The answers I got ranged from the sublime to the ludicrous, depending on the degree of sobriety:
Borrow RM100 from a pessimist -- they don't expect it back.
For that Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
In giving me an answer, this guy asked instead:
Q. Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, an honest lawyer and an old drunk are walking down the street together when they simultaneously spot a hundred ringgit bill. Who gets it?
A. The old drunk, of course; the other three are mythical creatures.
Can kow-tim at drink n drive road block.
That's what I owe my great grandmother 6 years ago. Just remembered that. Thanks for bring up this RM100.
Sufficient for a good traditional massage minus fringe benefits.
A full tank of gas.
One night's beer if Gus dont up the price.
WHY DID I POSE THIS QUESTION?
Earlier, Hantu was describing to me what he witnessed recently in Batu Maung, Penang. Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was distributing RM100 to senior citizens, something never done before. These money were generated thru savings, like economy class travel etc. Before the distribution YB Malik and Guan Eng promised that this will be an annual affair besides the RM1000 to every student who qualifies for University and RM2000 for funeral expenses when a parent passes on.
What happened after the ceremony was what moved Hantu. An indian lady holding the hand of her mother approached Lim and Malik to once more say thank you to the YBs. This is what she said:
“She never received anything free in her life. She cried because she was so happy to get a free gift of RM100.”
The elderly recipient could not look at her benefactors, Malik and Lim. She looked away with eyes that must have been dabbed because of the tears shed a while ago.
At the Penang Sports Club, the conversation over drinks revolved around public affairs and presently somebody brings up the topic of the RM100 fairaward to warga emas, publicized in stories in newspapers.
“Well, I could have registered to receive the money and collected the voucher to claim the sum and donated it to charity,” said one member.
“The trouble is if I were to line up for the collection and somebody takes a picture of me and it appears in the press, that would be embarrassing,” said the same member.
Well, one person’s probable embarrassment could be
the occasion for another person’s felt gratitude.

To Umno sycophants, RM100 is small change. Umno bastards distribute millions or hundreds of thousands to their cronies. And they are doing it right now. And Umno bastards have the temerity to lodge police reports against Lim Guan Eng. And the biggest joke is police are adamant in investigating this largess. Is this justice 1 Malaysia? By the way, my uncle got his RM100. For him, it was not the money, it was recognition. Recognition for contributions to the state. He could never have imagined he could get recognised after all these years. But his greatest regret is seeing the Penang State government in trouble.
Dear Uncle Zorro
Its only RM100 but it means so much when one received it without having to do anything against their conscience and principle.
These golden citizens received their RM100 even without them asking for help.
And that's priceless for me...
DAP-led Penang state govt have done what the BN state govt cannot do since independence. It is not the amount, RM100 can't buy you much nowadays, it was the fact that the state govt appreciated the older folks and what they have put in for Penang over the long years. It is the RECOGNITION and APPRECIATION of the efforts of the older folks. May Penang never go back to BN control ever again! Long Live Pakatan!
Some ninxxxpoop says it is a gimmick but at least the current state govt can come up with this gesture.
For those who can remember and if I am not mistaken this guy was the one who was wheeling an elderly citizen for admission into a senior citizen's home with pictures splashed all over the dailies. Isnt that a gimmick too?
Golden Boy
I know many Umno friends. A lot of them get handsome salaries for being figurehead directors of companies. You can just imagine how much they make by being directors of a few companies. Many of them get RM1 million or more a year by lobbying for contracts. I have no problem with that. It's their arse luck. But I have a problem when some of these lucky bastards become very vocal when it comes to RM100 one-off payments to the poor, elderly and destitute in Penang. Some have even proudly lodged police reports against the Penang government. This is shocking, shameful. To these bastards, getting a few million a year for doing nothing is a god-given right. These bastards feel aggrieved that the poor and elderly are getting RM100. Tiuniamah.
Recognition
The people live for it
Even without money
It is the appreciation
A word of thanks
A word of encouragement
A word you do a good job
It is a way of life
People live to get recognition
Even a small gesture carries weight
Here we found the Bee Anne goons
Writing report to police and macc
$100 to the poor
It means a lot to get it free
A small gesture by PR
They take a chance making it good
We know the empire is crumbling
A slow way to die for good
Once it hits the ground goodbye!
We will live to see it happens

sigh, i'm 65 BUT not even a sen FREE from perak @#$%^&* ! SIGH !!
Brilliant DAP's PR strategy. Even though they know RM100 can't help much but as long as this can get votes, this is good tactic.
Uncle look at this:
http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/59321-hisham-denies-israeli-infiltration-but-orders-probe
See.. is it not stupid? Already denied yet still want to investigate.. No wonder RM 100 is nothing. They probably would spent RM 1,000,000 just for this.
Pure shit propaganda with low class publicity. The foundation laid by the previous government made it all possible for LGE. Claiming overall credit in two years. Chauvinistic leadership!!!

"Pure shit propaganda with low class publicity. The foundation laid by the previous government made it all possible for LGE. Claiming overall credit in two years. Chauvinistic leadership!!!" Anon
If good things happen, it's due to the foundation laid by the previous administration, if bad, it's all due to the current Pakatan Govt in Penang and Selangor even though it's only been 2 years!!??
My ass!
At least the majority of PEOPLE, irrespective of race, are getting something back from their State Govts and not just the Umnoputeras and croneys.
The previous Govts in Selangor from 1957-2007 did not give me back 1 cent. So, to LGE and Pakatan I say, WELL DONE!!
dpp
We are all of 1 race, the Human Race
anon 1035am : JIKA adalah , adakah ??
bodoh, satu sen pun ilek !
dpp Sir, NOT a sen from your previous
govts ah !?
Aiyah, one NO-inglish-spitting mb masuked millions to australia & another mau buy rm24,ooo,ooo/= mansion ...how to give you , be understanding lah, ok ?
Political gimmicks. How many of the elders involved. Only the poor elders turned up to collect. Instead of giving through welfare office LGE handed it personally to perform political illusion. RM.100 a year is about 27cents a day. What can you get for that amount? The poor guy shed tears because the amount can last a few days only. Not tears of gratitude. A robson's choice.
Gimmick, ploy or even fishing for supports by DAP or PR don't matter to the recipients who are in dire needs. Those elderly people who came forth to claim the MR100.00 may not know the significance or the motives behind the handouts. The fact that they came to claim the MR100.00 may mean that the amount is of some value to them or they may really need the money for their immediate use.If you don't have money MR100 is a lot to some.Other wise why there should be beggars on the street! Good work LGE, you are all hearts!I applaud you!
