GOOFER OF THE WEEK AWARD

She is reputed to be the only lady minister with a phalanx of PR consultants to answer odd, unreasonable, dodgy, naughty, insidious, non-sports, non-marital barbs from sports writers. If her machais are stumped, a rehearsed signal will have you deprived of the mike during a press conference and Mama Sports take over with the normal good slicing advice: "If you are not happy with what we are doing, then you should be a politician and stand for elections." So, was that why you became a politician, because you were not happy with what the Government was doing? Says a lot about you, huh?

Of course, I for one am not happy with you. I thought you opened the window to let in some fresh air but it shut by itself when you that sold that idea (which sucks) of having the DPM chair a Cabinet
Committee for Sports. They used to say that a donkey evolved when many committees were appointed to design a horse! You don't seem to have much control over your PR boys (any girls? should have if there are none....PR girls are more analytical....PR men tends to get giddy spinning.) Our Under 16 kids training with Arsenal (which will never happen, unless we pay Arsenal a few hundred million pounds and then we can spin that Arsenal has picked our boys to train with them)...acclimatisation centre ....what disrespect to our former PM Tun Razak, turning an internationally accredited research centre to house sportsmen and as ho(s)tel for Ministry of Sports officials or politicians look for free board and lodging in London. I was given a chance to look into the future and that was what I saw.

Of course I am angry. World Champion Karamjit not recognised by the Minister and her Ministry. Imagine what Karamjit can do if money spent on a core sport like football is directed his way. Citizen Nades, as usual, was spot on.

Of course I am angry.....Youth Nations Cup. The teams (to be invited, and dont be surprised if they reject the invitation) named were impressive. Is this just a good dream. Allocate the money to promote an idea; when it goes spoof, so will the money...spooooooof into (?). No worries, its people money, and Malaysians are very forgiving.

I too am not happy with what you are doing. I want to be a politician. Will you sponsor me? But I want to choose the party? Catch.....its 22.

you must be joking asking her to sponsor you. you wanna mix around with the wolves in sheep's clothing? hey, you surely are not the type; too direct and clean to make it in bn. continue what you are doing and be happy.
best wishes, zorro.

Malaysia has some sportspeople who can compete at the world level - Nicole David, Karamjit, Josiah, badminton, bowling (lane & lawn). Funny how the Minister/Ministry does not seem to be publicising their role in bringing these to the fore.

What happened to the PR team that Zorro speaks about ?

Monsterball,
What they have done, I agree, is unfair, but what baffles me is that MCA and MIC seems to be rather impotent. Why don't they demand the same kind of recognition? A case of taking care of my own backside la.

Do you think that they are ashamed that our football team can't even beat Laos? Say it to them and they will say, "ok we will build a 100K capacity stadium in each district". No not the RM300 million each stadium, we will build the RM900 million each stadium. Its more expensive because all the seats have numbers".

Monsterball
That's what I dream of, the opposition taking over, and many will laugh at me but I doesn't hurt to dream does it?

KTN, totall agree with you. MCA and MIC does not bother if it has nothing to do with their political agenda. They become feverishly active when they have to cover their ass. I dont expect these two ethnic component parties to do anything the Chinese and Indians can be proud of.

Monsgterball, I take great objection to your comment about Shar101, Of the many who visits this blog and contributes a lot of good sense and impactful observations, Shar 101 is one of them. Dreaming is a natural process, but day-dreaming is the pastime of the unfocused. Take your pick.

I just don't understand why the Swiss Open badminton finals was not telecast live on free TV. I had to go around and look for a house with Astro. Lack of sponsors? I don't think so. Certainly not lack of audience. Whenever our boys or girls reach semi-finals and or finals of ANY major sports tournaments be it badminton, squash, swimming, football, bowling, snooker, etc the government should make it a point to telecast them live on free TV. These are wholesome activity for the family to do. Champions become role models for other than motivates our youths. Countries like Singapore clamour to have their citizens stand on the podium so much so they import them like crazy. Yet, in our country....

KTN and Monsterball,

The day will come when the BN will be a minority. It might not be in my lifetime but given the example of the Congress Party in India and LDP in Japan who were once thought to be invincible, I believe that the rakyat deserves a truly democratic process which will eventually emerge for the good of all Malaysians.

UMNO, the opposition, that will make my day.
