UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 20: Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

Obviously this doesn't exist in our country.

BTW, FRU's water canons were sponsored by Syabas?

Brother! we were very kind with the police!!! Next time around instead of the police arresting us and we make the same move to arrest the police and see what will happen!!!
SO apa lagi! Itu polis pun bukan berani dia pun mahu air free tapi bodoh!

When it comes to the opposition the action is swift and sure.

What sort of rulers do Malaysia have when they dare not face their defenseless rakyat? Why are they hiding behind PDRM and the trucks? I think the reason is in their regal colour.

Taikohtai

Just wondering if there is a typo. Did you type Songkran (สงกรานต์), as in the Thai New Year or The Water Festival.

Or you really wanted to say Songkram (สงคราม) which means a war, battle, combat or fight?

zorro said...

Anon128pm....the latter (songkram)
is more appropriate. Songkran as I participated in years ago is friendly....pure water and not chemically laced.

zorro said...

Zash....spot on. However the chemical was PDRM's for sure.

Untold problems were caused for thousands of road users who paid road tax to get caught in massive traffic jams on a Sunday. Church goers, tourists, Sunday strollers, wedding ceremonies and a host of usual activities were disrupted for hours.

These riots are depriving a bigger majority of KL folks of their rights to visit the city centre.

Why disrupt public order in KL when it is a Selangor issue?

Anyway, there was no riot in Penang when water tariffs were raised recently. Why?

It puzzles a Sunday stroller like me and thousands of others. Pity to see some stranded vehicles due to over heating.

There must be a better way to submit memorandums. Post Laju? E-mail? Fed-ex?

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Email and Pos Laju get into the trash can like many of our complaints. For impact, the people wanted to show solidarity just to march to the Istana. If the police had just let them march peacefully, you Sunday strollers etc would not have been inconvenienced. A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING? REALLY?

"Untold problems were caused for thousands of road users who paid road tax to get caught in massive traffic jams on a Sunday. Church goers, tourists, Sunday strollers, wedding ceremonies and a host of usual activities were disrupted for hours." We are sorry that you got inconvenienced you people....but we braved the teargas and water canon for YOU people. A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING?

Senor Zorro,

It puts the PDRM in a difficult situation. To allow Sunday strollers their rights to roam or to allow marches through. Perhaps the PDRM used majority as the basis of their water spraying spree.

Surely there were more road tax payers on the roads in KL on that Sunday than the marching movement. The road tax payers pay the PDRM their salaries, while the marchers use the road for free.

So, it may be a possibility that the PDRM used that line of reasoning for those wanting a free bath.

As a matter of fairness, march as much as you want, but do it at 3 am.

This is akin to doing road repair work in KL during the day. We swear and curse at the mayhem because of it. So, most road repairs are done at 3 am. How's that?

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

Year in year out, how often we read in the newspapers writeups on birthdays of our Agong and Sultans that they have their subjects close at heart but are they really? I need to be convinced!

How many times have our 'royal guardians' show that they care or made any attempt to meet the the people/Rakyat whenever they come come seeking their royal advice and aid? Where are they whenever their subjects need them most? Sigh.

Anon1208.... massive traffic jams on a Sunday was cause by the KL International Motor Show and MAHA lah (ironicaly they ARE doing road repair works right infront of PWTC).

How about you doing your Sunday strolling at 3am.??

A STUPID MAN DOES NOTHING

I was heading to KL to meet up with some friends for high tea last Sunday, and got caught in a massive bloody jam. I was stucked in my car for almost 2 hours. My entire Sunday was spoilt because of this protest.

Pls spare a thought for those of us who want some peace and quiet on a Sunday.

Maybe all future protests or mega gatherings should be done outside of KL, or hold it in some stadium or something.

zorro said...

Anon627pm. Sure we will take the next protest out of KL....tell us where you are. We will be pleased to hold it in your place on a day you plan to meet with your friends in KL. By the way, did your world collapse? If you cannot take a two hour traffic jam, just stay in your kampong.
Anon617pm gave you the reasons. We forgive you. Which kampong you from?

Bro, anon617pm did not mention the BN big guns gathering at wisma MCA??
