Sir, I salute your determination, passion and commitment to noble truths. You taught us these way back at La Salle Sentul in the late 60's. Today you continue to remind us of these fundamentals as you slog for a future Malaysia. Yes, extra ordinary men lived ordinary lives; but it is the ordinary teacher like you who lives extra-ordinary lives. God bless you Sir.

1110PM

Guan Eng made reference to George Chan's statement in the Star: SUPP is a party of towkays!

1100pm
These Sibuans have been here since 700pm. A few brought their plastic stools. The others have been standing for close to 4 hours. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

1045pm
YB Guan Eng began thus:
A member of the audience told me: You must not leave Sibu before 16 April. The may not allow you to come into Sarawak. I have to return to Penang on matters of the State. If they won't allow me to come back before 16, this is my message to you Sarawakians. Defeating BN is not an option. We must overcome.

1030pm
Member of Parliament for Sibu and Calun for Bukit Assek is in his element.....he is their Member of Parliament.

1017pm
Alice Lau, Calun for Bawang Assan is introduced after the welcome of Guan Eng abates. Alice is a pharmacist by profession. She is dispensing a fiery ditrade against Pek Moh. Again the alarm is triggered. These women

1015pm
Cheers and banners and escorts greet the arrival of Chief Minister of Penang, YB Lim Guan Eng

1007pm
Just heard this Zairil gem: MACC means Masuk Alive Come(out) Corpse.

10pm
Zairil Khir Johari and greets the audience in Mandarin and Hokkien. He swings into Mandarin for a spell and the crowd is just thrilled. Handsome lah this guy. I told him on Thursday night some adventures I had with his father the late Tan Sri Khir Johari. I reminded him that it was his Pa that brought Goodyear Tyres into Malaysia. He spike his speech with Bahasa, English, Mandarin and Hokkien. I wont be surprised he will throw in some Foo Chow to prove his versatility. He is a DAP find, all right.

950pm
Jo Mary whom YBLKS refers to as OUR GHOST BUSTER, after a crowd survey says it is close to 6000 and contemplating 6500. Jo was a scourge to the Sibu postal votes counting centre during the Sibu by elections. She just conducted, one last night and one this morning, courses for those appointed to be polling agents. She found an able assistance in Kok Li who walked into the centre yesterday to volunteer her services. Kok Li hails from Kluang, Johore.

945pm
received these two comments:

Hey Zorro, thanks for the live report. I have been switching blogs to catch the latest so this is God send, buddy. Beer should be quite cheap in Sibu, 3 cans for RM10. So cheers brother. May the night be a memorable one for DAP. Also thanks for your support for Pakatan because what you write do influence and inspire people.

so you got your beer.

no need to tease the special bunch. we know exactly how it is like over there.

already feeling the wind of change from here.

keep it coming, uncle!

938pm
Cheras strongman YB Tan Kok Wai moves up to the stage with accompanying applause. He is well known even in Sibu.

935pm
Took a short pee break and surveyed the crowd. They have spillled over to the blocks across the road.
Yap just ended his speech. He is faced with an increase in Postal Votes.

917pm
Calun Yap Hoi Liong, Dudong takes the podium.

915pm
David with his supporters distribute flyers and baloons to patrons at Rafie Cafe/

908pm
Sale of Ubah very brisk. Those of you outside Sibu can purchase Ubah from SK Thiew. He bought 4 this afternoon, got itchy and began to twit about it and he had 10 orders. Call him 012-6849475 and he might be your courrier. He does not know I am offering you guys this service.

906pm
MC welcomes David Wong, Calun for Palawan, Sibu. He delivers in Mandarine and Foo Chow. I dont have to concentrate now.....time for a swig.

905pm
Another short and sweet guy. Thrilled the Sibu crowd with some phrases in Mandarin. A roar of approval and appreciation welcomed him as he descended the stage.

855pm
Nik Nazmi, PKR Communications Chief....stayed one extra day to be at this ceremah. He is on stage now. Nik is one of the rising stars in PKR......pure PKR member, never was an UMNO member.

853pm
Zairil Khir Johari just stretch out his hand across the tape barrier to say Hi. We will hear him speak later tonight.

852pm
This guys timing is perfect.....10minutes to the dot. He understands attention span. He just at one theme - TUKAR, UBAH. Very fiery this lad.

842pm
Norisham Md Ali, PKR calun Nangka, Sibu is given the mike.

840pm
Chin Tong tells me that the crowd has exceeded 4000. He has also sent out a tweet that we are bring this ceremah to you live. Michael ends his speech.

832pm
Michael is speaking in Mandarin and Foo Chow. Will not attempt to translate. But i know he in this election because he wants to effect this change - kicking out BN from sarawak/

820pm
Michael Tan, Calun is up on stage to do his stuff.

818PM
Teresa Kok ends her speech to thunderous applause. She is being mobbed. Erin gives me a beer. You guys (the Special Bunch) sure missing something.

815pm
Teresa is still enthralling the 3000 audience. Her voice triggered off a shoplot alarm TWICE!

745pm
YB Teresa takes the mike. A man is starring at me....me with the Ubah tees and a PAS cap. I am quite used to this since Monday.

744pm
YB Liew welcomes the people....they are all standing to attention as Sarawak's anthem is played...I will have to do likewise.

742pm
MC announces the arrival of YB Teresa Kok

740pm
My logistics expert says there is already about 1000 rally goers. The streams of people have not stopped and it will be like this until......

725pm
The people keep streaming in and those already here are listening in rapt attention to a video interview of Lim Guan Eng. That guy is the epitome of confidence. He has to. He leads the most dynamic state in the Pakatan fold.

716pm
YB Liew Chin Tong. MP Bukit Bendera, Penang, is his usual cool self. It is his show tonight, being Sibu DAP Operation Chief. It was the reason I chose to come to Sibu. I like the way he operates, having witnessed him doing his stuff during last year's Sibu by-elections.

715pm
It is such a lovey cool evening....me just a bit thirsty....if you know what I mean.

705pm
People coming in slowly but surely, some with their chairs and broilers.

640PM

Tonight's ceremah is at Kampong Dato the same venue where YB Wong Ho Leng held his last ceremah the night before he captured the Sibu Parliamentary seat last May.....the same venue where YB Karpal made a dramatic entry via the back of a truck. The truck backed to the stage and the Lion of Jelutong was wheeled on stage. It was a touching sight and a young lady, including YB Liew Chin Tong stifled a sob.

It has been raining all afternoon. Ubah blew away the rain clouds and its a cool evening now. We are behind a bit but that is to be expected.

Last night, at Miri, Guan Eng attracted a 10,000 crowd. The DAP organisers in Sibu is determined to better that number. It might. Guan Eng will be here tonight.

Tentatively, this is the line-up of speakers:

YBMichael Tan, Adun Padang Lallang, Penang.
Alice Lau, Calun, Bawang Assan, Sibu
YB Teresa Kok, MP Seputeh,
David Wong, Calun, Pelawan, Sibu
Yap Hoi Liong, Calun Dudong, Sibu
Zairil Khir Johari, Special Aide to CM Lim Guan Eng
Tan Kok Wai,MP Cheras, KL
Wong Ho Leng, MP Sibu, Calun Bukit Assek, Sibu
YB Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang.

The polling agents and assistants of Pakatan should pay special attention to postal votes and EC unusual activities in the coming Sarawak State Election. The number of postal votes may affect the results drastically.

I personally do not believe that PR will win this election, perhaps only to reduce to 2/3 majority or better. Attendants for ceramahs for DAP was good, but not for those PAS or PKR. I have read many sites, and it seems that the problem is with PKR for not having the supports and I just don't understand why? Without Anwar, we would not have Penang, Selangor, Kedah and briefly Perak too. Without Anwar, the oppositions would not have won 80+ MP seats in Parliament. Therefore I am asking those Sarawakians if you are reading this, do you prefer BN for another 5 years with same old same old again?

I am afraid that it safe to say that Taib's CM job is safe for another 5 years.

Hope I am wrong on this.

Where is that small boy Asril Sani.
Why he so quiet. Cat got his tongue?
Or is he in Sarawak running errands for BN?
Nicelah we have that boy here. Can hentam or make fun of him.
Don't delete him Uncle. We can laugh at him.

zorro said...

Anon1008am
Don't lah bully Asril....he is only a kid acting acting below his chronological age. Give chance to our youth. Who deleted him?

Did somebody say that Anon1008 is Asril himself. I dont want to waste time looking up his IP....maybe somebody can.

Thanks Uncle Zorro! Hope to meet you in Kuching! Salute you for keeping up the fight. I remember in your earlier blogs that your children have grown and you've fulfilled your responsibilities. Yet you continued to care bout the nation by actively doing something about it. God Bless.

Hi Uncle B,

Keep up the good work. Would have been perfect if Special Bunch was with you. We will have the beer and the SINGLE M when you are back.

Anon1008

I have read Asril Sani comments here before and I see nothing wrong with that. He has the very right to believe what he thinks is right, even he is a supporter of BN. We much respect his decisions/opinions even if we disagreed with him, and can only hope that one day he understands what we are trying to achieve here. Laughing at him, why? Should we? If there was any laughing, I think it should be you or anyone here who refused to accept others opinions. Do you think everyone who reads blog here agreed to all the postings here? No I an not and I won't hold back either.
