SOME OF OUR YOUTHS MAKE ME SO PROUD OF THEM.

I have been often asked how come I do not look my age. My stock answer is: I have been around youth professionally as a teacher for 19 years; I have worked with youth in the manufacturing industry; I continue to be amongst youth when I conduct seminars and training. Even as a blogger today whenever I get the chance I engage the youthful crowd - Nat (who was once in the government guest-house for three days), his girlfriend, the fast-talking and no nonsense Politikus (Li Tsin of Malaysiakini), June Tan, now working for Greenpeace in NZ before she does her Phd next year in Singapore, Daphne Ling (Ipoh's Lady with the Lamp), my neignbor on Wheels Danny aka Kerp, bloggers Arifabbdul, Melvin, 11 year old blogger Aiman son of Husna who collects exotic grass for me, not forgetting Lulu, who "slaps" errant politicians very liberally and for free. And my latest girlfriend Meesh who apologised to Mrs Zorro on Saffron Night for the lipstick on my collar. Then there are my condo's Desperate Housewives (young mothers who gave up good jobs to care for their kids) Nolie, Pauline, Nani (not in Qarta), Pui Leng......and their kids whose voices pep me up everyday when they shriek or cry or fight in the playground. The kids, by the way, are giving me the cold shoulder because I have not been down in the playground of late (read no distribution of sweets) YES, ALL THESE YOUNG PEOPLE ENERGISE ME .

I NOW HAVE MORE FAITH IN OUR YOUTH. FOR A WHILE I THOUGHT THAT PASSING EXAMS AND LOOKING FOR JOBS TOOK THEM AWAY FROM THE REALITIES THAT IS MALAYSIA TODAY. NOT SO ACTUALLY.

Of late, I am seeing more youths at forums and they ask intelligent questions.

Meesh aka Michelle, a 24 year old journalist with TELL Magazine started a Facebook group themed VOTed and in three days got committment from 475 youths to get serious about voting in the next GE.

This is their logo. Go here for more (Dec18 posting)

I am not anti-boys, but you will agree that this inter-racial Malaysian cocktail you can never get in any part of the world. That's Malaysian YOUTH for you. On their young shoulders rest the future of this beautiful country, currently in the grip of an intellectually bankrupt and literally and unashamedly corrupt government. Muster your youthful force and give us a good government. Your votes can CHANGE Malaysia. Allow me to quote from Blogger Aisehman:

APOLOGIES TO ANIMAL-RIGHTS ACTIVISTS....DEFINITELY NO MALICE INTENDED EXCEPT OUR SPECIES IN PARLIAMENT.

WHEN YOU VOTE IN
MONKEYS
YOU
GET

PEANUTS!

Vote what are needed for a Good Country
not for any Race or Religion or Power!
——————————————
The country started with RACE as the first burden.
So POWER SHARING was the origin
After UNMO it came with RELIGION.
Until today these are the bases for rotten!

A proper country should have directions,
good Governance with good Leadership
good Administration with Rules and Regulations
good Harmony on Fairness and Equalities (HR in short).
good Education to promote HR and Social Responsibilities.

Only away from RACE and POLITICAL Religion with Sharing of Obligations, then they can go!

Any party RACIAL and POLITICALLY Religious should be discouraged to lead!
Anyone capable should take up posts and not for the SHARING of Power as the goal.
People be pride to those contributed and responsible more!

PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW WHAT A GOOD GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE
so to vote what are necessary to come.

UNMO is NOT the “Majority” party but to group more.
Similar regrouping will be needed for time to come!

The old BN knows all the holes!
They had not plugged
but only holding until they burst or done!!
The holes were started at least some 20 years ago!
ABBW was elected as the “plumber”
but he was “put in” to keep the holes
and many old “plumbers” were “elected” with hoping that more “old plumbers” will help.
But any holes he had plugged?
with so many “old plumbers” around?

————-
Knowing what to vote and who to vote
REGARDLESS of Race, Religion and Power important MOST!
————-
Vote the “rotten plumbers” out
so any regrouping be with good “plumbers”
to fix the many many holes!

Analysis on GE2004, splitting UNMO from BN shows:
(Data from http://www.thestar.com.my/election2004/default.asp

A.
1. Total registered: 10,273,501
2. Total voted: 7,116,817
3. Votes cast Successful Candidate: 4,521,997
*2.& 3.(excluding Single Candidate)
4. Spoiled:163,190

B. Votes for successful Candidate
Approx. %
1. Basis on voted: UNMO/MCA/MIC=29.21/9.75/2.64
2. Basis on Registered: UNMO/MCA/MIC=20.24/2.76/1.35
3. Seats for UNMO/MCA/MIC=109/31/9
4. Seats for UNMO/Rest BN=109/89

C. Even same number of votes to those previous "winners" (which is doubtful). If (Those Vote against + those not voting last) vote against the last winners of UNMO and other BN in GE2008, following could be expected:
1. Possible seats LOST:
UNMO/Rest of BN = 51/58
2. Or, Seats could REMAIN = 58/31
Total =89

So, UNMO & the rest of BN are very risky.

MOST PROBABLY THEY KNOW SO SOME OF THEM ARE BUSY NOW. ESPECIALLY MIC!
MCA & MIC may loose more if they continue to carry the image of UNMO!
===================================
Motivating those registered but not voting in last GE is important!!

Hey Uncle Zorro, you are only as 'young' as you feel! And 'old' is a relative term anyway! Maybe the beer is a good sign. You are ALL doing a great job!

Happy Christmas, by the way..!

Zorro,
Inspire our youth to be better voters of the future. If we can't change the present government during our time, let them not make the same mistake during their generation.
Way to go man.
Great to have finally met you in person at Kak Ton's MRT. Sorry for not being able to stay on much longer with the rest of you as I wanted to visit another friend who had suffered a second stroke.

Sir, I beg to differ. We are the ones they make monkeys of. For ain't our returns peanuts compared to their perks and allowances?

uncle zorro,

I'm happy to hear that you're proud to be with the young blood. As long as a person is young at heart, there's still things we can do on. Just look at how Mahathir do things even though he is at 82. He's still 'young at heart'
