GOODBYE SEGAMAT.....FOR NOW.

It’s good to be back and rested…..but sad that we had to leave our friends in Segamat to clean up the aftermath mess of the flood. We are grateful to Ms Wong who harbored us for the duration of the Tenang campaign. Her homestay is beyond reproach….impeccably clean, facilities many stars above most of the hotels in town (ask Dave and companions who stayed in the supposedly best hotel in town!). It is unfortunate that #1 Jalan Pelangi 1 was affected by the flood.

Should any of you happen to need an overnight stay in Segamat , call Ms Wong 019-7677488. ….all 5 rooms have bathroom attached, own TV and air-con. Both floors have separate wifi connectivity! What else do you want, yah?....and for RM50…..and kitchen facilities! I told her to raise the price and she just smiled…..two electronic gates and parking for minimum 6 cars! I am already missing this place.

We were booked into this homestay thanks to the Virgin’s contact Chew and Cheok who were always available throughout our sojourn in Segamat. Chew offered us a room when he learnt that we slept in our cars on Sunday night.

You never know…..we might get into Segamat on our way to Merlimau…just to savor the delicacies we missed. We managed Yik Kee’s wantan mee, sampled the breakfast fare of the reputable Nanyang and Nam Kwang kopi tiams.
