LET'S NOT MISS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY....

I wanted very badly to join the protest against the attack on our aid flotilla. I couldn't risk another white lie to miss a doctor appointment like I did last week because he reminded me last night. I read about the SEPARATE protests mounted this morning. It is natural to be angry. But anger begets anger. It would have been great if all those groups had got together as Malaysians to send that signal to our brothers and sisters that despite all our differences in ideology, ethnicity and beliefs, we are united in our wishing them well. Did we miss a great opportunity?

I think not. Karen and I have decided that we will have a candlelight vigil this Sunday at 8pm in front of the MBPJ office. We will be soberly dressed....no Tees with message....no banners. We will just offer prayers. If our people come home safely by Sunday, it will be a thanksgiving vigil. Join us if you are free on Sunday night.

UPDATE AT 9:02PM

I AM GLAD THAT PAKATAN RAKYAT AND BN ARE TOGETHER ON THIS
PROTEST RALLY COME FRIDAY.

I HOPE NAJIB ACCEPTS THE INVITE.

How come no candle light vigils for all the innocents suicide-bombed to death (maimed is even worst) or killed defenseless with a bullet on head or ....???

ANY KILLING IS NO GOOD. DOES NOT MATTER BY WHOM OR WHAT FOR WHAT CAUSE.

Zorro, any form of discourse related to Israel is a step away from the edge of abyss. It is long in its history and deep in its roots.

Remind me strongly about the parable of the wheat and weed. The Good Lord points out that to let both grow and only at the harvest will both be separated, otherwise the wheat would be destroyed with the weed while growing.

Do what you need to do for not only the deads and injured of the flotilla but also for the people of Gaza.

Regards

Some people prefer to risk their lives overseas, rather then helping the less fortunate in home country. Sad.

There are lot of hypocrisy in this!.Real Peace activists don't behave like those in the float.

Those people on board were hoping for these type of response from IDF.So,please stop the bullshit!

What a bunch of hypocrites. They have been warned yet they went. You go near the bees nest and get stung lah! Why not send flotilla to North Korea and see what happens? And where's the protest when children were used as suicide bombers? Loss of life is not what Israel wanted but the "peace" activists were actually looking for a fight despite being warned.

Never be like the MSM, one sided. Read news below:

“Israel had made it clear over and over that they would not allow the activists, mainly from Turkey, to enter Gaza without first allowing their cargo to be inspected by Israeli authorities; repeated offers to allow the aid in following Israeli-approved checks were rebuffed and dismissed by the organisers of the convoy.

Against a backdrop of previous attempts to smuggle arms into Gaza under cover of humanitarian aid missions, such intransigence raised serious fears amongst Israeli military leaders and politicians that history was in danger of repeating itself.

Israel’s suspicious minds are not fuelled merely by paranoia: years of rocket fire and other terror attacks on Israeli civilians from within Gaza have left deep scars on the collective Israeli psyche, hence preventing further bloodshed on Israeli soil was of prime concern to all involved in the decision to intercept the Freedom Flotilla.

If the activists truly had nothing to hide, they could have complied with Israeli requests for transparency, rather than bluntly refusing to concede even an inch of ground over the matter.

Given the organisers’ obduracy, Israel felt it had little choice but to board and impound the ships.
The activists who attacked the IDF commandos had to know full well what they were doing. They had previously issued threat ….”

Thanks for the alternative read. My post is simply to express concern over the safety of our Malaysians who I believe were not up to any mischief.

Our malaysians 'victims' were used by certain 'authority' to challenge 'rejim zionis'. Astro Awani should focus on covering local politics fairly with truth instead of putting its staff in danger under the name of humanitarian in foreign land.

A candlelight vigil should be held for victims of injustice in the country. The biggest victim of injustice is Anwar Ibrahim. Let the Palestine handle their own problem. We have our own problem. We dont need to be kepochi (troublesome meddlers). We should not hold a vigil for jokers going to Palestine under the pretext of fighting for freedom. These jokers are nothing more than glorified holiday-makers whose expenses are borne by us, the tax-payers.
