YOU GUESS WHY NONE OF THE BN COMPONENT PARTIES SUPPORT THE PEOPLES' DECLARATION.

HARIS IBRAHIM of Peoples' Parliament said in todays posting:

On 4th February, civil society launched 2 documents : The People’s Voice and The People’s Declaration.

On 6th February, on behalf of all Malaysians, I had sent copies of both documents to all BN component parties and to DAP, PAS, PKR and PSM with the the expressed hope that these parties would adopt the aspirations declared by the rakyat in these documents as the way forward for our nation.

By Saturday, 16th February, PKR, DAP, PAS, PSM, MDP and PASOK had confirmed their endorsement of The People’s Declaration.

I hear a very unhealthy silence from all the component parties of the Barisan National. Is the declaration anti-government? Certainly not! Then why the unholy silence? The answer is obvious! Accepting this document would mean they (BN) have to right all their wrongs....something unacceptable, undo able, crazy, upsetting the apple cart, breaking out from the comfort zone.....in a word, unthinkable. That about sums up what they are, no?

Haris titled his posting thus:

DAP + PAS + PKR + PSM + MDP + PASOK + …. = BARISAN RAKYAT

What do you people think?
That word Barisan leaves a rancid taste in the mouth.

  1. After teh RTM English news at 7.00am over radio in recent days they have been playing this old Malay song tha tused to play during the time of the 1963 confrontation if I recall. It goes "Ini lah barisan kita......". Nice patriotic song that one. Liked it very much.

But what the fuck has it got to do with these Barisan Nasional people???

  6. Be-End as an entity should be thrown in the rubbish heap of history.

I will only remember the days of the kapal layar when chegus were chegus (no offense) and cikgus like Mat Isa and Mat Taib were still teaching and had not gone on a fiscal rampage at the rakyat's expense --yet. But in the summer of '69 (no, this ain't no Bryan Adams song) I was but a primary schoolboy. What do I know?

Now in the Spring 0f '08 I really hope and pray change is gonna come so I can hole my head up high again.

Is the answer, my esteemed Chegu, blowin' in the wind?

  7. Yes my Swampman, the answer is certainly blowing in the March wind...esp. this last verse:

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry
How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
