I am RELIABLY INFORMED that jihad is a serious pronouncement. But I have not been reliably informed if a woman can throw jihad at a man or vice versa. That would be unwomanly and ungentlemanly conduct.

On a more serious note: This jihad thing. Is it affecting DSAI such that he is so silent about his delinquent Kulim MP, Zulkifli Noordin who told the protesters last Saturday morning:

“If you don’t hear from us at 10am, you should all storm the building,” he said, before he led a four-member delegation representing the protesters to state their position to the forum organisers.

Just a few days before Anwar had declared in a mid-morning Press Conference:

"The use of police powers as well the office of the Attorney General to persecute political opponents will be criminalized so as to ensure a healthy and vibrant democracy where dissent is not only tolerated but nurtured. "

Can these utterings be to borrow Willie Shakespear immortal words: ALL SOUND AND FURY SIGNIFYING NOTHING?

We expect the PM-in-waiting to say something about this faux pas. All we hear is NOTHING!

Yes people, I could not handle it better than my friend from the Land Beneath The Winds, HANTULAUT, who like AISEHMAN, serve blogosphere better by remaining anonymous. It was in my agenda to meet up with HantuLaut during my recent trip to KK with the National Press Club. We were only able to meet up on the last night but both agreed that it was an auspicious even.....when two Hantus met..

On Sunday, I put up a posting on the disrupted Bar Council forum. I wanted to highlight what I thought was what disturbed me personally - DSAI's assurance "to ensure a healthy and vibrant democracy where dissent is not only tolerated but nurtured." and then unceremoniously hijacked by Zulkifli. a PKR Member of Parliament.

When I first read Robert Louis Stevenson's "A Strange Case of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde" I was still in my early teens.The book characterised a man with split personality or "multiple personality disorder". The leading character Dr Jackall from being the nicest person could transformed into the worse case of misanthropy with murderous tendencies.Knowing it was a work of fiction and being young and ignorant then I didn't believe that human beings could have such multiple personality.Later in my adult life I learned it is a mental disorder called psychopathology.In the worst case scenario they become serial killers.

The recent disruption of the Bar Council's public forum on 'Conversion to Islam" by protesters openly participated by some PKR and PAS leaders was a shocking revelation of human behaviour, how one can hide one true character.

Many Malaysians were euphoric and dreamt of utopia when Pakatan Rakyat , a loose coalition of PKR,PAS and DAP grabbed considerable number of seats from the BN (Barisan National) and brought the biggest upset in the nation elections history.The de facto leader of the oppositions Anwar Ibrahim was seen as a hero and a saviour to form an alternative government, one that promised to be fair to all Malaysians irrespective of race, colour and creed.

Is Islam really in danger if there were open discussions on inter-faith problems that have affected certain community in this multi-religious society or would the government rather allow it to be swept under the carpet and let it become the Indian disease, the intolerance of Hindu extremists toward other religions? Why weren't the protesters arrested for illegal assembly? Why did our leaders openly show support to the protesters and condemned the Bar Council?

The statements made by the Deputy Prime Minister and other ministers lending support instead of condemning the aggressive actions and uncalled for behaviour of the protesters storming the forum are most regrettable.Even more regrettable were the actions of the police by allowing the protesters to carry out their action, abhorrent to any civilised society.The use of racial slurs by some of the protesters shouldn't have been tolerated by the police. They should have been arrested for causing public nuisance.

YOU OK BERNARD?

"You OK Bernard?" That was last night at the Eurasian Club where I was invited to celebrate Diana Gregory' 70th birthday. I got one call from a nephew, and three from readers....all because I did not put up a posting on Saturday......this later.

At my age there are certain things that I must abstain from.....like stretching nights into early mornings four or five nights in a row. Last Thursday was one such day where I abstained from fishing at the Wharf because Friday was going to be another marathon night. A Malaysia Today supporter was sponsoring a la carte dinner and whatever follows with good food. I was tasked to invite bloggers. I text the alpha ones and told them to pass the word around....but I particularly I wanted new faces to meet old faces. New faces came and asked where were the old faces and I dived into my bags of excuses ..........and was quite convincing I tell ya.....I always have an excuse for my friends.....because I know that they will have in store their recipe of excuses for me. For those who felt left out, here is the excuse.....the baton was not passed to you by the relay team. Go for their throats.

Over dinner, barrels of beers, 1 bottle of Blue Label and two bottles of Dimples, all donated....... remember all bloggers are un-employed.) we watched enthralled by the Beijing spellbinding razzmatazz. After that we were entertained by a live-band also courtesy of sponsors. Martin (currently playing his gigs in HongKong got hold of his old Headwind buddies and belted out some good heavies. Everybody let their hair down except RPK!

08-08-08 was auspicious. It was the day, we will hear that familiar word: Let The Games Go On. I was elated by the contents of Anwar's mid-morning Press Conference on that day. This gripped me, this announcement at the PC:

I promise that under a Pakatan Rakyat government Malaysians will never again be subjected to such gross abuse of executive power as we are again witnessing today. Arbitrary arrest and detention, frivolous investigation and malicious prosecutions shall be a thing of the past. Police officers and prosecutors who launch conspiracies to defame and humiliate the innocent will be severely punished. In this regard every Malaysian’s fundamental liberties will be treated as sacrosanct and safeguarded by a truly independent judiciary guided by principles of utmost integrity and an adherence to the spirit of the federal constitution.

The politically motivated trial launched against me will, Insha’Allah, be the last of its kind. No Malaysian will suffer from this cruel injustice ever again.

Escorted by the police interrupted the forum thus:“I represent Umno. Stop this forum” declared the unidentified individual who also uttered “Don’t insult Islam” and “You! Chinese, Indians, go to hell!”.


Malaysiakini reported:

The individual’s tirade however earned him a loud reprimand from renowned International Islamic University law lecturer Dr Mehrun Siraj (pic above) who took to another microphone.

“Open discussion is the way to discuss the issues between Muslims and non-Muslims. Don’t insult Islam,” she said amidst the shouts of the protesters.

PKR Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin however broke ranks with his opposition colleagues when he called on the crowd to storm the building should the forum continue.

CHILDISH POLICE BULLYING AGAIN.

Since his arrest at 11.00pm on Wednesday night, we have been asking each other why was Bakaq arrested. Some of the reasons were preposterous, but others included reasons like PAS was hitting back at him over the meetings and another was because the police wanted to hit at somebody else but missed that somebody else and they got Bakaq instead. Collateral damage or friendly fire.

However, we have been RELIABLY INFORMED (this is the flavor of the year, this endearing term) that the Polis Di-Raja got angry because THEIR TIGER went missing.



Come lah, Musa Ng, at least your tiger went for a pee and the polis sniffer is around to take the tiger's place. Tigers need to take a pee or some self-gratifying licks, don't you realise? Unless your tiger went round looking for the tiger below.
Sometime ago I put up this FAM logo courtesy of a blogger buddy. This tiger lost its stripes. It KENASEPAK. It even injured its hind legs and you know how important hind legs are as fulcrum when you want to "perform". The tiger even lost its fangs. The President of the FAM, the Sultan of Pahang did not send me a red card. You see the diff between His Royal Highness and Musa Ng is, the former is a sportsman par excellence. You win some you lose some.....unless you lose all the time....then it is difficult to be a sportsman. If the force continues to have these bad vibes, the King may have to consider a few changes. STUPID ME. It took me until now to realise this simple equation or would you want to be scientific about it and call it a formula. Isn't this a fact? If you the executive, have the police and the judiciary under you and you dont make hay while the sun shines then you are a retard rat. You just got to have two people in your pockets, in corporate life, preferably the one who does the purchasing and the finance chief who okays the purchasing.....or in the case of the government agencies like the customs and immigration....the Director Generals must have 2 key personnel in his clutches. Of course he has to do a lot of homework like looking into closets for hidden DNA (data not available).
However in the process of unearthing DNA your hands can be bloddied if you use anything explosive.When you have these pocketed professionally, even the lady you marry in a kedai runcit across some state borders can be a millionaire sans the stupid TV reality show. This is simple shit, I tell ya.

When you have the Police and the Judiciary in your camp, I mean in your pocket, you can without impunity ISA anyone, even your stepmothers adopted uncle's illegitimate child's third wife's 2nd husband.! You just pointed out and the two agencies did the work....what is wrong in pointing out....we all do it as an everyday thing.

So people, when we have a new ruler, we must ensure that he has no pockets .....in fact the new government must wear shirts and trousers without pockets.....everything, like purse, must be hung around the neck for transparency purposes. Stupid idea? Some of this world's earth-shattering inventions came from stupid ideas.

Circumstances did not allow me to be present at Jalan Duta this morning but I was continuously been updated as events unfurled. My take is that it unfolded four types of players in this tragic-comedy that only Malaysia can script-write.


Sessions Court Judge S M Komathy Suppiah after listening to lead counsel and prosecution said:

Anwar need not surrender his passport as the opposition leader was not likely to abscond and it was an element of natural justice that a man should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

"I don't think there's any likelihood that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will abscond. Therefore I will release him on a personal bond of RM20,000 without surety," she said to applause from the public gallery.

She also said Anwar need not surrender his passport as the opposition leader was not likely to abscond and it was an element of natural justice that a man should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

ADMITEDLY THERE ARE STILL SOME DECENT JUDGES IN THE JUDICIARY...BUT HOW MANY? BUT WE ARE HAPPY WITH LITTLE BLESSINGS WHICH ARE SO RARE NOWADAYS.

Anuar's lead counsel Sulaiman Abdullah argued for a personal bond, with no amount set, to be granted as he said there was no possibility of the opposition leader absconding or tampering with witnesses.

He also added that Anwar is "very keen" to answer the accusation thrown at him.

Lead prosecutor, solicitor-general Idrus Harun, disagreed when asked by the judge for his view on Sulaiman's argument.

"The possibility is always there," said Idris, drawing laughter from those in the public gallery.

The court was packed with about 100 people including Anwar's family members, supporters and top Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

Dr Mohd Osman went thru the grilling and chicanery that has become second nature to our police. I quote verbatim from the doctor's Statutory Declaration and why he is looking for safer place:

The following week the same officer returned with a typed statement in Bahasa Malaysia for him to read and sign.

However, Dr Mohamed Osman said certain facts that were not discussed in the previous meeting had been introduced in the typed statement, namely Anwar's name.

Dr Mohamed Osman claimed Anwar's name was never brought up during the first interview and Mohd Saiful also never confided to him about the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

"About a week later I was visited by a plainclothes police officer by the name of DSP Choo from the criminal division of the Jalan Hang Tuah district police, who impressed on me that I would be charged if I refused to cooperate with the police," he added.

Dr Mohamed Osman said he then decided to flee the country with his family as he feared for his and their safety.
