HANTU boasted that he intercepted this no-holds-barred communiqué whilst loitering along the fourth floor corridors of power. In fact what he meant was that he lifted this off one of the desks. “Intercepted”, he avers, is more acceptable than “lifted”.
However he refused to hand over the transcript but preferred to give me the gist of the communiqué:
Pak Lah agreed to hand over the reigns of power to Najib in 2010. But Najib’s boys want it in 2009.
Pak lah agreed after intense pressure but with a rejoinder: "I will step down as demanded by your people in March 2009, but I just hope you will not regret this unprecedented maneuver."
No man, even onery men, can give up a fight so easily…..unless they have a trump card up their sleeves.
Pak Lah is retiring….he has nothing to lose. His fourth floor boys are all well-connected and financially hinged. They, Pak Lah included, all have nothing to lose. None at all. KJ will live to fight another day. In fact if they lose some they gain more….kind of like a paradox.
But before they pack up they will plan to pack-off Najib and Rosie, like Pak Lah calling for a SNAP ELECTION before March 2009.* If elections are called, BN will be buried, as sure as night follows day and this will solve all the problems of cross-over by our Eastern brothers.
A sobering thought.
Is this possible SakmongkolAK47 and Pade Doh?
Give this a thought brothers, whilst I savor the velvety slide of a good malt.

(Whilst in KT for the by-elections, Pak Lah did have an audience with the King, it was reported.)

Everyone has got a card up his sleeve. Even Najib has one on Paklah. It's a 'You pull out yours and I'll pull out mine.' Mexican standoff. Paklah could have the upper hand if he plays it early. Playing it too late and Najib has the advantage. The most important factor is whether Paklah has the gumption to drag himself and his family thru mud if he initiates a showdown. Calling for a snap-election could neutralizes the possibility of mud slinging bewteen the two camps if PR wins. Most probably KJ would have made a favourable deal before the pronouncement of a snap poll.
Paklah just cannot leave office when the nation is in deep shit. The idea of Najib helming the country sends terrifying signals to all and sundry, especially for countries with domestic investments . Expect large corporation to pull their assets out of Malaysia with the excuse of global recession if the PM in waiting takes over. Paklah has one chance to right all his wrongs. Scrotal gumption comes into play.
Ooo interesting.. I hope while they are both knee-deep in mud trying to outdo each other, Anwar walks into office and takes over!
Boy I love Happy Endings! :)
LOL! Heck Z, this is definitely good tidings from Hantu.
It ain't over till the fat lady screams - "Waaaahhttt!!!! I can't be 1st Lady ah!!!"
1. If the PM does that, it's the end curtain for him, Najib, Barisn and UMNO. Everyone lose.
2. If he does not, he still lose. And give Barisan and UMNO a slim chance till the next GE to recover.
3. But if a snap welection is called and Barisan retains their simple majority, the PM would have basis to continue from the mandate of the electorate. And he need not have to deliver to Najib on a silver platter.
So, what's it gonna be? In a hypothetical percentage analysis -
No.1, Pak Lah gets 0 %
No.2, Pak Lah gets 0 %
No.3, Pak Lah has less than 50%
Get real. Dissolving parliament is not up to just the PM alone. Whoever controls the majority in parliament can become the PM. There is nothing to stop Najib from informing the King that he then has the confidence of the majority in parliament, and with the support of the current BN MPs (who surely realize that they are not shoo-ins come the next election), be appointed the next PM.
zorro,
before march 8 2008 you're one of the many ppl calling for Pak Lah;s resignation.
We did not want to see him at the helm. He caused too many destruction to Malaysia. Remember what we all were feeling two years ago?
Are you not happy that he is resigning? Are you saying now that he should stay?
Where is your principle?
Guru Besar
Wow - spectacular and bizzarre. No comment yet, I need to smoke over this explosive story.
Zorro,
Pak Lah may be sleepy but he is not that stupid, calling for a snap elections is like putting his head on the chopping board. It will be the end for UMNO and the BN, unless that's what he prefered out of anger to teach the UMNO boys a lesson, but than he is too nice a person to do that.
The whole Malaysian political situation boils down to the fact that we are unable to choose our Prime Minister.
We only have 2 choices at the moment: The Sleeping Prime Minister or The Sleep-Around Prime Minister.
I will never have the chance to choose either. I don’t understand what kind of democracy we are advocating.
I still think that until the day each Malaysian can vote DIRECTLY for their Prime Minister (something like the US or Taiwan Presidential elections), we are headed for social, economical and political decline.
Put your seatbelts on.
True or not Zorro? Hard to believe Pak Lah issued any ultimatum. The guy has no guts. But I hope your source is right. Our country might still have a chance yet.

Guru Besar,
I have done 806 postings since Jan 2007. Take your time and point out to me any of the 806 posts that "told or asked for Pak Lah to resignb". I was harsh but I never asked him to vacate his seat.
He is resigning on his own. He gave in to pressure. Who pressured him? The rakyat?
Did I say that he should stay? I said that he should call for a snap election, whilst still in office.
Guru Besar, you comprehension of this post is wanting. Give it a second read and try to understand, the syntax, the idiom, the nuance of the text. This post was never meant to be a nursery rhyme.
PUTRAJAYA, Jan 23 (Bernama) — Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail has classified the death of car theft suspect A. Kuhan while in police custody as murder.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department T. Murugiah said Abdul Gani contacted him this morning to inform him about the matter and to convey the matter to the victim’s family members and to the public.
“He had instructed the police to carry out thorough investigations,” he told reporters here.
He hoped that the victim’s family would cooperate fully in the impending investigations.
“In this respect, we should should give our full cooperation and not point fingers on any quarter,” he said.
Malaysian priest charged for attending rally
A Catholic priest and three lawmakers were among 21 people charged in a Malaysian court Friday for taking part in a public protest against tough internal security laws, their lawyer said.
The group -- Father Paulino Miranda, parliamentarian Tony Pua, and state representatives Ronnie Liu and Lau Weng San -- were arrested by police at the assembly in November last year.
"The 21 individuals were charged for participating in an unlawful assembly and face a second charge for failing to disperse as instructed by the police," lawyer Gobind Singh Deo told AFP.
All of the accused pleaded not guilty and have been released on bail. The court set a date of March 10 to decide when to hear the case.
If convicted, those in the group face a jail term of up to one year as well as a fine. Organisers of public protests in Malaysia must obtain a permit from police before holding an event.
"This is yet another dark moment in Malaysian legal history as they were merely exercising their constitutional right to assembly," the lawyer said.
Police broke up last year's rally calling for the abolition of Internal Security Act, which allows for indefinite detention without trial.
Yup Zorro,
Pak Lah should not resign and people like Guru Besar should go back to school. But unfortunately, wheels of fate turned counter clockwise. Anyhow, I have rebutted your posting at
