FRIDAY GUEST COLUMNIST: Kee Thuan Chye.

After reading Thuan Chye’s “open letter” in which he unselfishly castigated the MCA President as “doodley-squat” ***this image invariably came to mind: monkeys (umno) targeting their poo at the MCA President.
***Of no significance, rank or importance. The word “doodle” was in wide slang usage throughout the 19th Century to mean a fool, a clueless soldier or a penis. The term was in wide use during the Great Depression and was joined by the updated version "diddly-shit" in the 1960s.

Some tit-bits:
Last August, after the Malaysian Chinese Economic Congress, when you (Soi Lek) called on the Government to gradually remove the 30 per cent Bumiputra equity in all sectors of the economy, you were immediately jumped upon by Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin. He even warned you about May 13.
A few days later, in your interview with a Malay-language newspaper, you had to soften what you had said, clearly showing your vulnerability.
Even Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein told you to “stick to the struggles of BN”. What are they? Do you know?
You were even a target of criticism at the Umno general assembly last October. A delegate slammed you for saying that the social contract should not be discussed openly.
Then at the BN convention last month, you called for a ban on the use of the term “Ketuanan Melayu”, and you told Umno it should not approve government policies during its supreme council meetings. But straight away, Hishammuddin said you had upset many BN leaders, including those in the MCA.
This boggles the mind. What you said was absolutely right – how could Umno take it upon itself to decide on government policies when it is only one of the component parties of BN? Does the MCA have no say? So how could MCA leaders be upset by what you said? Have they become Umnofied themselves? Have they become slaves of their masters? Or, as former Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin said, “running dogs”?

FINALLY IT IS OVER!

Twenty-one people, including federal and state lawmakers, arrested on 9 November 2008 were acquitted and discharged by a PJ sessions court Judge Hayatul Akma today for illegal assembly and not abiding by a police officer's order. They were charged two days before Chinese New Year in 2009. Eyewitnesses accounts of that night available HERE.

The prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case against the accused and police failed to show the roles played by the participants in the candlelight vigil in support of Bersih in 2008, the court in Petaling Jaya ruled. HERE

Was it easy passage for the 21? Not really. As a bailor I was present at most sessions although it was not necessary. My duty was to inform those I bailed to be present in court. However the cops visited me one night to inform me that I had to attend court as one of those I bailed was absenting himself from court hearings. He was arrested and was put into the lockup. We had to post another Rm500 to get his handcuffs off.

Prior to this the UMNO bloggers went to town to accuse RPK of misusing contributions made to him. HERE. Pete asked me to reply to this and I did HERE.

Yes, I will return the RM450 contributed by the parishioners of Church of Divine Mercy when I was short of bail money on that day.

BUGGER OFF, YOU CHARLATANS!

For God’s sake, say and do something sensible so that I don’t go confrontational and abrasive against our dearly beloved Ministers. Last week we had our Home Minister who innovatively jumped out of the box with his grand scheme to use the Mat Rempits to help in curbing crime (by monitoring and supervising the matamata?). Of course Khairy did not lay claim to this initiative, realizing that it was said at the sperm spur of an unguarded moment then.

Followed immediately we had the former Chief Justice one Tun Zaki who belittled East Malaysians by suggesting that we lower the entry criteria so that East Malaysians can gain entry to more government jobs. He was lambasted and ridiculed by the Sarawakians civil service, especially the local chapter of the teachers’ union. Leo Moggie anak Irok the longest serving Iban in the Federal Government played dumb. Let me digress a bit on Leo. Whilst having drinks at Kuching’s biggest hotel then, the Aurora, I was introduced to then CPO Ritchie. With him was Leo Moggie, then with some publishing company. When he found out that I was on a coaching assignment from KL, he said to me…..”You people are attempting to colonise US east Malaysians?” I was fully aware of the antipathy against us from the Peninsula and discretely evaded the remark. Today, not that I hope for, but if the opportunity presented itself I would say to him: “You allowed yourself to be colonized, you are the longest serving Iban federal minister and still remain a backward and the second poorest state in the Federation!” and downing with relish a straight Yamazaki single malt!

Back to the present….

Earlier this week the Minister of Education and Deputy Prime Minister unveiled a blueprint on education. Against all expectations nothing was mentioned about the teaching of Maths and Science in English. A former minister of education of South Korea was effusive in his praise for this blueprint the mainstream reported albeit it was not highlighted that 50% of South Korea’s education budget went to the teaching of Maths and Science in English! It is an uncontested fact that in the past 13 years, three Education Ministers have each produced Education Blueprint but Malaysian education standards have gone from bad to worse.

And a few days later, former inmate of the Fart Chamber, Deputy Minister of Education Puad unveiled to some 1 thousand odd parents and teachers how to spot tell-tale signs of homosexuality and lesbianism in their children. National News Agency Bernama was proud to reveal Puad as saying that being able to identify the signs will help contain the spread of the unhealthy lifestyle among the young, especially students. If fairy tales like these can breed fairies then the Teachers Foundation of Malaysia who organized such 10 seminars should find a place in the Guiness Book of Records, success which even BTN has failed so far to impress.

Dang! These marginalized kids are different from the majority of us but that does not mean that they are inferior! So don’t play God and I only wish some psychologist, psychiatrist, or some inspired shrink can come forward to enlighten these charlatans, so generous with their expert revelations!

EVERY DAY GOT ITS DOG!

For now every day got its dogs!

But the time is nigh when

The Companies Commission of Malaysia co-ordinated a meeting of 6 government agencies to investigate Suaram: “Whenever there is a complaint or a report which specifies suspicious activity, that is when we will investigate all matters in detail. It is not selective. If there is any suspicion, we will take action.

Here is my list of complaints for the respective relevant agencies to act:

Malaysia is the 10th laziest nation in the world! The shocking piece of finding came from an international study timed intentionally to coincide with the London Olympic Games.

Worse still, Malaysia turned out to be the most slothful nation by far in Southeast Asia, scoring 61.4% on the inactive index versus Cambodia's 11.2%, Myanmar's 12.7%, Vietnam's 15.3%, Thailand's 19.2%, Philippines' 23.7% and Indonesia's 29.8% . Perhaps due to its small size, neighboring Singapore was not on the survey of 122 countries grading about 89% of the world's population.

Which agency should act……stop look at each other….get cracking! Hold another meeting?

A recent poll, done on the eve of the Bersih 3.0 rally, shows that an overwhelming majority of people surveyed want the electoral roll to be cleaned up before the next general election.

According to independent polling group Merdeka Centre, an astounding 92 percent of the 1,019 people surveyed last month said the government should do this before the general election.

The results were almost unanimous across race, age group, gender, income and region, with more than 90 percent of each group answering in the positive.

The survey was conducted over two weeks - between April 14 and 26 - days before the mammoth Bersih rally that saw thousands of yellow-clad protesters on the streets of Kuala Lumpur demanding for clean and fair elections.

What for you all look at PDRM? The EC reps conveniently went to the Ladies W C!

Just because it's a VIP's children's applicaiton Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme gets this special privilege. First Shahrizat's hubby, then Jamaluddin Jarjis' son, former Chief Justice Tun Zaki's wife, now this, who else?

The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Seda) has admitted to a weakness in the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) online application process, leading to former chief secretary Mohd Sidek Hassan’s daughter Suzi Suliana obtaining a large chunk of the solar energy quota.

Hello, hello, why are you reps looking at the two EC blokes who just came back from the loo….lan…oh forget it….no one is responsible yah?

Malaysia is among the top 20 countries in the world when it comes to capital flight, according to the London-based Tax Justice Network.

According to a report by influential London-based daily The Guardian, Tax Justice Network's researcher James Henry estimated that US$283 billion (RM892 billion) has been transferred to tax havens from 1970 to 2010.

For comparison, the amount is three and a half times more than Malaysia's foreign debt of RM257.2 billion in 2011 and is second to Nigeria (US$306 billion or RM964 billion).

Tuan tuan dan puan puan, why is everybody looking at the floor…..the answer my friends is blowing in the wind!

An imam gets one year jail for throwing his slippers at a judge but the police is still looking for the guy who threw his shoe into a mosque in Kedah.

Whoa….why is everybody looking at the rest room again?

Whilst the imam serves his sentence a bowler gets off scot free for deflowering an underaged girl; a mechanic who never passed Form 3, whom the judges says has a future is also let off for raping an minor.

Why are you all grinning at the MACC guys…..you mean there was an element of corruption?

It is common knowledge that the PM is linked to the submarine deal (HERE)
Why everybody giving us those buffalo looks…..scared of Rosmah?

Musa Aman has been busy repeating over past weeks that he has nothing to do with Michael Chia and that to suggest otherwise was to defame him.

So consider the wording of this answer given by the Prime Minister on 21/6/12:

“The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has conducted investigations into the Michael Chia case which is linked to the Sabah chief minister. It has been completed and presented to the AGC for study and a decision”

Yes, that’s right. I heard you all murmuring…..AG

For the first time ever, the authorities are on the hunt for individuals accused of showing disrespect for public figures by means of stepping on their photograph or in one case, baring a bottom at their photograph. Currently, the police have identified 11 individuals accused of performing such acts during the eve of Merdeka Day at Dataran Merdeka. How fast they forgot the butt exercise of army veterans, the funeral service for LGE the tearing up of Koh Tsu Khoon’s pics and the urinating on Tok Guru and Tok Hadi’s banner image.

Dang! For the first time you guys are turning around and looking at the PDRM reps. That is an achievement!

An Inquiry confirmed that the three investigators cause Teoh Beng Hock to commit suicide. One was promoted and all three are still in MACC we are told.

Why looking right and left for the MACC chaps…..they left the building for the upper floors!

I could go on complaining but I will feature more during the GE campaign and that will be the day when every dog will have its day so until then remember this:

So enjoy the days you have left....you d

ANOTHER BAG OF INSPIRATIONAL LIES?

As a former teacher I very much want to see us take the uphill task of bettering our education system which has taken a beating and a downward slide.

South Korea’s former education minister is among foreign experts who have given the thumbs up to Malaysia’s new education blueprint, to be unveiled tomorrow.

Speaking to reporters, Byong-Man Ahn said the reform plan is beyond anything his country has ever attempted.

"I confess that I very (much) envy what your country is doing now. The project is very huge and very detailed. We have never done that in Korea before," he said.

Will I be uncharitable if I volunteer that this and other experts are somebody who is a foreigner, has no responsibility for implementing the advice he gives.

Is this another load of “sound and fury signifying nothing?”

The intent is there, but implementation is lacking. The plans and the policies that are set out on paper and powerpoint’s glitzy presentations are generally in the right direction but where we have been less successful is being able to drive through the implementation. We hope that there will be better policy-making and hope to see projects implemented. We have lots of information that can be used for the implementation of projects.

Haven’t we grown accustomed to these over 5 decades?

Prior to 2008 I remember Badawi said: “We have also set up the national institute for ethics. This institute and also the implementation of the national integrity plan, that will certainly do the follow up that is necessary for this.” Ethics….what animal is that?

Management manages by making decisions and by seeing that those decisions are implemented.

We must lead in a different way... We must have active leaders, who gives strong direction and works with the government for its implementation. That is asking too much, no?

Did not Thomas Edison remind us that “The value of an idea lies in the USING of it.”

General consensus is that they will not find the time nor the inclination to implement….they just want your votes!

Consider the recent hoha about history to kickstart patriotism? Get rid of the hate machinery – Perkasa and BTN. Until the people are united as Malaysians, self preservation and actualization are more urgent. Like I have many times said in my postings: I will lay down my life for the country but not for this present government!

Patriots, to my mind are the real architects of change, and not the political legislators who implement change after the fact…..I remember this but forget who said this.

So are we to be moved by these inspirational lies thrown at us?

Will these EVER be implmented?which can neverreduced to p

YES! I WAS SICK…..

SICK of what has been happening during the Merdeka festivities. I normally welcome the countdown with friends in the pubs. This year for obvious reason I wanted to do it differently…..join the yellow wave Janji Demokrasi more so after threats by the “petty” trader who traded in luxury cars . I made up my mind when the police announced that Janji Demokrasi was illegal at 1130am on the eve. I have said what was necessary HERE.

This year’s Merdeka Celebration was not only BASTARDISED but blatantly HIJACKED! It is no wonder that the young showed their distaste and anger in ways that only children do…..they throw tantrums…..and taking cues from certain adults ….showed butts and trampled on images of the living powerful. I do not condone such acts but some psychologist must explain in a study the sudden surge of youthful exuberance since Bersih 2.0. Suddenly the police have acted with such alacrity and have threatened to use the Sedition act when they did not lift a finger when a BN clad individual urinated on the images of Tok Guru and Tok Hadi.

And what is all this shit about asking for forgiveness! That is a cheap word today. Even the judiciary will let you off when you regret you rape under aged victims.

But this afternoon I feel better……there is still hope after I read THIS!

HAS HE LOST FAITH IN THE PDRM?

The Home Ministry wants to engage the mat rempit to help fight crime in the country. Describing the idea as out-of-the-box thinking, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the ministry had asked selected non-governmental organisations and groups to enlist the bikers' co-operation in the fight against crime.

Calling this an 'out-of-the-box thinking' goes to show that our minister is really suffering from a serious mental block or he is totally not qualified to hold the position. Any credible home minister would have instructed his top home security officials to come out with a comprehensive plan and strategy to curb and combat crime.

Granted that every Tom, Dick and Harry, at one time or other would endeavor to think outside the box. Unless of sound mind and body, those who stray outside the box often cannot find their way back to the box! When this occurs, we might be forced to accept as new “values” the result of straying too far away from the box – rempits and new “speakers”.

CARPE DIEM, PM!

Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common annual occasions, manufactured or otherwise and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them. You - weak or strong? Your media says you are the best PM to date.

Failure is not fatal. Failure should be our teacher, nor our undertaker. It should challenge us to new heights of accomplishments, not pull us to new depths of despair. Even if you fail in GE13 from honest failure UMNO can gain valuable experience for GE14.

I just hope this is not beyond you…..coming from St John’s this should not be too intriguing! It is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared. And I bet you your teachers did remind you that he who refuses to embrace a unique opportunity loses the prize as surely as if he had failed.

The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis.' One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger - but recognize the opportunity.

No-one gets an iron-clad guarantee of success. Certainly, factors like opportunity, luck and timing are important. But the backbone of success is usually found in old-fashioned, basic concepts like hard work, determination, good planning and perseverance. You worked and travelled hard, planned ahead, used resources available, have good advisor at home, your tweet followers are legions….the TAR boys and girls love you although they claim their chairman is kedukut, but most of all even your Rais have changed mode….WHAT else are you waiting for? CARPE DIEM sir!

JUST DO IT! ……….before the fruit flies attack!
