HAS A NEW DAY DAWNED ON MACC?

I want to believe that it has. I want to believe that ABu Kassim will use his new vacuum cleaner to suck out all that was swept under the old MACC carpet. I hope he will not purchase a new carpet from the favored carpetman. If there ever is a transparent carpet I hope Abu Kassim will purchase it. Unless he has a new set of dentures he should use it effectively as the former administration had not bite.

No, really, I hope he will make a difference. I like his physiognomy. I am not an expert but my gut-feel has seldom betrayed me. Until I am proven wrong, I will continue to think that this anointed one will wash away the stigma of being a BN tadpole.

This may be wishful thinking on my part, but I just hope he has it in him to declare: FROM NOW ON THE MACC WILL ANSWER ONLY TO PARLIAMENT aka THE RAKYAT!

Will he? Corruption is the greatest evil in this otherwise blessed country. If corruption is allowed to continue unabated and the MACC continues to be impotent, then Abu Kassim is just a eunuch serf to an unscrupulous master. So will he make that declaration? If he can find the courage to make this unequivocal stand, the rakyat will root for him! Only a GREAT man will do this. Could he be the first? Abu Kassim, stand up and be counted. CARPE DIEM! SEIZE THE DAY!

UPDATE 5January2010....on second thought let me advise Kassim if integrity is more important than keeping the job - ask that all Parliamentarians, ALL, declare their assets. And while he is at it, the credibility of his organisation can be wrecked if everything, investigation et al will at the end of the day depend on whether the AG is willing to prosecute. The AG is the most powerful man in the country. This power must be removed. Can Kassim initiate this. Until you can swing this, my national flag will continue to give out its distress signal. Let us pray.

  2. Yeah, MACC should be answerable to Parliament aka Rakyat to catch the big fat fishes! Now MACC is only answerable to the Big Fat Fishhead to catch the ikan billis!

  4. If he goes after BN fellas, it would be seen as siding the opposition. If he goes after the PR fellas, it would be seen as siding the BN.

It is like being a referee at a football match. Losers may even burn stadiums.

Best is do nothing, then there is nothing to blame.

    A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.

  7. How I wish you are right Zorro! If you are right we may not even need GE13! A lot of the big fat fishes (sadly enough even those in the opposition) would have been caught, imprisoned and sacked and we'll get a brand new government just through by-elections!

  8. Sounds like Mission Impossible ?

Have heard many many encouranging and refreshing speeches on fighting corruption and end of the day ABUK PUN TAK ADA.

Still remember the day the ZZZZ PM officiated the opening of the commission ? Bukan main semangat , we are independance lah, no boundary lah and bla..bla...bla...
    ADA NAMPAK ABUK ?

If you want to see changes then the only way is go for a TOTAL CHANGE and overhaul.Anyway who makes up the parliament ? so what's the big deal answerable to the Parliament only ?

You will get disappeared before you cud even start to call name.

  11. Uncle Zorro,

I hope that your faith in this Abu Kassim is not misplaced. Already the MACC's first action of the day under this new MACC chief in lodging a police report against the Thai pathologist Dr. Pornthip does not augur well for this new MACC chief.

No apologies for my negativity but there aren't just any good apples in the rotten MACC barrel.

  17. He looks alright, does not have the cunning look of the last one. However whether he is effective or not in combating corruption regardless of race and creed is waiting to be seen.

My prognosis is,he won't last long if he does his job without fear or favour.

  18. fat hopes, zorro.

its a given. to sit at the pinnacle, you need to be UMNO friendly.

  20. Like he said, corruption must be fought together. Give this man a chance. Rather than judging him before he start. Sometimes we who talk a lot actually do nothing, only comdemning.

  21. Can the leopard change its spots ?
Fat hope and the only way this country can change is a new government so don't forget to cast your votes in the coming GE and kick the sons of bitches from UMNO from staying on running the country.
And they said they are going to change their policies
is this use of Allah by Malay Muslims a change of policy ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Zorro,

Have you thought about the Allah issue being used by UMNO to gain lost support?
They now appear to be the fighters of Islam and the defender of the word Allah, an issue very sensitive to the malays. Rightly or wrongly, not me to say.

Now what have you all done? Nik aziz may be right when he said Allah is for all, but it is an issue of perception isnt it?

You have allowed UMNO to step up and become "heroes" of the people. And they have made up alot of lost support by acting like champions of the people.

I saw you in the news in court. I want you to know that this small group of people at the Herald will single handedly ruin all the progress of march 08. I hope you know what you have done.

    Morons!

  23. When ACA changed its name to MACC, did it change for the better?

With UNMO around, I do not think MACC will change for the better even if its No. 1 man changes.

  24. What ,after Big fish ?

I think you better go to the stadium (still around ?)to enjoy the fish head curry.

    Anaconda.

  25. Yes Zorro, let's hope he is the one who will declare that MACC is answerable to the Parliament only.

Meanwhile let's continue to pray steadfastly for a just government for the next GE.

    God bless Malaysia !

  26. Bernard, I know against all odds you would want to believe that he might just be the one who could turn things around, and so do I and many others. However, deep inside, we just know it is impossible for them to place a righteous man at the helm of that Agency.

  27. I think he will be the same like his former bozz. If he is truly independent, he won't be able to take over the head honcho's job... U Must Not Oppose party would have found a more suitable and more "compliant" person to take over and this chap would be holding the door open for him or her to walk in! Yeah, I am sort of pessimistic but who wouldn't, looking at the track record of govt agencies and enforcement authorities. Everytime, a new head honcho is nominated, inevitably he is a stooge of U Must Not Oppose party.

  28. I share my 2010 dream and wishes with you. Let pray positively and hope positive that it shall meet our 2010 dream come true.

Dare to dream is where at least there is hope for truth to prevail. The rest we leave it to God to play his role and responsibility to finish his task too. We need God help and assistance too in this important task.

Alternatively, if 20% of 27 Million Malaysian make a curse or swear it everyday or put some pressure it, it will happen in 2010. Malaysian your role to swear, pray, "curse" etc for positive changes to take place.

  31. We all feel the same way too. But don't hold your breath because it will not happen. As long as the MACC reports to the Chief Executive, all hope for a free and independent MACC is not an option. No way Jose. Sorry to dash your hope but I'd rather be wrong than naive. That's the story of our lives, brother.

  33. No need to go far to prove anything, just tell the truth of
TBH and we know one is ready for change.
If not , just forget about it.

My last cent- nothing gonna change as long as they are still in power.

We dont need no judges and Let the rakyat be the judges comes the GE , not forgetting the unseen judges- Altantunya and TBH.

  36. How can he ?
He can only find Toyo living in a 24 million ringgit palace free of corruption and charged the low rank and file RMAF officer in court. Even then the officer charged is a non Malay.
How many corrupted UMNO members were charged in court for corruption in the last three years, not to go too far back ?
His blood is filled with the corrupted cultures that it is impossible for him to know that it is wrong or a crime to be corrupted.

  37. Not being negative , the answer is defintely NO .

If you speak the truth either you will be oppressed or out of job.
