A COME-BACK KID FROM THE LOSERS' POOL?

HANTU sent this communiqué: Performance Now Prime Minister Najib will propose a rotation between Nijar and Zambri as Menteri Besar of Perak.

Usually Hantu will put his imprimatur (his claw print) on his communiqué. It was not evident this time, but instead there was a blob….which on closer inspection is a wasabe-scented dropping! I got the message of course. Hantu thinks this is a cockamamie, driven-to-the corner pea brain solution.

PM Najib may have taken advisement from TDM who engineered a similar stunt in Sabah. But I doubt it. It was workable (for just a while in Sabah) because it involved contenders in the same BN fold. To borrow a favorite coined by RPK, this is a case of the robber and the robbee. Sources say that this is the solution proferred by Khir Toyo whom Najib recently co-opted into his think-tank group. It figures. The pathetic paucity of resources in the BN stable!

As such, rightful Perak Menteri Besar, refuses to have any eye-ball-to-eyeball parley with Najib. Way to go Datuk Seri Nizar.

  1. Hi Zorro,
PM Najib maybe running out of ideas in tackling the Perak issue. Perhaps, this idea is mooted by Mahathir who thinks such stunt can apply again this time in Perak. Najib is caught in a 'jam' and may have turn to his mentor for help.As a Perakian myself, I would settle for NOTHING less than a state election. The mandate MUST come from the rakyat, nothing less nothing more. If the rumour is true than I would say the BN/UMNO Govt is digging deeper into its own grave. The people of Perak are not gullible or stupid to accept such a solution.

Barisan will not contest in Penanti: Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Nasional has decided not to contest the May 31 by-election in Penanti, coalition chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced on Monday.

“We feel it is an unnecessary by-election; we will not join in the Opposition’s political games,” he said after chairing a Barisan supreme council meeting.

The Penanti state seat fell vacant on April 17 following the resignation of its PKR assemblyman, Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin. The Election Commission has set May 23 for nominations.

Pakatan will be fielding former Penang PKR chairman Dr Mansor Othman in the contest.

  4. Those BN beggars want to be choosers? Laughable.

They are going to lose big in any elections in the Peninsula.

  6. yes, good idea : let's rotate the PM post too, ok ?

  7. If I was Pakatan, i wouldnt settle for anything LESS than getting the MB and Speaker post back.

They have the people of Perak behind them.

if they strike such a deal, they would LOSE all of that.

  8. Let me share with you guys what a little bird in UMNO told me:

The above suggestion about MB rotation was just one of many bizarre ideas thrown about by the UMNO tacticians. The other ideas were to have Zambry as Deputy MB and Nizar to be MB. The exco would be 50-50 Pakatan and BN. This is the so called UNITY Govt.

Another idea was to have the two MBs meet the Sultan for a marathon session of debate and the Sultan will decide who is the better candidate. This is dwonright stupid.

The best idea ? This one: Nizar will be MB and Zambry will be Speaker. See the twist?

One BN ADUN will table a motion to have a vote of no-confidence and Zambry, being the Speaker will table it. Then 3 frogs will vote with the BN ADUNs and Nizar will suddenly be out of a job.

Good one eh? But was told that one UMNO bigwig called the idea bodoh sangat, because Pakatan will see through it immediately.

That idea came from an OLD VVIP, guess who?

HINT: Who was for the idea of a vote of no-confidence because BN will lose big time in a snap election?

  9. If you profess so much about democracy, its principles and how everyone must respect democracy let's get this straight. A democratic govt is a "govt of the people, for the people and by the people." That is true democracy. If there is any controversy about who should form the "legal" govt then this must be resolved by going back to the people for a fresh mandate. Period. In other words a fresh state election is in order. No political party should be afraid of facing the voters. The impasse in Perak cannot be resolved in a court. The people must decide. That's what true democracy is about.

  11. I just hope that from now on one by one of BN wakils just fall dead from badminton or heart attack or act of god.....and we shall see if the same arguments apply..save money??? Let us see what they will do with the money saved. Will it be squandered?

I think we can afford a by election...but Najib cannot afford to lose, not BN. And that is what he is afraid of.

  14. Nothing short of a by-election will do. Even if the court handled back the state to PR, it will be difficult to govern as much damage has been done. A by-election will be more reassuring for the people and for Pakatan. Also, it will be a barometer of what's in store for the next general election.
