The Special Bunch had lighted their candles and waited on the bleaches at PJ Club, waiting for the group from Amcorp Mall to converge onto the field. It would have been good to see you MPs and Aduns as a group move to the centre of the padang, lit your candles whilst we converge to meet you guys. Of course that never happened because you people were ostensibly MIA. Of course there were some Parkatan party members but we remember voting for you guys and you disappointed us.
DO YOU WANT TO REPRESENT US?
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHO PUT YOU THERE?
LET US KNOW NOW BEFORE GE13?
DO SOMETHING LIKE PUTTING UP THE NO TO ISA BILLBOARDS TO PROVE THAT WE CAN TRUST YOU TO DO SOMETHING FOR THE ABOLITION OF THE ISA.
THE POLICE WILL CONTINUE TO HARASS AND ARREST US BUT THEY CAN'T HARASS AND ARREST THOSE BILLBOARDS!
LET THE BILLBOARDS BE A TESTIMONY.
QUIT TALKING.
DO IT.

yes, pakatan states should put up more "No To ISA" billboards in their respective states asap.
The rakyat are being bullied left and right and all our efforts seem hopeless.
We want action now from all MPs and DUNs if they still want to be voted in GE13.
Tuan Zorro,
u should name those MPs & Aduns who were absent.
your blog is read by many & let them know how Pakatan MPs & Aduns behave these days.
Too busy with their internal squabbles.
In the final analysis, it's always the rakyat who stand alone.
Why do we place so much importance to them? Just boot them out.
jangan cepat merajuk brader ... lol i'm sure PKR MPs or ADUNs have their reasons being no show, whatever it is still gonna vote for change ...
I think Ipoh's Candlelight Vigil was the most successful last night despite the fact police were all over the place setting up road blocks at road junctions leading to Dataran Bandaran Ipoh as early as 6pm.
By 7something they were already diverting traffic at U-turns that they specially set up to frustrate would-be participants of the Candlelight vigil.
While the red-guards were vigilantly guarding the area adjacent to Dataran Bandaran Ipoh which is behind Parkson Grand, about 50 vigilers gave them the slip and managed to regroup at the front entrance of Parkson Grand on Brewster Road. They lighted up their candles and successfully displayed their "Mansuhkan ISA" banner - yeah, the "weapon" the Red Guards fear most! I managed to catch them there and started honking while other cars behind me followed. It was like carnival time! LOL!!
syabas Ipoh!
It's heartening to see young people doing this for a good cause. There is still hope for Malaysia. Only if the police haven't been so underhandedly arresting these ordinary folks. Shame on you UMNO!
Dear Rakyat,
Yes u talk big now saying u put PKR there.
Its pathetic of Malaysian of thinking they make things happen.
When BN were there, go n shout ur hearts out. There will be Back next election. Winning.
Go on whinning!!! phatetic rakyats, demand all u can fuck!
Yes, where were all the rest? Sitting comfortably at home whilst others do the fight against injustice for you????
Yes, we should feel the SHAME.

hi Zorro....i was at the Ipoh vigil - exactly as Jong described! we were getting support not only from the passing cars, but also the shoppers at Parkson Grand.
too bad PDRM spoilt our 'party'....
I sometimes wonder whether these protests are 'effective'. But in a way it IS. It gives the awareness and to this oppressive govt the people are against ISA.
Now whether PR MPs and ADUNs should be there I am not too sure. Of course they must there to show there support for the people and that they are also against ISA.
Looking at it these MPs and ADUNs have a plate full and getting arrested, attending courts and possibility charged and then disqualified as MPs and ADUNs I am not sure this is advisable.
Again there's the side of the argument. For the better that we want them to be available and existing to fight for us and not at risk of charged or ISA-ed for that matter. For that matter losing their seats and another buy-elections.
Yes, do they walk the talk then. Well their records shows. Some have been ISA-ed for ridiculous reasons.
We want them to work. They have to run this state, attend parliament, attend to people, address issues. They cannot be everywhere.
Yah, I know then should they not enter politics if they cannot serve! Remember they are also humans. They have limitations.
I rather they do a more 'effective' work as government then keeping on to act as opposition.
Do not always fault them when they do not appear at every protest.
They must act and perform strategically.
You may have better reasons to counter my arguments but NEVER NEVER one-sided arguments stand to be RIGHT OR JUSTIFIED!
IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT DOING THE RIGHT THING AND THE RIGHT TIMING!
Do the right thing but at the wrong timing is just as good as USELESS!
But then when is the right thing and right timing? That's when we separate the STRATEGIST AND THE MEDIOCRE!
The activists or concerned-citizens should carry on with the protest. It is necessary. Those who sacrificed I THANK ALL OF YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Not everyone can be like you. Some if arrested may lose their jobs. Yah, the employers are not going to be sympathetic, particularly, if the employer is UMNO/BN cronies.
Who will pay their bills, children educations etc.
Of course, we do not need to talk of those who are not bother at all over this ISA issue.
Cheers!
Z
PR's MPs' and ADUNs' were bz attending the DAP dinner in Klang. Both dinner and "No to ISA" started at the same time but at two different places, almost 30 km apart...:)
They can't be at two places at one time, do they? AND thus far these PR MPs' and ADUNs' still need to learn the art of fine juggling time and responsibilities...something they should have done when the Queen was in Shah Alam on 4th July 2010 where no top Selangor officials attended the function and only a handful of 200 spectators were there. In short, PR is failing...
bloody polis dogs! najib's 1Scr*w*d_Up_Msia!
Yes!!! Baru lah you are fair!!
Where the fuck were those PR Selangor & FT MPs and Aduns??
Where the fuck were Teresa Leong?? She talk so much cock and bull about justice and freedom, where were she???
Where were Nurul Izzah???
Where were that Tony Pua??? Even in his own are, PJU, he dont even go to the ground.
Where were that Lau Weng San??? Busy sucking up to Kit Siang?
Where were Ronnie Liu??? Busy issuing letters of support???
Gobind, you mana pergi tu hari oooi???
Loh Gwo Burne, where were you, dude?? Now, sudah jadi MP, you forgot who put you there is it??
Azmin Ali?? You mana hilang??
All these PR reps, now sitting happily in their high offices have forgotten their voters.
Dear nightcaller,
Dude, which one is more important, some dinner event or that anti ISA candlelight vigil??
I prefer my MPs and ADUNs not be bashed by rogue police.
I want them in one piece.
Meeting head on with these police is not the best solution. They can whack you but you can't even GENTLY TOUCH THEM or you will be charged for attempted violence against the police.
We all want the MPs and ADUNs to be in the frontline to get battering because we voted for them, isn't it? Is that THE reason we voted for them.
When they are handcuffed and battered then we say they are our MPs and ADUNs. We are then happy. We got good MPs and ADUNs. Eh? Something is wrong here!
Before write more, I declare I do not belong to any political parties. So I'm not siding anyone or bias.
I am standing on the sideline watching and doing a little a thinking.
We all know it is shit difficult to hold any peaceful protest whether you like or not. Yah, people's power must be shown or our constitutional rights. They don't give you a shit for your rights and yet using you keep using the same old tactic. Die die the same tactic. No creativity meh???
We all know majority people wants to abolish ISA but going on this you think this goons will listen. No way! It's their weapon for their survival. Die die they will not let go!
We must find many creative ways to get many unregistered voters to register themselves. We must reach the kampongs, smaller towns to get them to vote to change the government!
IT IS THESE VOTES WE ARE FIGHTING FOR. UNLESS WE GET THESE VOTES NOTHING WILL CHANGE. THIS REGIME IS CORRUPT TO THE CORE!!!
WAKE UP! WAKE UP!.
Use this energy to win voters in smaller towns. That's where this UMNO/BN are strong to buy votes. GET IT!
Majority of the people are migrating to bigger towns in search of better opportunities. The concentration is in these places where we all know have the least parliamentary seats. What's the point winning these seats when the majority seats in smaller towns are won easily by them????
MAY I SUGGEST THAT YOU ALL GO WITH THE DAP, PKR, PAS and our East Malaysia brothers and sisters to win the hearts and minds of the people in smaller towns. Make trips there. Spread it there.
It's not effective doing this Anti-ISA protest here. The medias are not selling your story. Get it.
Go to the smaller towns. Go go go there!
Like PCK Ltd says: Use your blain!!!
Thank you and I hope I make sense.
Think about it.
GIVE PAKATAN RAKYAT 2/3 MAJORITY IN THE NEXT GE!
THIS IS OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE. DO NOT BE SWAYED BY ANY OTHER THINGS!

Dear Zorro,
This is not the first time your blog remind those jokers on their PROMISES to the rakyat. What was suggested are straight forward and doable.Suddenly their ears goes into coma.
Even before 3-0-8,we were let down in our effort to persuade the opposition to unite. We even come out with the people's declaration and poster on Barisan Rakyat which we sold to the public for a ringgit each as Dap,like keadilan refuse to purchase the print at party level.
Does this mean all is lost and we will never see the type of change that forge our dreams.Fortunately the scripture comfort us that we can trust Tuhan and not to take his words in vain.
In these dark moments Zorro rides on and bless the SB.
Zorro,
u have to realize, if pr adun and MP go on a demo for anti ISA or whatever else, the police and AG will charge them, fine them more than rm2000 and for election and topple PR government.
Its better for ordinary PR members an rakyat to go on demos....
Najib is desperate for 2/3 majority and looking forward to get any chance to get it...remember tian chua, gobalakrishnan etc...
SPR is waiting too with their oledi preplanned new election boundaries....
Zorro,
If you shift your strategy to win votes in smaller towns these UMNO/BN ggons will shit in their pants.
This is the frontier of war. To win the mindset of the people not at the last minute campaigning.
Find how to reach the small town folks. Such as educating them the real truth.
The war is with mind set of these people!
Put the brains together there will be many creative ways to reach out to these people.
Zorro,
Don't you think the absence of the opposition MP's, etc was a good thing? If they had been present, the ruling party would have claimed that this was not a spontaneous or real movement by the rakyat and that it was actually the opposition party that was instigating the people to create mischieve.
Anon1008pm....at this stage when Pakatan says pigs annot fly, UMNO will come out and say pigs CAN fly. This is a GMI effort. It was never a political initiative. Members in political parties participated and we are grateful. Pakatan politicians were present in most candlelight vigils...a few were arrested. However, this time around not a single MP/Adun in Selangor/Wilaya were there to at least show support. Yes I heard there was some big fund-raising dinner on.If I had seen even one of them at 8:00pm i would be encouraged....because at least one made time to be with us BEFORE attending the dinner function.
That was my stand.
I agree with Schenker78.
It demonstrated that the Rakyat without political influence came together nation-wide for
1st Aug 2010 Candlelight Vigil - a people's effort in unity, fedup, yet still with hope in their hearts that ISA be abolished once and for all.
Time is running out and this fascist BN regime has no choice but to listen to the Rakyat, else....
Just one thing, even the so called rakyat also never turn up in thousands....there were only less than 100 or even less at pockets of places around malaysia???
Why???
Its because the ppl know the police will create havoc and might arrest them....They rather do silent protest than go out in numbers...
Even if they going to do a rally for Teoh BH, the chinese will say, they will vote out BN in the ballot box, but dont want to clash and get arrested by police in the rally.
Dont blame them. Malaysia is not USA where you can protest about anything and the police will actually give protection for any protest rally. In Malaysia which is a police state and dictatorship country, the Riot police in red gear, gassing and whacking and arrests is what u will get even for putting up with candles....
Be sensible in your writings Zorro and be logical and practical in commenting about pakatan. Do criticize them in real issues like the recent DAP councillor prob ....
Schenker78, thanks for your comments. It is gratefully noted. At no time have i ever said that our people should come out in great numbers. At all our candlelight vigils I have thanked the small numbers that were courageous enough to gather in public. I thanked them for making time on sunday evenings to be with us. RPK realised that we will continue to be twarted by the police and told me to continue to pursue this idea of bill boards. we succeeded with Penang. The other 3 states have not responded.
If you have been following this blog since 2007 you would conclude that whilst I do not belong to any PR party, I support and will continue to work towards a new government. A few weeks ago I declared that I would lay down my life for whatever it is worth for Malaysia, BUT I will not lay down my life for THIS present government.
In a recent meeting between Haris, Anwar and I, I told DSAI that I will continue my role as a devil's advocate without malice. I know he understood after that. I have worked with PAS, DAP and PKR in all the by-elections. I am aware of their internal problems. They are the best people to solve their internal problems and our interference is of value only if we know that they are hedging or covering up. I have been arrested supporting PR in Ipoh. The case is still on. I was called in for questioning in CCDI for Sedition. They are still investigating. In the meantime I will give my all to fight for change. If I have hurt anyone inadvertently in the process I just plead forgiveness and some understanding.
continue.....
Many have told me that it is a thankless task. It seems that way sometimes, but it is a task worth undertaking. It is payback time for me...payback for my past negligence in pretending that everything is fine and honkydorie....but it is not too late....the next tsunami is gathering pace and strength. With this belief and conviction I will strive on.
what i want is a 2 party system or more like the UK.....
we want the BN to change also so that we have a replacement for PR if needed in the future....which means a complete overhaul of UMNO BN with good leaders like Tengku Razaleigh, Dato Sabri AK47 and Aspan Alias....unfortunatly the whole of UMNO 2000 division members are so corrupt and hopeless and all should be in jail incld the whole of cabinet minister, PM, TPM and Musah Hasan and Ghaaaniii Pataaaail.....
With the whole of the system with terminal cancer stage 4, BN is absolutely hopeless incl its non malay component parties everywhere in Peninsular, sabah and sarawak....
Its too bad to see Indonesia have changed so much after the Suharto downfall that Indonesia is a well better place for the good malaysians to migrate if needed if the BN goin to continue ruling for the next 50yrs...
#....there were only less than 100 or even less at pockets of places around malaysia???
Why??? # - schenker78
- It's because the GMI leadership failed its part to bring awareness to gather support on its own for the planned candlelight vigil. Many who aren't blog readers tho in agreement with the abolishment of ISA, weren't aware of the vigil.
Had it not been for activist blogs like Zorro's, People's Parliament, SABM, Anilnetto etc calling for their readers support, the whole thing would have been a big flop!
