence and etc. The drug use problem is only the tip of the iceberg.

Despite knowing the grave danger it pose to passengers, Idris Jala is dragging his feet to kow tow to their influential parents. He is believed to have explicitly instructed the Legal Department to hold back actions on the drug using pilots.

It does not help that the MAS Legal Department is filled with son and daughters of "birds of the same feather". The son of Minister Tan Sri Hamid Osman heads the Legal Department. The lawyers under him is a "whose who" of the daughter of Rafidah Aziz, daughter of a Perlis royal family, son of a GLC Director and daughter of Diplomat.

Most trainers and senior pilots expressed their preference for “commoner” and out of town applicants/pilot. They have shown to be generally more disciplined, dedicated and focused on their job.

The interference from the top is seriously affecting the professionalism of MAS pilot. Morale among the more senior pilots is low because they are burdened to take up the slack of the problematic young pilots. Given time, it will affect passenger safety and God forbid, put human lives in danger.

Stocking the fire another commentator has this to add:

This is so disgusting and i am not surprised at all that the offender comes from MAS. Do you know that many of these young pilots are drug addicts... this is because of MAS policy and work culture (silo mentality, rampant leakages - sounds familiar? ) that chased out competent personnel and attracts any Tom, Dick, Harry, drug addicts and now paedophile??

Our lives are in their hand !!!

Have you lodged a report with the MAS management? You should. Also with the MAS Pilots' Association. The authorities need to be told. In your shoes, I won't assume that Idris Jala knows everything.

It is opined that as one ages the senses too either fade or get jaded. I say this is a fallacy. It is an opinion concocted to gain easy passage or to ask for concessions. At 68, my senses seem more sharpened, more keen, I don't just hear, I LISTEN better; I SEE not only the big picture, but go into the complexity and intricacies of what is before me; my sense of TOUCH is now translated into being in touch with what is happening around me; my TASTE is more discerning....I will not partake of the common fare dished out by people whom we have allowed to control our daily diet of spin information ; the final faculty, SPEECH (through blogging) has allowed me to reach a bigger and hopefully more discerning audience.

THE LUNAR YEAR THAT JUST LEFT US TO TAKE A 12 YEAR LEAVE, HAS BEEN A YEAR THAT I WILL TRY TO FORGET SOME THINGS AND CHERISH A FEW OTHERS.

The authorities did not say NO, Instead they said

Come 26 February this little girl, together with some 200 children will make a trip to Parliament to present the Prime Minister of Malaysia, with roses. However they want to be protected and this little girl penned this letter to the Chairman of Suhakam.

My wish this New Lunar Year is for this august body, SUHAKAM, to walk the talk, to have more bite.
Eighteen of you were selected because of your distinguished service to the country. Let it not be said that you are toothless, not accountable, couldn't care less, not on the ball or just warming the seat! Let it not be said that you only look distinguished but an extinguished spent force now. Wouldn't it be great to prove us all wrong and all you eighteen accompany that little girl to Parliament.
