NAT, NAT, NETTLEsome NAT?

GRIMA WORMTONGUE if of course the acknowledged archetypal sycophant, flatterer, liar, and manipulator. Nat was well advised as a guest columnist not to reveal names. Nat put too much flesh and muscle to his skeleton. Brad Dourif would not be too pleased at your mis-potrayal of Grima Wormtongue. HERE

Let’s learn a bit more of who and what makes Grima Wormtongue:

The wise speak only of what they know, Gríma son of Gálmód. A witless worm have you become. Therefore be silent, and keep your forked tongue behind your teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a serving-man till the lightning falls.

—Gandalf, The Two Towers

See, Théoden, here is a snake! To slay it would be just. But it was not always as it now is. Once it was a man, and it did you service in its fashion.

—Gandalf, The Two Towers

So Nat, does John SCWen fit the bill as Grima? If it does you are safe; if the parallel is not drawn conclusively then how? And then there was this bit:

Bit by bit, GWT insinuated (or insulated?) himself into the top leadership of the party, including Anwar Ibrahim. The most apparent practical changes that were made were when a new set of GWT-aligned people came to occupy key positions in the party secretariat — notably the secretary-general and the newly-created position of communications chief.

Powerful lah, this Grima WormTongue. Some 2 years ago you told me that you had left the secretariat, yes? That could be why you may have been misinformed and thus misjudged who the real GMTs are! But that part about the communications chief and information chief sure is intriguingly comical, no? Cheers Nat.

LET THE CHESS MATCH BEGIN ANEW.

I went early to Zaid’s house hoping to chat before the press conference. I found him beside the pool with his leg up on the coffee table, apparently very relaxed. After the usual greetings he asked why I was wearing my shades. I replied that I was in a dark mood as I received word last night that he was going to quit PKR. I took off my shades when he assured me that that was only a thought.

He announced at the PC that he wanted Nurul Izzah to go for the Deputy President post. He would willingly step aside for her.

Many comments came in admonishing me for backing the wrong horse, accusing Zaid of manipulation, of flip flopping.

Think people, think strategy. In chess we call this checkmating the opponent. Who then will be Nurul’s opponent?

I hope Nurul will respond positively and I just pray DSAI will not be too harsh on Nurul unlike the time she declared her backing for Zaid.

ITS BRAVE TO GET INTO THE LION’S DEN AND COME OUT UNSCATHED.

Farish Noor I have great admiration for. Reading his flawlessly researched pieces has always been an intellectual treat. Today he drew an unlikely analogy in reference to Zaid Ibrahim’s interview in Utusan Malaysia. He compared the interview to the tiresome, chick-flicks and chick-pulp that is “The Desperate Housewives” (HERE)

I too have admired Zaid, albeit from a distance for many years until 2007 when we were both panel speakers at a forum together with Malik Imtiaz. He was then still in UMNO …..kind of like going into the Lion’s Den too, yes? But I liked him from the start, this unassuming, yes soft-spoken self-made man with the biggest law-firm in the country.

Farish said: allow me to remark on a rather silly thing done recently by at least one politician, Zaid Ibrahim.

Farish was referring to Zaid’s interview with Utusan. Silly? Or probably foolhardy. Zaid never minces his words. He says it as it is. He does not have to patronize anyone. He is who he is. This man’s aspirations is not to be PM. He just wants to make it such that the passage to Putrajaya must involve a clean slate…..the rakyat will only accept a party that will alleviate them from half a century of mismanagement. Zaid knows that he has the will and the expertise to assist in this. He pleads just for this. He steps on toes maybe, but it is more to awaken than to irritate. If he does not get this support from the party he chose, what else can he do? I just wonder. I worry for PKR. I worry about our collective effort towards a better Malaysia. I dread to think that the party that accepted Zaid and was able to bring PAS and DAP to be bedfellows will be the party to sabotage our passage to Putrajaya. I dread to think of this.

Dang I feel shitty and that is not the mood I want to be in to congratulate my former student Mohan on the opening of his BROTZEIT outlet at Mid Valley.

THE MOTHER OF ALL FUCK UPS!

The caliber of a party is judged by the quality of its members. Who will they choose? A leader or a Ring-Leader?

If Azmin loses, it will be the end of his political career….all along he has piggy-backed on DSAI whose future as the next PM will depend on the people on the Bench. So is he that desperate?

If there is an UMNO mole, it definitely is not Zaid. Zaid left UMNO on his own volition. Azmin followed Anwar when Anwar was sacked. He may have left UMNO to show loyalty to Anwar. I cannot put a finger on this loyalty. Was he kind of a son to Anwar. If he was, how come Kak Wan and Nurul have distanced themselves from him. To me this is not only perplexing but intriguingly mysterious.

Zaid followed nobody out of UMNO; he followed his conscience when he divorced himself from UMNO.

The People’s Declaration launched at the former Blog House, now Rumah Anak Bangsa Malaysia, weeks before GE12 , was endorsed by PKR; the Zaid authored Common Policy Platform was endorsed at the Pakatan Inaugural Convention (HERE) in Shah Alam; and finally Zaid’s manifesto all embraced this core value - REFORMASI.

I have over the years and during the election and by elections shouted myself hoarse this refrain. I will not hesitate to intimate that this clarion call gave birth to BERSIH that months later encouraged HINDRAF, which cumulatively, on 308, brought about the tsunamic negation of BN’s two-third strangle hold.

Over these last two weeks we have seen the wrecking ball hammering down the epitome of Reformasi – the PKR’s election process - and by no less than PKR itself – traitors in PKR, traitors amongst the old guards in PKR.

For the insipid YB Gwo Burne to declare in a press conference: I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PROTECT THE PARTY just about sums up what’s on my mind:

PKR STOP BASTARDIZING REFORMASI.

FUCK OFF AND GET OUT OF OUR FACE IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE METTLE AND SCROTAL GUMPTION TO CALL OFF THIS ON-GOING SHAM OF AN ELECTION.

LOOKS LIKE PKR IS NOT ONLY COPY-CATTING THE ELECTION COMMISSION BUT BETTERING IT.

REALLY LANCHEOW LAH, YOU MERCHANT SQUARE MOB.

BUT REALLY IT IS NOW UP TO THE 400,000 MEMBERS (MINUS THE 30% WHO ARE PERKASA MEMBERS) TO PROVE THAT THEY BELIEVE IN REFORMASI.

THE STAR'S NEW POSTER GIRL

A reader aware that I do not read the MSM asked me to read Star's story in Malaysia Today. Here it is:

By The Star

IPOH: Former DAP member and Jelapang assemblyman, Datuk Hee Yit Foong, who quit the party to become an independent, is not surprised over M. Kulasegaran’s plan to resign as Perak deputy chairman.

“I am glad I made the right move by leaving the party,” she said, adding that the problems in Perak DAP would remain as long as party chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and state secretary Nga Kor Ming were around.

“They do not have the party’s interest in mind,” she said, alleging that the two cousins were “power-crazy”.

“I feel sorry for Kulasegaran as whatever he says does not receive the support of the party leadership,” she added.

Hee, who quit the DAP last year, admitted that she was hated by many as her move had caused the downfall of the Pakatan Rakyat government in Perak.

She had said at the time that she had issues with the DAP when her privileges were taken away by Ngeh.

When I was 8 years old, autograph books were the in-thing. My mother bought me one and I made her the first to sign my autograph book. She just wrote:
Please a lady and they will say you are wonderful. I have kept to that maxim and cannot recall any lady who would want to send me to Dante's hell.....yet.

But my mum said LADY, not female, girl, woman.....LADY! Meaning you do not live up to being a Lady I will not go on all fours to please you. However I will not trample on tramps either.....meaning.......

So, what's a LADY. She is courageous, she stands by her convictions, she says it as it is, she is no cry-baby when somebody steals her pussy cookie, she is willing to step down and not step sell out. One such LADY is DAP firebrand Fong Po Kuan. She kept her dignity in adversity. From her performance in Parliament, BN would not even dare touch her with their million dollar ten foot pole.

THAT is a LADY,...a true blue, well-bred lady.

...........not Star's new poster girl and Perak's latest female datuk. Congratulations Star....you gave me a good reason to go out for some beers and Guiness at Sid's.

"BALOONS" IN MERCHANT SQUARE?

HANTU IV distracted me whilst I watching the tail-end of the foursome. He asked me about the list of eligible voters. I told him that the list of eligible voters in each division IS made available to contesting candidates. "That I know. But some names are missing on voting day", he fired back at me. I cut him short by assuring him that I would find out......US leading Europe 6-4......
