Bakaq Haq of the famous Penarik Beca bloq was arrested last night at his home in Greenwood Park, Gombak. According to his wife, 4 police personnel picked Bakaq and his laptop around 11 pm.




Around 12.30 am, Wan Joe of JiwoKelate confirmed that Bakaq is in custody at The Commercial Crime Building in Kuala Lumpur. His lawyer, Hanipa Maidin who is also PAS legal adviser confirmed that Bakaq’s arrest was done under the Seditious Act.

Bakaq or his real name is Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar has contributed a lot in revealing the hidden agenda of the infamous Muzakarah between PAS and UMNO. It is so damaging that the Deputy President of PAS, Nasharuddin Mat Isa has made a threat to sue him although later it was proven that much of what Bakaq has revealed is true.

Bakaq is not a member of any political Party but a stern supporter of PAS’s Constitution to form an Islamic Government that shall be fair to all races.

Bloggers and friends of Penarik Beca will gather at Commercial Crime Building near Bank Negara Malaysia at 2 pm today to give morale support to Bakaq.

Puan Bakaq was told to call the police at 4.00pm. At 4.35 Puan Bakaq called to say that her husband has been remanded but his whereabouts are still not known. It is believed that he was driven out of the CCD during the heavy storm at 2.30pm. If he is remanded he may be produced in court. What he will charged under is still unknown and we were not able to contact his lawyer Ms Hanipa Maidin. Before Gus and I left I asked Black (Amin Iskandar) to keep us updated. Keep faith with the family, please.

Tomorrow, at 10am, DSAI will be charged for sodomy. My guess is that from tonight, there will be roadblocks and come tomorrow we will be barred from the Jalan Duta courts. And then after the UMNO appointed judge (will it be the UMNO legal advisor from Kota Baru?) allows the prosecution and defence to have their say, he will as instructed, if he wants to remain a running-pariah-dog and keep his job, officially intone: Not baliable. Dang, lawyer Balwant Singh shot dead a guy and he got bail....and this case is not bailable! Not bailable!

I am proud to be alligned to a band of bloggers that have no political masters, are not card-carrying members of any political party and will not hesitate to take to task any misstep especially any Pakatan Rakyat delinquency.

Today I take umbrage at the behavior of some PKR goons. It is not an untruth to assume that most PKR members were former UMNO members. You all belonged to that unholy coalition. Some of you may have come out of UMNO, shed your skin over several seasons but the UMNO thing has not rubbed off on some of you.
Why did you rough up that lady reporter (here)and (here)? Since when has it become the trend to pick on ladies who were doing their job. Is it because ladies are easy pickings? Bullies normally do that!

PKR leaders and PR leaders need to do something drastic to clean up the image your security people ARE BEGINNING TO establish. Learn from PAS please......how they handled the Bersih rally.You goons are behaving like the above who came out to rough up residents who protested the blockade in Cheras.
Your goons are no different from this breed that strutted around in Ijok, during the by-elections.
With the Permatang Pauh by-elections which will be hurried thru soon, PKR and PR leaders have little time to rein in their thugs and get them to behave. And especially tell them that it is ONLY the yellow-livered cowards who will target defenseless women. Leave strong-armed thuggery to UMNO and their blue-shirted goonies. PR and PKR security personnel must be professional, because WE of BARISAN RAKYAT expect the government-in-waiting to be professional in every facet of governance.

On Sunday 20 July in response to Hawkeye's call for suspension of the Police Inspector General and the Attorney General, I said that the TRINITY MUST GO.

Haris Ibrahim of People's Parliament launched a petition to the Agung to not sanction the appointment of Tan Sri Zaki as successor to the current Chief Justice, come October. Here is some background to this petition:

In October, 2007 5,036 anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia petitioned His Majesty, appealing that Fairuz’s term as Chief Justice not be extended, as was then sought by the Prime Minister. My sources tell me that His Majesty did take note of the concerns voiced by those 5,036 individuals.

That petition was launched before the BERSIH and HINDRAF rally took place; before Makkal Sakhti took hold of the imagination of the rakyat.

Given the heightened spirit of “people power” amongst the rakyat, it would be good if this petition could garner a significant increase in the number in support compared to the previous.

According to news reports, the position of Chief Justice falls vacant on 18th October, 2008.

I would like to get the petition to His Majesty by the 15th of September.

What's with this fellow that many don't want him to be the Chief Justice? Before we go into this lets say that I have been reliably informed that the Cabinet shot down Zaid Ibrahim's Judicial Reform efforts. Now why would these fat cats be against something that is good and necessary for good, transparent government. No prize for guessing!

Some tit-bits about the Chief Justice-in-waiting-along-the-corridors of power:

1.Tan Sri Dato’ Zaki is the most junior judge amongst all judges of the High
Courts, the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court;

2.Tan Sri Dato' Zaki is the most junior amongst the 8 Federal Court judges,
and his selection as President of the Court of Appeal would most unfairly
have raised questions about the competence of the other 7 very much more
senior judges of the Federal Court ;

3.Tan Sri Dato' Zaki has been very intimately involved in UMNO, having at
one time held the position of chairman of the party’s election committee,
deputy chairman of its disciplinary board of appeal and party legal
adviser. It is unclear if he is still a card carrying member of UMNO or if
he has ceased to be one, when he ceased to be one;

4.Tan Sri Dato' Zaki has been linked to financial scandals involving UMNO
that were allegedly bailed out by the government;

5.Tan Sri Dato' Zaki has been very intimately involved in the corporate
world as a major shareholder and / or director in several corporate
entities, many of which were known to have business dealings with the
government; and

6.Tan Sri Dato' Zaki had previously been embroiled in a personal scandal that
implicated him in the destruction of documentary evidence, thus laying him
open to questions of his integrity.

Just over two weeks ago Kickdefella SHIEH texted me this message: I am thinking of protes rakyat secara aman serentak diseluruh Malaysia, mendesak kerajaan pusat dan kerajaan negeri untuk tumpukan perhatian mentadbir kerajaan bagi menyelesaikan masalah rakyat yang semakin terhimpit bukan masalah parti2 politik yang terhimpit...I am willing to take a major role in this. Perhimpunan should be held a few days before 31/8.....cc to all friends.

Just a few minutes ago he alerted me that this initiative has kicked off.

Raising My Flag Upside Down

Dear fellow Malaysians,

Beginning from today, I will raise my Malaysia Flag upside down as a mark of protest. My fellow Malaysians has suffered enough by unjustified policies and flip-flop decisions by the government, not to forget unscrupulous politicking amongst politicians. This country has gone backward in so many aspects.

It has been a long-established custom for us, every August to raise our national flag as a proud Malaysian to mark our Merdeka Day Celebration. I would like to urge my fellow countrymen to keep doing the same this year but let us fly our beloved flag upside down.

The upside down flag is accepted as official signal of distress. By displaying it properly, it is not meant to be or it is not recognised as any type of disrespect

As we were discussing the future of this country, we should realised that Men and Women of this beloved Malaysia begins to suffer more than they have too, some started to lose their jobs while others find it more and more difficult not to lose their sanity.

Some still cry over the lost of Sharlinie and the death of Nurin. These two unfortunate Malaysian are the future of our country and they have brought us together is so many ways; yet, despite the sorrow, what have we achieved?

If you have a reason to disagree with the manner the country is heading, then you have a cause.

It has been my personal practice every year during the Merdeka month, that I will fly my country's flag. This practice continues when I moved into the condo. But this year it will be drastically different....in solidarity with Shieh, mine will be flown upside down, signalling DISTRESS and I will have to explain to all the kids when they notice this whilst they hang around my lanai in the evenings.

Have you ever made a concerted effort to check on the cleanliness of the outlet, how the mynmarese or indonesian server serves you your bowl of noodles....ever seen his/her fingers sneaking into your bowl? Ever paid any notice to the grooming of your food-provider? Hair, finger-nails and filthy apron? Semua-nya OK....standard practice mah!

BUT STANDARD MALAYSIAN APATHY ALLOWS THESE TO HAPPEN IN THE KOPI TIAMS AND THE MAMAK JOINTS.

BUT CAN WE ALLOW SUCH APATHY TO COME FROM ESTABLISHED FOOD AND BERVERAGE GIANTS?
BUT IT IS HAPPENING.....ONLY THING IS THAT YOU DON'T SEE THE DARKER SIDE OF THESE FACTORY OUTLETS.

ECM Libra FInancial Group Berhad has a stake in Pos
Malaysia Berhad (PMB) through it's acquisition of Avenue Capital Resources in 2006.

That deal left a bitter taste in the mouths of those knowledgeable in the financial world as it was a clear case of insider's trading.

Note that Khairy Jamaluddin was a Director of Investment in ECM Libra in 2004 before he tendered his resignation after this infamous debacle.

However, Pak Lah's closest crony, Dato' Seri Kalimulla is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ECM Libra.

Recently, PMB was given the job of giving out the cash rebates to replace of fuel subsidy. It is quite odd on why JPJ was not given this role but instead it was given to a postal service company.

Instead of the more efficient and more relevant job function of the JPJ, these cash handouts responsibility were thrusted into the already mountainous variety of services PMB had to handle.

The only defence that Pak Lah might see the appropriateness of this move is the many branches of post offices nationwide which the public can easily have access.

But now, let's see how Pak Lah and his cronies get extra money out of this purportedly 'for the rakyat' act of selflessness.

For every transaction, PMB will get 10 sen commission on every RM10
of that RM625 and RM150 (for cars and motorcycles respectively).

That means, for every transaction, PMB will get RM6.25 for cars and RM1.50 for motorcycles in the form of transaction fees.

There is about 11 million cars and 8 million motorcycles in this
country at the moment. Let's do the math :

RM6.25 x 11 millions = RM68.8 million (for cars)

RM1.50 x 8 millions = RM12 million (for motorcycles)

A cool total of RM81 million for the whole exercise per year.

Even if we use pareto principle and apply the 80/20 ratio, RM65
million (80% out of RM82 million) would still fall in their hands.

And this does not include the commission from RM200 subsidy to be given to each fishermen in the country!

With RM117 million already paid out during the first day, I wonder how much PMB will collect by March 2009.


This role was given to PMB and not JPJ because PMB is a public listed company (read: profit oriented) while JPJ is a government owned entity (read : no cost to public).

It's even funnier that those who own cars 2,000cc and above were told to claim their RM200 rebate from the JPJ, not PMB.

Why is this? Well, there are not many people with cars above 2,000cc in Malaysia anyway.

And JPJ do not impose any fees. This cunning way of trying to 'help' the poor while at the same time enriching oneself is very much prevalent in Pak Lah's administration.

What's worse, they are emptying the nation's coffers (from the
Treasury) in the form of cash rebates and transfer a percentage of it into their own pockets (through fees paid into PMB and ultimately into ECM's bank accounts).

And that my friends is how the poor get screwed to help the rich get even richer!
