SPEAKING OUT WITH CLOUT.

If people would dare to speak unreservedly, there would be a good deal less mistrust and apprehensions in Malaysia. Wise men like Mohamad Tajuddin Mohamad Rasdi speak because they have something to say; Fools, aka Ibrahim Ali and his mentor, because they have to say something.

MOHAMAD TAJUDDIN MOHAMAD RASDI is professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia's School of Architecture. A much-read writer, he has authored over 30 books, including his latest, ‘Why Listen to the Vice-Chancellor?'
In his comment article in Malaysiakini he asked: Whither 'kesopanan dan kesusilaan' on 'Allah' issue? HERE

If this IA of a donkey is so steadfast wanting to burn the Malay version of the Holy Bible where the word "Allah" is mentioned, then may I suggest that we all contribute to buy him a plane ticket and fly him over to Jakarta,Indonesia to do the burning there. All the Holy Bibles in Indonesia are written in Malay language with the word "Allah". For good company despatch the Mamakkutty along too.

I am against perkasa bible burning and condemn as such. But I condemn those who push for bm bible to use Allah and politicizing the issue. This latest controversy has been unnecessarily initiated by the dumb LGE. He should have known that Malays are very upset over this issue. The only good thing now is that they're on similar footing to show their objections. If the non Muslims don't even care how a Muslim feel on this issue the Muslims should do likewise. We must press for referendum to setlle this issue of values.

This is only the start of a lot more things to come !
Please don't expect anything else from people who only know how to threaten people and the use of vulgar languages whenever they can't find an acceptable argument for the topics involved !
They are innate with such ability and nothing else.

Many believed that Malay radicals manufactured May 13 to grab political power and oust TAR. Since then the race and religion card is being used repeatedly to advance and ensure Umno's political hegemony and to cover up Umnoputras grab for the nation's financial resources under the guise of NEP. In the 1980s the internal power struggle between Ku Li and Mahathir, the latter manufactured an external enemy in the form of the Chinese to unite the Malays against an imaginary external threat. This divide and rule tactic of Umno continued until 2008. The 2008 political tsunami forced Umno to change its strategy and tactic in using race, religion (and royalty) to hang to the status quo by outsourcing its dirty work to Perkasa. We thought it not possible that Umno under Mahathir refined its divide and rule tactic to maintain political power by treason by selling "citizenship for vote" to foreigners. Exposed now they are even fanning the 3Rs fire harder and faster. 513 repeating itself ?

Dear Ellese A,
Peace be with You,
True, religion should not be made a political tool to divide our nation.
So, let us be more understanding of each other's faith, for us non-muslims, we too are equally confused as there seem to be difference of opinions on the term 'Allah' not from politicians but from the 'ulamas' as well. What we have hear so far is the fear that it may confuse Muslims. Maybe you could further explain why the Muslims do not allow the term to be used by other faiths.
For us Catholics, 'Allah' is used with reverence and respect by the Bahasa Malaysia-speaking community esp from Sabah and Sarawak. For those who practise the faith in English, Tamil and Mandarin, the term is not used.
I pray that we normal Malaysians can discuss and understand ourselves better.

Bro Z, I think DAP leaders like LGE should be blame for stirring up this shit of an "Allah" issue. It has already simmer down why the hell did he brought out the subject again just before/after Christmas? He shld know that such matters are very sensitive matters as a senior experience politician. By doing so, to me, you have lost more than you gain. Sometimes DAP like LGE also act and open their mouth wrong time wrong place. LGE, pl use your gray matter next time. The feed-back on your "loose canon" is quite adverse among the feelings on the ground. If you and PR are NOT CAREFUL Penang will go the same way like GERAKAN.Looks like you are loosing your wisdom and focus.

Fcuk all Muslim pretenders who try to claim sole propriety of the word Allah....just to show their arrogance and ignorance. Allah was used by many other faiths long before Islam even put it to print...so, who is pushing who? Only in this bolehland, these UMNO motherfcukers and deranged low beings cyber troopers, like projecting themselves as disgusting feral pigs in their binatang world....where might is right!

Tight Canon, No need to be emotional.By using chow kit road language only shows your poor up-bringing and what we call biadap in Malay. If you can't post rationally Uncle Z is not forcing you to bark like a undiscipline person. In all bloggings we must learn to agree to disagree even though we hold fast to certain stand.By me saying simmer down means we are all still waiting to hear the appeal by the AG against the 31 Dec 2009 High Court ruling. If you don't understand simply English, there is no need for you to be uncouth.Learn to grow up. I believe you can be my grand son and young mannered persons don't talk like this.

Sometimes there is a fine line between the BALANCE of doing what is RIGHT(in principle), and the price to pay for PEACE.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. In my opinion fairness and doing the right thing is more important than anything else. This is the basic of human rights. Lime we all know Allah exist BEFORE Islam. Islam has no claim to the word. No muslim in Arab is claiming exlusive rights to the word, so why is Malaysian muslims claiming exclusive use of the word? I should submit a Copyright and Registered Trademark for the word Allah with the Patent office and see what they have to say! Hahaha!

The RCI hearings proved one thing. Malaya has continued to break all the agreements reached in convincing Sabah Sarawak to be part of Malaysia.

Since Malaya has deliberately breached the agreements we have the right to take both countries out of Malaysia!

If we love our countries Sarawak or Sabah, we should be insisting on our rights to demand that we regain our independence!

Sarawak independent from 1841 to 1941, regained its independence on 22 July 1963. Sabah became independent on 31 August 1963. By 16 September they were both swallowed into Malaysia.

They were not give a chance to experience ruling themselves as independent countries for a time so as to consider the pros and cons of being part of Malaysia. Why?

We were forced into Malaysia and we suffered the consequences of the misrule abuse of power and plunder of our countries.

Sarawakians Sabahans wake up! Malaysia is not the solution for us.

Look at independent Brunei and Singapore.

Brunei was originally intended to be part of Malaysia and the Sultan wisely did not join when he realised that UMNO was out to grab Brunei oil wealth. Singapore an original partner in Malaysia had to get out when they realised that UMNO was out to dominate and control them

Today Brunei and Singapore are far ahead of Sabah Sarawak in terms of citizens have a fair deal. Singapore the size of Bakun dam is per head of population the richest country in the world.

They did it outside Malaysia.

So can we. TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!

Ellese A,

Why are you blaming LGE when BN is the one who started the controversy by banning the word and even when the High Court has ruled for the Christians, BN still wants to appeal and let the issue continue?

LGE was just speaking on behalf of Christians by asking BN to drop the case instead of prolonging it to the detriment of everyone. No Judge worth his law degree would dare take up the case and that is why the appeal is left hanging for so long.

My advice is also to drop the case and save the blushes and the embarassment. It would be better to discuss nicely with the Christians on how they could possibly change the Word and the time frame required. Whether they would do that is entirely up to them. You cannot force it through. Regards,
Adam.

Historically wise, "Allah" was taken from the Araimac/Syriac "alaha" which means "The God". When adopted into Arabic where vowels play a part, the last "a" was dropped and the vowel "l" was added. This is quite unique as only the word "Allah" has this feature. At this time, the Arabs were not yet introduced to Islam or the revered "Prophet Mohamad".
From my understanding, the Bahasa Indonesia Bible was translated from the Hebrew version of the Bible as Hebrew became the language of the day after Araimac. The Bahasa Malaysia bible is taken from the Indonesian version which has had the word "Allah" for many centuries.
I hope Ellese A. would be able to share his/her opinion as a Muslim to further enlighten us.
