  5. What about all those completed projects that were approved and built during his time and today lay slowly but surely rotting away? The other day 3 of us had to walk up 8 floors to get to where we were staying the night at Marina Bay Resort...I think it was called the Straits Villa View or something like that. The place has not seen a coat of paint since it was completed and things are falling apart alright. And that is just one of many.

  6. So you think the locals can't see that (abandoned projects means problem with financing or mismanagement by the contractors).
Usually government projects do not face financing problems as then funds are allocated.
Abandoned projects are more common to private developers due to financing issue.
So in government projects, it's mainly due to the contractors having problems. It's not unusual.

So to pick on these are kind of naive because on the government side, steps were already taken to implement the projects, so a plus for government implementation, but a minus to the contractor ( and predictably you will point the contractors are gov cronies ). But hey, look around and count the percentage of such projects vs successful projects. So no issue then....

  7. Dear Zorro,
Once again, you are trying to CON your readers by simply putting up some ambigious pictures.
You should provide more details to convince your readers!
From the response, many will believe without THINKING!
    How sad!!!

  8. Charlie, why dont you come make a trip to PD and I will personally take you on a guided tour of these failed projects. You misjudge my readers by saying: From the response, many will believe without THINKING!
    How sad!!!
Come Oscar, I will buy you a meal before the tour. If you need petrol money, it is available. If you wish to stay and (to use your own words) "provide more details to convince your readers, I will sponsor your stay in PD. How's that for a start?

  11. Those who do not live in Bagan Pinang or the other surrounding towns please make a trip down to Port Dickson and see for yourselves. I am a resident and all the pictures Zorro has shown so far are genuine. Anonymous commented " So in government projects, it's mainly due to the contractors having problems. It's not unusual." How arrogant can you possibly be!!.. Please be more specific on what kind of problems these contractors are having? Correct me if I am wrong, but could it be that they were not paid in time? Contractors have to pay their workers too you know...

  12. Thes best tagline is 'Abandoned projects paid in full'

  13. To Anonymous and Charlie, why do you believe govt do not face financial problems? True, govt does not because they can always print more money (or press a button in today's IT world)

Govt pay consortiums and main contractors 6-9 months after billing. The developer has to listen to all the crappy story of "waiting for approval" when chasing for govt payments. Many sub-contractors cannot wait for their main-con to pay them this late.

Also, this may surprise you. Many of these "private companies" actually belong to Najis & co. or Mahatahi & sons, or Khairy & in-laws. Govt awarded contracts to these private companies without proper open tender.

So if these companies defaulted, who is to blame? The party who awarded the contract or the contractor? They are both the same party since 1Malaysia = govt + UMNOputeras.

In case you need proof, remember PKFZ? Read the PwC audit report.

  14. Zorro, caption the photos with a address. Then let the disbelievers go and check it out. Why waste good money buying a meal for anyone who does not deserve it?

"So to pick on these are kind of naive because on the government side, steps were already taken to implement the projects," Oh wow, so big deal steps were already taken.I ask you why were they abandoned in the first place?? For a tourist town, it was an eye-sore to see abandoned projects, be it private or government. Lest we forget, there is this UGLY looking, badly constructed Public toilet built on the seafront and it cost more than RM150k. That public toilet was not abandoned for sure. Shame on the State Government.

  16. I do not know whether the abandoned projects shown above are really ISA's fault but I am sure this bastard must have taken lots of money in the past from developers (or contractors) so much so that the projects were facing cashflow problems. This is common among BN cronies.

  20. Zorro,
    You are so unfair!
Why don't you put up the numerous successful projects by the government? Do point those too in your guided tour. Hahaha!

Then let your fans draw the conclusion. You are definitely practicing selective censorship to suit your evil agenda!!!!

You will see me every morning at 11:00am at the PAS Markas. If you cannot find the place, then you will not be the ideal person to get details of abandoned projects. I am sure you just dont want a free ride! So John, please come and help me with the non believers.

  26. Uncle Z, please highlight the mini disneyland project in PD which destroyed 5 km of the entire sea in Port dickson in 1987. This was abandoned during ISA time and till today nobbody question what happen..

according to PD people, some officer ran away to indonesia with few million bucks and the project was aondoned.

In fact PD town used to have a SEA smashing against the wall beside the school and the town building like penang fort cornwallis, but today stinking sand and kilometres of wasteland only remain, People have to go 7 km to bagan pinang to see a decent sea side.

In fact one famous restaurant called the Merlin restaurant and many other businesses was destroyed because of this billion dollar mega project.

20 years on, still no anwser from BN and ISA
