MY PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2011

I HAVE CHOSEN JOSH HONG'S LATEST COLUMN
AS AN APT CITATION FOR THIS AWARD.
A COMMENT:

Zimbobwe My love and respect goes to the recently departed Vaclav Havel, whose life is indeed an inspiration to millions. Adam Adli's bold gesture of lowering a flag bearing Najib Razak's repugnant image will prove to be pivotal moment in our political history - it marks the moment when feudal despotism ceased to be a stupefying factor in the collective psyche of young Malaysians. The days of smug, arrogant, spoilt-brat, self-enriching, boring and pompous VVIPs are almost over! The angry knee-jerk reaction from the Umno samseng has only served as more grist for the mirth-provoking mill - one would think Adam had publicly pulled down the crime minister's underpants, thereby revealing to the world the man's pitiable deficiencies.

Adam Adli, you stand TALL!
What you did was most admirable, a sentiment shared by most Malaysians. Najib and his bunch of baboons can deny all they want. There'll be more to come - shock and awe come GE-13!

I liked what Josh Hong said, that Adam Adli's action 'marks the moment when feudal despotism ceased to be a stupefying factor in the collective psyche of young Malaysians.' I believe substantial Malaysians, esp Malay Muslim Malaysians are still trapped in the feudal mindset, partly due to culture and partly the religious belief that Muslims do not critique another Muslim in public. Thus Adam's action is significant in that it shows that some young Malaysians are now able to break free off their feudal mindset and prepared to publicly voice out. It is upon young Malaysians whom this country depends on to move forward and for a baby boomer like me, it is so heartening to see that Malays being the majority race are the ones who need to step out to bring change, are beginning to do just that. There is hope yet for Malaysia.

Lynn, spot on.It is the awakening of the young that is heartening. Yes, definitely there is still hope yet but not until our ABU mission sees fruition. Thanks for visiting....not the first time is it? A blessed and meaningful Christmas to you Lynn and hyours.

That Adam lowered the "flag" is indeed a measure of courage on his behalf. That is the easy part. It reminds me of Anwar Ibrahim (and Ibrahim ALi) when they were young. What is new? The difficult part is to convince others to change, millions of others, since just a few thousands of us will not be enough as we live in democracy.

The image of Adam Adli shoudl be immortalised into t-shirt desigh.
For too long the malay youth could not find a local idol. I hope the vendors at Petaling Street can take note to capitalise on this business opportunity.
