Gus was going to be landed with a bomb for repairs etc. A complete engine overhaul, hauling fees back to KL and probably a replacement engine change. I feel awful and guilty to have to put him through this. We took a hotel room that Jong had earlier booked and we might use it for only 3 hours before we meet Jong at 7:00am.
We OKT (Orang Kena Tahan) met at the DAP HQ where MB Datuk Seri Nizar was on hand to lend support. At 10:00am we proceeded, not to the Majistrate Court but to the Ibu Pejabat Daerah Ipoh.
The police presence was overwhelming. But we were not allowed to gain exit into the Ibu Pejabat. (The weapon scanners were not in place?) MB Nizar asked why? When they finally slided the gate wide enough for single entrance, the 64 of us were allowed in. Photographers and suporters were denied entry.
We were not allowed entry into the Ibu Pejab office and therefore loitered and waited for judgment on the porch. CID Chief ASS (oppss) ASP or DSP Glenn Anthony sheepishly announced that we could all go home until called again because investigations were not completed. Just like that!
We were told that we were arrested because we infringed the 500m injunction. So what more is there to investigate. What does One Stop Centre mean? They would have known that investigations were not completed and why did not they tell us earlier instead of telling us now. And why the CID involvement? What crime are they conjuring up. After a few questions that were not satisfactorily answered Glenn asked for one last question. I said: "No questions because you have not, will not or cannot give us any good answers." We tropped out of the site.
QUESTION: A reader "law-student" asked what we could be charged for:
Us criminals, OKTs or detainees returned back to the DAP where we met up with Perak Bloggers the indifatigable Dugong and Siti Aishah.
GUS & JONG, I OWE YOU A DEBT OF GRATITUDE.
THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED FRIENDSHIP.
