AN APOLOGY

YES, an apology is in order. Last week in answer to a few readers I posted why I did not comment on the MCA circus. I said that I did not want to comment on a dead party. I made a mistake. MCA is not dead, as in kaput. I volunteer that they are more a "living dead" now in ICU. Comatose! Vegetable! Period! Unless

Dead men tell no tales, but the near dead or living dead are sending fractious mixed signals. They did not vote according to the fixed menu. There was no fixed menu, only mixed vegetables. It was every man for himself. Of the 3 VPs, each are honchos of the three nominees for President. One claimed to be independent, that very same one who we all booed off the stage at a pre 2008 elections forum. Donald Duck that is.

Voting in Liow clearly shows the immaturity of the voting delegates. This guy wanted to be President too. When he received signals that two was good enough, he alligned himself to Chuah. When Ka Ting was proposed he jumped over to Ka Ting. If he is not a frog, he is a toad!
For the meantime, they will be comfortable thus

However, I have been reliably informed that women have more use for lap dogs than men. Men are more in favor of lap dancers. On the other hand it must be acknowledged that UMNO is adept in nurturing lap dogs into running dogs, no?

Now that Jibby has got his way and got rid of the thorn Tee Keat and have secured too little puppies on his lap I'd like to throw him a small challenge. Put healthy Chuah back to Health and transport Liow to Transport. Let's see how Liow will handle the PKFZ and his sidekick Wee Ka Siong and the other MCA sharks. Chuah, we will see what you have to say to PERKOSA's Godfather and its Chosen One. Remember you used your tool to great alacrity, use it now to prove that MCA represents the Chinese.  Otherwise get off the lap, go under the table for the crumbs.

A CANDLE FOR ZAIN AZRAI AT 8:30PM TONIGHT.

SINCE the birth of this blog ZAHARAN RAZAK'S blog ("I" of the Storm) has been on my side-bar. Our paths have not met but I feel an affinity with him as a blogger soul-mate. He wrote in his latest posting:

Zain Azrai, 12, In Terminal Coma: Please Offer Him A Prayer

My son Zain Azrai had convulsions from age six months until he was five years old. He was diagnosed as having tuberous sclerosis, a form of brain tumor with no cure. The epileptic fits stopped when he was five and we stopped giving him his medicine, Epilim.

.......Then about October last year, just after he turned 12, he had a relapse and the doctors decided to open up his skull and do something to his brain. He survived the operation but suffered a coma. He is now bed-ridden, not at home, but at the hospital receiving daily care and treatment. It is now almost six months he has been lying in a hospital bed. He is being fed through a tube and breathes through another tube attached to a hole in his throat. If his lungs get infected, the resultant secretions will have to be sucked out using a suction tube pushed through the hole in his throat. He is of course also wearing diapers.

Last night at 8:30pm we switched off our lights for an hour, being Earthday.

Tonight at 8:30pm I will light a candle on my lanai and shoot off a prayer for Zaharan, Zain and Nina . You too can, yes?

MY FRIDAY GUEST BLOGGER: SHANON SHAH @ THE NUT GRAPH.

Shanon Shah (shanonshah@thenutgraph.com) has been trying to balance careers as a singer-songwriter, playwright and human rights advocate, “trying” being the operative word. He has worked and volunteered with NGOs such as Sisters in Islam, Suaram, Amnesty International, the Malaysian AIDS Council, WAO, Awam and the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ). In 2006, Shanon was named Best Male Vocal in an Album at the 13th Anugerah Industri Muzik for his debut album Dilanda Cinta. His first full-length play Air Con premiered to rave reviews and packed houses during its July, 2008 run at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center. In 2009, it won several Boh Cameronian Arts awards including for best Malay script. In the past, Shanon has been a columnist for the New Straits Times and theSun. He has also been published in Kakiseni.com and in several book anthologies. His Malay-language column Secubit Garam runs every fortnight.
BACK when he was deputy prime minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak pledged that Malaysia would become "a role model to the Islamic world". He said this in the middle of the 2009 Kuala Terengganu by-election, which Najib's Barisan Nasional (BN) eventually lost to Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
Najib's pledge was poetic, since a "role model" is supposed to be an outstanding example of its kind, or an example of excellence that others might want to emulate. Could Najib have foreseen events such as the infamous cow-head protest, the "Allah" controversy, the ensuing arson attacks on churches and other houses of worship, and the syariah caning of three Muslim women when he promised this? It would be unfair to expect Najib to be clairvoyant. Still, he is now the prime minister.
And as premier, surely Najib has to reconcile these events which happened under his watch with the lofty promise he made more than a year ago. After all, a model Muslim country cannot be one where citizens' rights and liberties, including the right to be safe from violence, are trampled on by the state or non-state actors in the name of Islam.

MY SILENCE

MANY have whispered (some discretely, others embarrassingly LOUD) whilst some have screamed at me as to why I have made no comments on the ongoing MCA goings on. I have always been derisive as and when I comment on the MCA. OK this is the reason for my silence.

I DO NOT WISH TO WRITE

ABOUT
THE DEAD.

IT IS DISRESPECTFUL
TO DERIDE

THE DEAD.

BEST THEY

VERY NIPPY THIS YIP

BETCHA, the MCA on Sunday will have a name change: Malaysian Christian Association. They subscribe now to the RESURRECTION and the PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL SON.There is a plethora of Chirstian denominations, what's another one that will get the blessing of U-KNOW-WHO.

TIME TO COME OUT OF HIBERNATION

A comment by a reader kick-started this posting. I produce it verbatim together with the youtube presentation:

Bangkitlah !

We need joint forces from all level of RAKYAT.

The speech transcript from the clip is as below :-

“… I’m sorry but I don’t want to be an Emperor – that’s not my business – I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that.

We all want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone.

The way of life can be free and beautiful.
But we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned men’s souls –
has barricaded the world with hate;
has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.

We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in:
machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.

Our knowledge has made us cynical,
our cleverness hard and unkind.

We think too much and feel too little:
More than machinery we need humanity;
More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness.
Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

The airplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say “Do not despair”.

The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die and the power they took from the people , will return to the people and so long as men die [now] liberty will never perish. . .

Soldiers(RAKYAT) – don’t give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you – who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, as cannon fodder.

Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don’t hate – only the unloved hate. Only the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers(RAKYAT) – don’t fight for slavery, fight for liberty.

In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written
“the kingdom of God is within man ”
- not one man, nor a group of men – but in all men – in you, the people.

You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then in the name of democracy let’s use that power – let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security.
By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfil their promise, they never will.
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfil that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, do away with greed, with hate and intolerance.
Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.

Soldiers(RAKYAT) – in the name of democracy, let us all unite!
