ANOTHER BAG OF INSPIRATIONAL LIES?

As a former teacher I very much want to see us take the uphill task of bettering our education system which has taken a beating and a downward slide.

South Korea’s former education minister is among foreign experts who have given the thumbs up to Malaysia’s new education blueprint, to be unveiled tomorrow.

Speaking to reporters, Byong-Man Ahn said the reform plan is beyond anything his country has ever attempted.

"I confess that I very (much) envy what your country is doing now. The project is very huge and very detailed. We have never done that in Korea before," he said.

Will I be uncharitable if I volunteer that this and other experts are somebody who is a foreigner, has no responsibility for implementing the advice he gives.

Is this another load of “sound and fury signifying nothing?”

The intent is there, but implementation is lacking. The plans and the policies that are set out on paper and powerpoint’s glitzy presentations are generally in the right direction but where we have been less successful is being able to drive through the implementation. We hope that there will be better policy-making and hope to see projects implemented. We have lots of information that can be used for the implementation of projects.

Haven’t we grown accustomed to these over 5 decades?

Prior to 2008 I remember Badawi said: “We have also set up the national institute for ethics. This institute and also the implementation of the national integrity plan, that will certainly do the follow up that is necessary for this.” Ethics….what animal is that?

Management manages by making decisions and by seeing that those decisions are implemented.

We must lead in a different way... We must have active leaders, who gives strong direction and works with the government for its implementation. That is asking too much, no?

Did not Thomas Edison remind us that “The value of an idea lies in the USING of it.”

General consensus is that they will not find the time nor the inclination to implement….they just want your votes!

Consider the recent hoha about history to kickstart patriotism? Get rid of the hate machinery – Perkasa and BTN. Until the people are united as Malaysians, self preservation and actualization are more urgent. Like I have many times said in my postings: I will lay down my life for the country but not for this present government!

Patriots, to my mind are the real architects of change, and not the political legislators who implement change after the fact…..I remember this but forget who said this.

So are we to be moved by these inspirational lies thrown at us?

Will these EVER be implmented?which can neverreduced to p

If the Malaysian system is so good what is it that Malaysia especially the minister of education is sending thousand of NEM (Never Enough Money) students abroad to do their study ?
Also why is not coming from a country known for their standard of education ? The country is never known for their educational standard like Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and many others.
Above all a blind man must be full of envy for a man with one eye !

I seem to remember this DPM cum Education Minister was the one who proudly declared not too long ago that our education system was better than the UK,a number of European countries and even the USA?Why the sudden need for foreign expertise?By just holding a single portfolio he's already forgettable what more being responsible for an extra one that he obviously has no clue to!All he does is to push for his narrow malay agenda in education to the detriment of future generations of school children!ABU!!!

Even the standards of MU has been relegated down the ranks of the incompetents.MU which has once been the pride of Malaysians, and even to our neighbours to be of high educational standards has gone to the dogs.

We have to ask ourselves how low can the country's educational go.Maybe it is time that the parasite politicians should stay world's away from the education ministry. To have these parasites in charge of the education ministry is like putting a fox in charge of the henhouse.

"South Korea’s former education minister is among foreign experts,,"

Just because he was an education minister does not mean he's an expert in education or anything. That is especially true for our minsiter of education.

Besides, what works for Korea may not necessarily work for us; there is a huge difference in cultures.

This new system is also guaranteed to fail miserably as long as Malaysia does not practice meritocracy in employing and promoting educationists, headmasters, teachers, students and in awarding overseas scholarships.

Samsam: watched NTV7 Mandarin news at 10.30pm tonight, the brief interview of this Mr.Ahn from Korea mentioned that the success of the education plan would depend on the implementation and execution, apparently this part of his opinion was not reported by the MSMs or Bernama which tends to skew in their coverage. The same news also covered brief interviews of DAP's Tony Pua and Dr. Tan Seng Kiaw on their views of the blueprint.

It is a fact that whenever a new minister comes in, every single ministry will change their priorities. duties and even ethics. Looking at the education ministry it's even more "rojak" since now it is divided into two entities and ministries, one for primary education and the other tertiary. Logic dictates that education must be managed by a single ministry so that the process will be smooth and continuous but in Malaysia it's separate and unrelated. Serves us right for letting UMNO govern us for so long. Time for change and time for ABU!

"Nice to Have", rather than "Good to Have." A pre-election act.
Believe it or not,I believe the minister himself, or all of them have not read the blue print at the time of launch.
Other than the Korean, wonder what a British academician had to say?

Its as good as picking up a tin of Abalone, and after telling a friend, how good this is, and then put it back.

These robbers , conman, plunderers, liars and racist should never be believed. Find alternative education for your children elsewhere , the nearest being Singapore. For those who could afford, UK, Australia or the USA.

Believing these miscreants is a big big mistake that would eventually ruin the future of our children.

Uncle Zorro
Tan Ah Chai on NTV7 10.30pm Mandarin news basically said the plan is only as good as IMPLEMENTATION.
The launch event is like Jom Heboh Carnival BUT half past 6 administrator need to realize it.

The education minister from Barisan can roll out whatever BEST education policy he claims there is.

The BEST conviction of the quality of the plan that the education minister and the prime minister can ever give is to have their children and the children of all their Barisan warlords and cronies return IMMEDIATELY to Malaysia and be schooled in this so-call BEST education system of Malaysia for their entire education-life.

If they can do that IMMEDIATELY, GE13 will see BN winning big time.

Problem is these axxxholes would not even have their own children educated in Malaysia. So, how BEST can this new system be???

I just read that 50% of South Korea's education budget goes to the teaching of Maths and Science. Our BN media did not disclose this.
