MY FRIDAY GUEST BLOGGER: MALAYSIA WAVES

MALAYSIA WAVES's post: UMNO GIVING IN, could be spot on. Before his ascendency to Prime Minister, Najib has brushed asid Tajol as Perak chief and engineered the thievery of the Perak PR Government. When he became PM, he delegated or empowered his Deputy to to take over and whose immediate task was to whitewash Nizar in his bid to be MP for Bukit Gantang. I have obvserved lately that both the PM and his Deputy are conspicuously absent from the Perak scene. Are they throwing Zambri and the former Perak chief to the dogs? Who said that there is honor amongst thieves?

Yesterday Malaysia Waves broke this news of what will be in Perak:

BREAKING NEWS: UMNO's Giving In. Will Call for By-Election in Perak

This is an info i received from my source within UMNO. It seems that UMNO has decided to give in to mounting pressure calling them to dissolve the Perak Assembly and call for fresh elections. Announcement will be made within this week or next week, according to my source.

Apparently, UMNO realizes that the more that delay this issue, the bigger the negative effect it will have on UMNO and BN. The longer this crisis continues, the worst it gets for UMNO's national profile and intra-BN relations, according to my soruce.

My source elaborates that UMNO is reeling from internal pressure within Barisan Nasional in which component parties are calling for UMNO's head. This scandal will result in them losing more of what little left of their credibility with their electorate.

The Palace is also under tremendous amount of pressure and they too are losing credibility day by day. They too would like to see this issue resolved amicably. If this persists, they will not be respected by anyone in the state or outside. And all this because of UMNO's refusal to go back to the people.

International pressure is also slowly rising. Malaysia's good name is being smeared due to the 7th May incident. Openly, the government is seen as being disrespectful to rule of law, democracy and separation of powers. It's will effect us economically in the long run as investors do not want to invest in countries whose governments are not interested in rule of law.

UMNO also wants to stop the court process from continuing. As long as the battle continues in the courts, the credibility of our courts will also suffer.

So in order to save itself from being abandoned by their allies and prevent economic catastrophy in Malaysia and not to mention a total wipe-out in the next General Election, UMNO has decided to bite the bullet and call for by elections.

My source also say that UMNO is not confident of recapturing the state should the by-election be called. The most they say they can hold on to is 15 Malay seats. But it's better than losing the entire country to Pakatan Rakyat.

I hope my source is right as so far all of the Perak Revelations that Malaysiawaves have proven to be correct i.e. Malaysiawaves was the only blog that predicted the crossing over of a DAP rep when all attentions were concentrated on the 2 PKR reps.

Let's pray that Najib Tun Razak does the right thing.

TQ

  1. If MalaysiaWaves got the info right, it'd be damn disappointing. I was looking forward to more talk and spin from BN-UMNO. Each time they open their mouth, the hole they are digging for themslevs gets BIGGER!

Apologies to Perakians, its not that I don't sympathise with your suffering; but its something that needs to be done. A small sacrifice for the greater good of the whole nation. God Bless the people of Perak and especially Taiping boy - Bernard aka Zorro.

  3. BN / AMENO will loose in the Perak State elections, if is held soon has nothing to do with people favouring Pakatan Rakyat. It has all to do with the anti Che Det faction or pro Badawi faction that now wants to exact revenge on the on the anti Badawi faction led by none other than Che Det. If the Che Det faction can humiliate and thus force out our pios ulama Tun Badawi as PM (and ridicule Islam Hadhari or Civilization Islam) and president of UMNO, then Che Det and his proxy Najib / Muhyiddin will face the same wrath or pay back time by the pro badawi faction. Tit for tat. Malaysia Boleh!

  4. Z,

The following sms was published at PerakExpress -
DUN will be dissolved very soon. Get ready.

SMS from Hj. Asmuni Awi. Pengarah Pilihanraya Pas Perak.
It appears that a state election in Perak is imminent.

The general perception even among the umnoputras, including TDM, is that BN will suffer big losses as a result of NTR's misadventure. It's now in the hands of the Perak Sultan to dissolve the state assembly.

The pertinent question to ask is - how will the Perak royal house assent to such a request if the issue of who the rightful MB is not resolved? Will Nizar succeed to quash the stay of execution at the COA on 18th May and henceforth, proceed with his request for dissolution as he had intended earlier this week?

Or will the dissolution be done prior to this date without a formal request by Nizar? This option however reeks of an executive decision being shoved down the throats of everyone except UMNO Baru.

Forget about that other bloke whose claim to greatness is falling apart like dominoes in a crap game. Perhaps, he can start a teh tarik stall in Jelapang during the run-up to the polls.

  5. Zambry is at best a 1 term wonder MB for UMNO. So, he has nothing to lose and Najib is giving him all the rope to hang himself.

And if he fails in 2009, Najib is prepared to make him the sacrificial lamb and scapegoat. There's some 'Brilliant Minds' working there that's out of this Universe!

  8. It is as clear as daylight! But the UMNO morons refuse to open their eyes to see reality. There is no other way except to go back to the raayat for a mandate. Why is it that they (umno) guys still don't get it.If the PM Najib said that BN is NOT afraid going back to the people than so be it and work for a snap state election as soon as possible. This crisis cannot possibly be solve by the courts and in the meantime the people and the state suffers.PM Najib must clean-up the shit he had stirred. Why push the buck to the Sultan or Zombie? Come on, wake-up UMNO/BN!!!

  9. Should there be an election, I hope the BN field the Three Stooges (frogs). I think we all would like to see them lose their deposits. Something tells me that they will not dare show their faces.

  10. Remember what Dr M said - that BN will lose in the Perak elections and suggested a vote of no confidence against Nizar?

You think Najib will disobey this 'royal decree/opinion'?

Now read here what Najib said today, as featured in NST's online news.

"PAKATAN Rakyat can keep on dreaming of a dissolution of the Perak state assembly. Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said a dissolution was not the only way to end the political dispute there. He reminded the opposition that the ruling coalition has the majority to rule the state".

And by co-incidence, Nizar's appeal will be heard now on 21 May, not 18 May.

Do you see a plot hatching?

The illegal MB can call for an emergency ADUN session before 21 May and pass a vote of no-confidence against Nizar.

On 21 May, the courts can say no need to hear the appeals by both Nizar and Zambry as it is a very academic situation by then as the legistlative had already voted out Nizar.

    Do you see that happening?

Now, do you feel that this thing about BN likely to call for elections is actually an intentional distraction/red herring?

  11. "Dream on", Najib tells Pakatan Rakyat
    By : Lee Ah Chai

    MANADO (INDONESIA), Fri:

PAKATAN Rakyat can keep on dreaming of a dissolution of the Perak state assembly. Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said a dissolution was not the only way to end the political dispute there. He reminded the opposition that the ruling coalition has the majority to rule the state.
“Remember, BN was the biggest party (after the March 2008 general election) Sultan Azlan Shah agreed to appoint Nizar ( Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin ) as menteri besar after the state assemblymen (from Parti Keadilan Rakyat, DAP and Pas) signed declarations that they support him (to head the state government).

“Now the three (DAP’s Hee Yit Foong, and PKR’s Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu) signed declarations to support BN (leading to the appointment of Datuk Seri Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir as the new MB).

“The sultan could have (re)appointed Tajol Rosli (Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli) but based on the spirit of democracy, the ruler agreed to appoint Nizar even though Pakatan Rakyat is not a legal entity.

“PR has lost the majority…we are using the same principle… it is not undemocratic or unconstitutional (to take over the Perak state government)”, Najib said.
He said the problem in Perak arose over Pakatan Rakyat’s refusal to accept reality.

  12. Najib is mindful that the BN may win the battle but not the war.

Hence, he is already making the necessary noises for damage control and ready to sacrifice Zambry. Perhaps Zambry also knows this and who knows - might be something for him later down the road.

Perhaps even the 7 May fracas and even the High Court decision (and definitely the Court of Appeal decision) area all staged to elicit certain responses.

And just maybe, Nizar is akin to Jack Bauer, participating in a drama much like "24" with all its twists and turns with situational control swtiching ever so often.

  13. The very unfortunate lie that BN is spreading is that Anwar was the one who started party hopping culture, citing Sept 16, 2008.

How come BN is not admitting that its desperate state chief Khir Toyo was the one who had the cheek to ask PAS ADUNs of Selangor to cross over with remunerations like the MB's post and option for introduction of the Syariah laws in the state? Khir Toyo admitted approaching PAS ADUNs for this purpose.

To set the record straight, BN should have the 'guts' (or 'balls') to say/admit that it started party hopping culture after 8 March 2008.

They were only sucessful in Perak, after getting two ADUNs who were nabbed by the MACC for corruption charges, where one of them even admitted having sex with a whore.

Chau Soi Lek resigned. But this Perak ADUN, admitted having sex with a whore and yet is remaining an ADUN.

See, even in the BN there is different types of treatment.

An MCA guy had to quit. But a Perak who decides to support UMNO AFTER being nabbed by the MACC is still holding on to his position and the fiercely independent MACC is still looking for evidence to tighten its case against this fellow.

This is BN for you all folks.

They forget what they started, and will blame Anwar.

They will get MCA guy to resign but will allow the whore-maniac fellow to remain ADUN even if he admitted openly about his sensual pursuits.

    Malaysia Boleh or 1Malaysia?

Somebody is actually very happy as all this drama is taking away the attention from the foreign lady who disappeared in Malaysia, like the way her arrival records into this country vanished from computer records, despite the arrival premise being located in a Multi Media Super Corridor.

So, dear Malaysians, want some more distractions?
    Wait for next week.
More exciting events will happen in Perak.

  14. Was told that this bit of juicy news was "leaked" for public consumption. Possibly true. Itsa good red herring. Got everybody excited. A distraction while the thieves creep into the dewan again. But as I said before and I repeat, lets have more talk. The latest statement from the PM is already stupid, but who knows there are more dumb statements coming? Its the SILLY season anyway.

  17. It seems that everyone has the mistaken notion that it was DSAI who started the frog-jumping exercise.

DSAI did not start the mess. It was BN that was trying to topple the Selangor and the Perak state governments immediately after the 2008 election even before DSAI hitched on to the idea. Ask Abdullah Badawi and Toyol for the facts.

In Perak the sultan took 2 weeks to recognise the Pakatan state government. In the meantime, BN was feverishly trying to buy some Pakatan’s assembly people. Ask Tajol Rosli for the facts because he announced that the BN will topple Pakatan by August 2008. Ask Sivakumar how much BN offered him. Finally when they couldn’t stop the Pakatan from forming the state government, the sultan tried a last-ditch attempt by throwing a spanner into the works: he appointed Nizar from PAS as the MB hoping that the Pakatan would naturally split. But it was not to be because the whole country had a pleasant surprise: DAP and PAS were able to co-operate admirably under Nizar’s leadership and this confounded the BN to no ends.

Najib is telling a big lie: the mess in Perak was created by him and for him alone, i.e. to salvage his chances of becoming the PM in spite of the many skeletons he was carrying.

See how short people’s memories are?
