MY FRIDAY GUEST BLOGGER: JACQUELINE ANN SURIN

CONSIDER this. Despite the available evidence of Al Islam's unethical undercover report in which the magazine's Muslim journalist spat out the holy communion to photograph, no action is going to be taken. The Attorney-General's Chambers decided this despite the police reports and a memorandum lodged by Catholics about the insensitive treatment of a holy sacrament in Christianity.

Then consider this. Because some Muslims perceive that Islam is being challenged by a non-Muslim journalist, English-language daily The Star could potentially lose its publishing permit. At the same time, because some Muslim groups have taken offence at a statement by Sisters in Islam (SIS), the Muslim women's group will likely be investigated under Section 298A of the Penal Code for causing disharmony and disunity on grounds of religion.

What exactly do these developments tell us about the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration's idea of justice and fairness? And how can citizens make sense of how our government is responding to these issues?

sad to say a lot of NS DAP state assemblyperson are sleeping and has problem conversing in Bahasa Malaysia let alone attacting future Malay voters.

the best way to capture the malay votes is thru semangat gotong royong which is free and effective but the DAP is too arrogant to start any.

come the next GE 13 the DAP will be totally wiped out (unless drastic action is taken)

I'm a muslim myself. Growing up I've been taught to respect other religions and races both in school and by my parents. UMNO only practices bit and pieces of Islam , the pieces that suit them best. So it amazes me how many malay muslims actually believed that UMNO is standing up for Islam. Mind you being a malay doesn't automatically make you a muslim. It's only if you practice Islam then you can call yourself a muslim.

Islam preaches against racism and any race superiority concept, yet these people are shouting "ketuanan melayu". Islam teaches its followers to respect other religions, yet these people burn churches and drag cow heads. Islam asks its followers to behave exemplary, yet these people behave like thugs. How can you call yourself champions of Islam if first and foremost you already violated these simple rules?? If under attack put the blame on the Christians and Jews, typical UMNO defense. It's getting tiresome listening them blaming foreign countries, Christians, Jews etc etc but never themselves. I'm not perfect but who is? I'm just striving to be a good muslim and a good malaysian.

I'm all for free press.

I think anyone should be able to judge for themselves the pictures and the scoop.

Seriously, grow up. why the double standard and over-zealous defending of a certain place of worship?
