SICKNESS OR WEAKNESS?

WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN OR WE JUST DON'T WANT TO LEARN!

The winds of change swept through this country and it brought down 4 BN states and the
Federal Territory. Whilst new governments, after some hiccups, are sprouting foliage, dark sirocco winds loom. Are the losers showing poor breeding, unable to take a beating like a man? After some have cheated and won, can they not pretend to be magnanimous in "victory"? In one breath the BN swore change would be the order of the new governance, in the next breath they drew their swords in defiance of the King. Is madness for power so overpowering that allegiance is so paper-thin? Is protecting bag-carriers so important that defiance of the ruling Monarch is peppered with threats?

Or is it because the days of plundering and looting are kind of over, or are otherwise numbered, that, the FAT CATS are deliriously pawing to maintain their "rights" of passage? Wasn't it the epicureans that brought down the Roman Empire? And did money play their part in the recruitment of protesters in Penang? And is shredding of official documents the flavour of the month?

But thank God, that 12 aduns decided to support Datuk Ahmad Said. Did good sense prevail or the fear of being banished that brought about this change of allegiance. Is allegiance a pendulum?
WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN? WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN?

How many roads must a man walk down

before you call him a man?

Yes, and how many seas must the white dove sail

before she sleeps in the sand?

Yes, and how many times must the cannon balls fly

before they're forever banned?

Chorus: The answer my friend is blowing in the wind;

The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many times must a man look up

before he can see the sky?

Yes, and how many ears must one man have

before he can hear people cry?

Yes, and how many deaths will it take till he he knows

that too many people have died?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind;

The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist

before it is washed to the sea?

Yes, and how many years can some people exist

before they're allowed to be free?

Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head

pretending that he just doesn't see?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind;

The answer is blowing in the wind.

politics is not as easy as some lazy careless song lyrics you see , cos multiple factors come into play . like the art of war , its the overall results that matter not what you think ! and then again there is this thing called time , as things are ever changing not static ! Your idealisttic concept of a stable world ( utopia ) does not exist and relfects your deep ignorance of the real world. Time to step out of the single malted my fried

You mean your pomposity and self-righteousness can deprive me of my right to even dream of change? My friend do you realise that vision WITHOUT ACTION is just a dream.this post is a humble man's contribution to ACTION. IF YOU CANNOT, OR REFUSE TO CHANGE, AT LEAST HAVE THE COURTESY TO STEP ASIDE FOR SOME OF US TO CHANGE.

and if you can climb down from your sandcastle, that careless song lyrics made the singer and lyricists millionaires. can you even smell the coffee...are you you physwically impaired that way?

errata: ....HAVE THE COURTESY TO STEP ASIDE FOR SOME OF US WHO WANT TO CHANGE THINGS.

I always believe that allegiance based upon man-made ideologies can never stand the test of time. Ideologies change in time and things that are acceptable for followers today may not be acceptable tomorrow.

That is why I find politics stupid.

As a Muslim, I have more faith with PAS who tried their best to follow our Noble Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saw@pbuh).

Politics without a complete religious guidance is bound to fail one day.

Dear Sir,

While there are some of us who will take time, effort and pain to express our hopes for a better Malaysia, there will always be others who are willing to let things be.

But we the committed citizens must not shy away from contributing any bit we can to help make this nation a better place, a better world. Why not?

And if there are others who find such positive efforts and sincere hopes offending, just disregard them. They are just part of the rot that is eating into the ribs of this nation.

There would have been no independence for this nation if leaders and sincere people did not hope for it; there would have been no progress if leaders did not dream of a better place for all.

JD, I used to look at you kids in class, 40-50 pairs of eager eyes fixed onto that raised platform that we occupy and I used to wonder if you kids dream about the future. Then I realised that there was no time for dreams amongst you. The kids in Sentul had to survive against many odds - poverty, pass exams, parents expectations, competition. I used to agonise over my handling of the kids...am I too strict? Am I expecting too much considering our different circumstances? Am I doing it right? these were daunting questions. but I finally relied on my Dad's warning when against his wishes I chose to be a teacher: Your kids spend most of their waking hours with you and maybe two/three hours a day with their parents. for every failure amongst your students, you are responsible because you are dealing with fifty different kids...you have to give equal attention to everyone...equally.If you can handle that and be accountable for their success or failure, then go ahead, be a teacher. And dad was a lowly meter reader with the then LLN, now Tenaga. In retrospect I had dreams...better to dream than do nothing...I had dream that most of you would bettEr your lot. Maybe those wobbly dreams WILLED into reality. I think they DID when I meet you guys at get-togethers and you guys talked about your success and the hard climb to get there. It sure jolts an old heart. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, JD.

Malaysia is more complex than normal with the 3 diverse cultures/religions trying to accomodate each other, but to no avail except loaded with hypocrisy, and waiting for the next selfish moves.

One is perceived as weak and lazy and needed help and seemingly becoming weaker and lazier from the so called help given.

Maybe PKR has a point to abolish the leaking NEP as such , but selfish man will invariably find loopholes and troubles will be part and parcel of life . Just look at Muslims and Christians , their unending selfish internal civil squabbles/killings are legendary.

Malaysia as a nation has intrinsic unsolvable problems ( quite normal ) as long as we have 3 mutually exclusive religions. Much as you will hate it, it is a matter of survival of the fittest as Darwin puts it in spite of what Mr Zorro , the Honorable One might wish and dream, tho its a noble effort as doing the best what one is capable of as a caring human being

Sadly a Realist no less

So much for the FIVE principles of Rukun Negara!
BELIEVE IN GOD
LOYALTY TO KING AND COUNTRY
UPHOLDING THE CONSTITUTION
RULE OF LAW
GOOD BEHAVIOUR AND MORALITY

What loads of garbage. These 5 principles are nothing but "Blowing in the winds".
Yet we had been made to memorise and recite them without second thoughts in our school days, and even today in some school assemblies!
This is truly BODOHLand and a land full of circuses. No prize for guessing correctly who is the Ringmaster.
To the Malays, who swear to be eternally loyal to the sultans, this whole episode is just a laughing stock! Worse still this is just BIADAK of the highest order.

Zorro,

Nice piece you have here. One of my favourite songs by Bob Dylan.Still have his original "The Freeweelin Bob Dylan" album. My other favourite on the same album is "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall"

My wife hates him, thinks he is always high on dope.I only play his music when she is not around.

Sorry, to take your mind off politics for a moment.

Humongous Cat u have there Ungker Zorro.

Just like this one, the fat cats of BN has been infected with the customary post-large meal lassitude. At our expense, for decades.

Now, even after being given an excruciatingly painful arse-kick by the rakyat they still can't reinvent.

They are still in that shocked disbelief. What ever stimulation only gets knee jerk reactions, or rather JERK reaction!

Mindset change doesn't come overnight. Especially if they REFUSE to learn.

Zorro,
Thanks for the blogroll.

Sorry mate, I am on the other side of the South China Sea, fondly named by Agnes Keith as "Land Below The Wind" which I would also call "The Land Of The Frogs".

This is where frogging (kataking)was invented by our innovative politicians. The "Land of the Frogs" and the "Land of the Hornbills" share similar traits, you can buy politicians at a price.

The irony is, the advocates of this morally wrong and despicable act of treachery is now trying to introduce an anti-hop law which they say was illegal when PBS introduced it in Sabah before, quoting freedom of association under the Federal Constitution as the excuse to repel the law.

How to support this kind of double standard BN craps.

I am writing under pseudonym. Will get in touch under email.

Have a nice day.

Dylan, baez and songwriters of that generation may be high on dope but, boy, aren't their lyrics prophetic?
I'd rather listen to their songs than to long-winded speeches and analyses, tq very much!

Zorro, while you have made reference to one of the greatest of songs ever with connotations that will stand the test of time and continue to be relevant for a long time to come, what exactly is the issue here?

We are a constitutional monarchy and the role of the rulers is clear. They are not meant to get involved in politics. Whilst the letter of the state constitution does spell out their role in the elective process this is a discretion they should exercise and not a prerogative (a word used by a learned friend of mine). Without getting into the depths of their role, suffice to say they have to act in accordance with the recommendations of the PM. Their discretion is called upon in letter where it states that they have to elect someone whom they believe has the support of the majority of the people. Whilst this clause is open to interpretation it does not mean they can choose to elect whomsoever they feel like.

There is a strong undercurrent of negative sentiment against the Government and the BN and rightly so. They will stand as testimonies as to how to truly get things wrong but let not this sentiment translate into unwarranted support. I for one do not wish to return to a feudal system of Monarchist administration. The Rulers have their place and I respect that, but the power vacuum the recent elections have created is resulting in some leveraging as people try to establish themselves in the new paradigm. Whatever the result, democracy and the right of individuals to representation must prevail rather then a return to homage and patronage.

Just to refresh some memories, an appeal for free and fair elections was made to the King. What became of that appeal? When Tun Salleh made an appeal to a former King Quote "All of us are disappointed with the various comments and accusations made by the Honourable Prime Minister against the Judiciary, not only outside but within the Parliament." What became of that appeal?

This strong undercurrent of negative sentiment against the BN which was a crutch and pillar to most Malaysians cannot be translated into a search for another crutch or pillar. We have to learn to stand on our own two feet, decide our destinies and hold those accountable whom we have empowered to administrate us. That is democracy.
