QUOTE OF THE WEEK.

“Few things are as annoying as the pot calling the kettle black.

TERRENCE NETTO

HERE

THIS QUOTE IS APT

CURRENTLY

CONSIDERING THAT

“STATUTORY RAPE”

WAS ADJUDGED

NOT CRIMINAL

AND THE COMPLAINANTS

WERE PUNISHED!

+++++

I read some many years ago on how an eastern European community punished a town rapist*. After ravaging the teen orphan he killed her. The town council kept the body of the victim in the morgue until the rapist was apprehended. He was after a week. He was strapped to a pole in a nearby forest. The ravaged victim was tied to him face to face. He died raving mad probably when decomposition set in and his cries jarred the still nights for two weeks. When the night cries ceased, the village elders went to the scene they found the murdered rape victim still in her funeral clothes curiously unblemished and no signs of decomposition. They buried her but left the rapist still tied to the pole. Months later the village elders went to the execution site but found no signs of skeletal parts except pieces of clothing. Months later some town folks found skeletal parts scattered over a vast area of the forest….probably the work of night scavenging carrions. Never again did a rape occur in that township. Lessons unlearned are lessons repeated. Lessons can be learned, yah?

*it could be Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. I have no way of confirming as the book I lent to someone never boomeranged back to me. (You will remember that that book was given to me by my Xavierian teacher Mr. Tan Teik Hooi. HERE) Maybe somebody could confirm….but of course it is not important, the source, that is.

VERY ONG, THIS JOHNNY ONG.

Remember this comment? HERE

Hey Zorro,

My Sunday was ruined by you guys. You people cause massive traffic jams and I was caught in it. Next time, maybe you should do you protests or whatever after midnight when there are less traffic.

April 26, 2011 9:12 PM

I requested some of my cyber-cartoonists –artists to design a radioactive storage chamber. Here is Johnny Ong’s contribution. I took the liberty to add a caption.

KUANTAN’S PPP WORKS!

YES, Kuantan’s PEOPLE POWER PRESSURE sure works. No celebration please! Just a muted “well-done” pat on the back will do. We will all celebrate when LYNAS packs up for good.

Lynas Corporation says the Malaysian government's review of its rare earths processing plant under construction won't set back the targeted completion date.

Shares in Lynas closed down 24 cents, or 9.8 per cent, at $2.21 after more than 47 million of the company's scrip had changed hands.

Malaysia's Minister of International Trade and Industry last week appointed an independent panel of international experts to review the health, safety and environmental aspects of Lynas' advanced material plant in the state of Pahang.

The minister, Y.B. Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamad, said there was public concern about the plant and he prohibited Lynas from importing raw materials from Australia into Malaysia until the review was completed.

Lynas on Wednesday said it was confident the review would confirm the plant was safe to workers and the community

LITTLE EMPEROR NER0s FIDDLING WITH OUR LIVES?

We are familiar with the idiom, “Nero fiddled whilst Rome burned”. My research revealed that the fiddle (violin) was discovered much later. Emperor Nero had a morbid obsession (see YouTube) for singing and is said to be playing the lyre, something akin to a harp. I further came upon this: According to Gregory Y. Titelman, "Nero fiddled while Rome burned" refers to "heedless and irresponsible behavior in the midst of a crisis. Legend has it that in A.D. 64 the emperor Nero (A.D. 37 - A.D. 68), last of the Caesars, set fire to Rome to see 'how Troy would look when it was in flames' and to serve as a suitable background for a recitation of his poetry while accompanying himself on the lyre."

But the English being English (the most beautiful language in the world), FIDDLE sounded better than lyre. Anachronistic, but it's impact that matters. You don’t lyre with the accounts….it sounds better when you fiddle with the books (of course our accountants today prefers to use the word “massage”, euphemistically it sounds more sexual and less jarring, this caressing, massaging) or “if you fiddle with that remote control one more time, you'll go to your room.” Or “an editor who fiddled with the facts” …. (Modern version, spin of course) ….or “the Election Commission playing second fiddle to the government in office…..and how about this…. he fiddled his way into a position of a toyboy….. or fiddle with the postal votes or gerrymandering! Yah….I can come up with more fiddles but I don’t want it said that I am always on the fiddle (dishonest)to the government!

So this question in regards to Bukit Merah (past and present) Bukit Koman (very much present) and Lynas (immediate present):

ARE OUR NEROs DISPLAYING HEEDLESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR WHILST THE COUNTRY IS SET TO RADIOACTIVE BURN? ARE OUR EMPERORS LOSING THEIR MINDS? ARE THEY WORSHIPPING MONEY? FIDDLING WITH OUR MONEY? DANG! STOP FIDDLING WITH OUR LIVES TOO!

1IDIOCY!

A communiqué from LYNAS:

Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd, is a subsidiary of Lynas Corporation Ltd, a multi-national, public listed company registered with the Australian Stock Exchange (code LYC). Our primary focus is to develop and lead the growth of the global Rare Earths industry by creating a reliable, fully integrated supply from mine direct to our customers. To realize our vision to be the world leader in Rare Earths, we are now constructing Lynas Advance Materials Plant (LAMP) within the Gebeng Industrial Estate (GIE) in Kuantan, Pahang to process the ore from our mine in Mt Weld. Towards this end, we would like to invite applicants to join our lunatic dynamic team in this very exciting phase of carving Malaysia’s name to lead the growth in the Rare Earths industry.

“carving Malaysia’s name to lead the growth in the Rare Earths industry”

And some idiots in Kuantan convinced another clutch of idiots in PutraJaya to allow what the Australian and Chinese governments did not allow…..refining rare earth in their land. For money our idiots say SELAMAT DATANG!

You know what this means? It is akin to allowing your daughter to marry a full-blown AIDS suitor just for the money. If this is not idiotic, then it must be LUNACY in its full-blown glory!

And the latest:

Lynas said that the radioactive waste will be stored in its plant until it can identify together with the Atomic Energy Licensing Board a suitable waste disposal site.

How could the Department of Environment and the AELB accept such an unconvincing disposal approach?

DOE and AELB and all the other ABBREVIATION circus going around, we can solve the problem whilst you decision makers blow your minds looking for a rat-brain solution of a suitable waste disposal site! Dang, Kuantanites are as mad as a cut snake. They are telling Lynas, politely, to rack off! Take your technicolor yawn (vomit) back to Oz.

The people of Kuantan will purchase a plot next to the Menteri Besar’s residence, design and pay for the storage bunker. Should he be dislodged at the impending GE13, the new Government will send the whole shebang back to Mount Weld in WA.

ANOTHER IDIOCY HERE

+++++

HELP!

I have been thinking that the Fart Chamber will still be maintained for minor offenders. For incorrigible, recalcitrant and clinically chronic offenders a radioactive storage dump might permanently cure these incurables!

As such I am appealing to the following to design one such receptacle as part of SERVICE TO THE NATION:

Reggie Lee,

Zunar,

Mob1900,

Daniel YKL,

Benny Loh

Johnny Ong.

and any undiscovered talent….

+++++

And Art Harun and Donplaypuks will write up the rationale for this dump site.

Can yah?

I already have one candidate on the waiting list. He wrote this comment(in pathetic English too):

AT LAST WE HAVE A CANDIDATE: 2011 FART CHAMBER INMATE!

Many have asked me why I have not condemned anyone of late into my FART CHAMBER! I told them that I am still waiting for a STINKO to appear. This stinker really deserves a long stay. His crime? He said that my friend Raja Petra sold out to UMNO. Like all of us, we have our little faults….but Pete is a trueblue PATRIOT. Patriots don’t sell out and neither do they hop into another pond when UNWANTED.

EASTER SUNDAY IN KUANTAN & GEBENG.

(thanks Duke & Claire for capturing those Sunday moments.)

This pic taken by the absent one!

roll call b4 setting out to Kuantan

we made it in time to attend the

Kuantan Citizens Forum.

Bukit Koman activists were well represented. The day before their bus was turned back to Raub. This morning they broke the blockade in a convoy of cars.

Datuk Fauzi, former MP gave the opening speech:

“Investors will only go to clean states like Penang and Selangor. Pahang is not a clean state considering that we welcomed controversial companies to Bukit Koman and Lynas”

The organizers acknowledged the support of the Barisan Rakyat Bloggers.

Undoubtedly a concerned family.

Part of a Sunday crowd of concerned Kuantan folks who listened to firsthand testimonies of birth deformities inflicted on Bukit Merah residents.

Three of us decided to make an unobtrusive visit to Gebeng and Lynas. Gebeng is the petrochemical hub. Facilities flanked both sides of Jalan Gebeng. Earlier we were informed that directives from the Mentri Besar went out to these companies to discourage their thousands of employees to support the protests. His earlier threat to close down Gebeng is now familiar. The people of Kuantan dared him to do just that.

At 5:00pm we joined a PAS led protest in Jalan 1/2

The day before the MB asked why only the Chinese were protesting Lynas. He was proved wrong again.

Not difficult to realize why parents brought their kids to this protest…

why mothers accompanied their daughters….

As usual, they were around….but they were different from what we are used to in KL.

In fact I went across the street to thank the officers. Two were a bit startled…..and by the way, they did not ask us to disperse.

On May 8 the Barisan Rakyat Bloggers will celebrate Mothers Day with the people of Kuantan, Pahang. Join the other thousand mothers who will gather there too.

Was an Easter Sunday well-spent.

WE HAVE TO COMPLETELY CASTRATE THE BN EUNUCHS.

IT IS A WEEK TO THE DAY OF THE SARAWAK ELECTIONS. About 45% of the less than one million Sarawakian voters voted for the opposition. The well-meaning pundits had their say. Problems were highlighted and SOLUTIONS were volunteered, some doable, some scholarly donnish. Solutions for a problem can be plucked from anywhere if the CAUSE of the problem is not identified, scrutinized and dissected into probable cause or most likely cause. Working from ground zero in Sibu and communicating with the others in Kuching and Miri it is beyond a doubt that the negation of a two-third majority by Pakatan Rakyat was solely because the ELECTION COMMISSION BLATANTLY STOLE THE ELECTIONS FOR TAIB AND THEIR MASTER, THE BN. I do not need to go into details of what I wrote about in my 12 day sojourn in Sibu – the sudden increase of postal votes, stairway dealings, blackouts in postal votes counting centres, refusal of a recount, money bags and blatant bribing of Tuai Rumahs (HERE) …..and the EC with their army of rabid rats are of course instructed and trained to be oblivious of these sinful acts.

Police reports of these daylight transgressions have been made but we already know how our kangaroo judges will hop-along masturbating away their integrity kow-towing to their slave-master.

We know BN will cheat big time with their array of ammunition and weapons at their disposal – chief of which is their whoring Election Commission. So it is the EC that is our numero uno ENEMY. Cripple the EC I say. Shame them! You and I and BERSIH 2.0 must do this. Bersih 2.0 is our best ally.

Hunker down into the bunkers and plan this assault. Cripple and CASTRATE the EC and you have a headless bleeding BN flapping about in death throes. It is time for Bersih 2.0 to mobilize People Power. Nip off whatever is left of the little pricks of the Eunuchs.

FORGET ABOUT REFORMASI FOR NOW! YOU CAN’T HAVE REFORMASI WITHOUT CHANGE. WITH UBAH, YOU CREATE THE ENVIRONMENT FOR REFORM.

IF THIS IS NOT INSOLENCE, IT MUST BE PRIGGISHLY SCORNFUL CONTEMPTUOUSNESS!

“If the people really feel strongly about it (protest against Lynas), then we can recommend for a total closure of Gebeng, and we shall see the reaction of the 20,000 people working there and that of their families,” the Menteri Besar, Adnan said, citing that every industry in Gebeng, the nation's chemical and petrochemical hub, produced some form of emission.

Yes, this was his challenge to the people of Gebeng. He had the gall to exhibit his haughtiness and conceitedness. In one disdainful sweep of his broom he has swept the residents of Gebeng like dirt by pompously challenging the 20,000 families in Gebeng. He smugly wants a reaction to his supercilious and audacious threat to close down Gebeng! Like as though God has spoken through his snootily cocky chosen messenger.

This is intriguing! Remember another Australian organization and Bukit Koman….the Aussies who uses cynide to extract gold tailings? As such this begs some questions:

a. Why Pahang?

b. Is it because it is the PM home-state?

c. Was the Sultan ever consulted?

For a start, just these three questions. More of course will follow…..that’s a promise.

IMPOSSIBLE, UNACHIEVABLE, UNATTAINABLE, UNDOABLE, UNREALISTIC, UNTHINKABLE?

TERRENCE NETTO WROTE: “If a mature politics is a pattern of creative responses to society's vast inertia and small margin for change, then the idea of a merger between DAP and Snap is one of the more stimulating propositions to emerge in recent times.

With one stroke, Alexander of Macedon solved all the mystery of the Gordian knot. A DAP-Snap merger, in one fell swoop, would break the racial mould in which Sarawak's politics has for the last four decades been mired.

Floated by the DAP's strategic director, Lim Kit Siang, in the immediate aftermath of his party's redoubtable showing in the Sarawak polls last Saturday, the idea is a win-win proposition for both parties.

READ ON HERE

I am glad that someone besides me thinks likewise. At Uncle Doms, just across the street from the DAP Bukit Assek Service Centre where I worked from, I told three DAP operatives that DAP at worst will win 12 out of 15 and at best 13 out of 15. I was told that I was too optimistic. When I said what I said in my posting of 23March HERE, one of my DAP friends told me I can dream on. But that’s me. Thinking the impossible and toying with probabilities…..you lose nothing anyway, this way.

In brief conversations with YB Lim Kit Siang we never talked about this possibility although it was at the tip of my tongue during supper after a ceremah. Neither did I broached this subject to YB Liew Chin Tong except to tell him that the Pakatan Rakyat Manifesto failed to include the 18 Point Agreement (Sarawak). Terrence, basing himself in Kuching, did communicate often with me but here again our conversations were more on what was happening than what could happen.

But I am glad that three people independently think alike. But others will say “Fools seldom differ”. Meantime, let’s just see how this develops, yah?

WILL LYNAS LEAVE US WITH THIS LEGACY THAT CHERNOBYL DID?

It was previously reported by the New York Times that Australian mining company Lynas Corporation has started construction on the world's biggest rare earth refinery in Pahang, which is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's home state.

The daily also wrote that Lynas has been given a one-year tax break, with an estimation that it could generate RM5 billion a year in exports starting late next year.

However, this sparked
radiation fears since a similar rare earth plant in Bukit Merah, Perak, run by Japanese company Mitsubishi, which has since been closed, resulted in several cases of leukemia, cancer and birth deformities among nearby residents in the early 90s.

Mitsubishi is reported to be undertaking a stealthy but expensive RM100 million clean-up in the area.

Chronic exposure to radiation does more than increase the risk of cancers. It threatens the immune system, exacerbates pre-existing conditions, affects fertility, increases the rate of birth defects, and can retard physical and mental development.

I DO NOT APOLOGISE IF THESE PICTURES OFFEND.

I HAVE NO INTENTION TO OFFEND

NOR PRETEND THAT THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC.

Yes, lets hear from the workers and their families.
