IS EAST MALAYSIA BRAVE ENOUGH?

It is now a well worn out cliché that East Malaysia is BN’s safe deposit, not gaining any interest but just kept safe in a strongroom. Sabah and Sarawak are the two states with an abundance of rare resources but shackled by poverty. I have had my fair share of campaigning in those two states to know that their time will come when they will realize that they cannot be just KEPT to be exploited and abused. Maybe this time around the people of Sabah and Sarawak are realizing that enough is enough, extricate, let go and move on. Then they will realize that they are not the people BN thought they were, but BETTER! They will finally be aware that there is a difference between giving up and knowing that they have had ENOUGH!

Have our rakyat in East Malaysia come to this start truth that it is because they are ABOVE that BN wants them DOWN, save and sound? Let me put it another way: If people are trying to bring you DOWN it only means you are ABOVE them!

Trust, somebody said, is like paper. Once crumpled, it can’t be perfect. Haven’t they been crumpled enough? Will Sabahans and Sarawakians continue to trust BN?

I have always told my students (if they can remember) and participants at seminars I facilitated over the years: If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not BIG enough.

I leave it to our people in these two states to dream BIG or forever be locked up in the strong room….only to be used or abused!....are they brave enough to dream big and will they follow these two who are saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

  1. Jeffrey Kitingan quoted that then prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had seen him and told him “don’t teach the people what they don’t know”.

Wrong Kutty/UMNO, its knowing the TRUTH, that sets one free!

  2. My fellow brothers and sisters from East Malaysia you have been lied and cheated by the present regime for too long. They treat you like a two year olds, a few candies, a few promises each time when an election is about to take place.
Like a naive and innocent guy that you are you trusted them for so many decades but after so many years where are you ? You are still where you and your scions are still where you were before you became a part of Malaysia.
To ensure that you do not question the morons why and what, they have laws passed that you are not to initiate the question of leaving Malaysia and be independent. Otherwise you well be jailed in other words you are not to question why but to do and die. A few of the morons and their lackeys are permitted to loot for themselves and no one dares or allows to question or even ask for an explanation. Just do and die and you can take your share of the cake, just like monkeys you scratch my back and I scratch yours.
So enough is enough just come out regardless of whatever false and empty promises they give you vote these deceitful and corrupted morons out of Putrajaya and best of all be masters of your own destiny, you have been colonised long enough there after.

  3. Are we hearing the echo in the wind across the deep blue sea from East Malaysia?...54 years screwed by BN bastards, are we now seeing the sign, the beginning of the end of BN? Only East Malaysians can answer this.

  4. No more money left – is that why Najib wants GE-13 before Budget 2013?

The Malaysian PM is believed to have mulled holding the ballot during the Haj season, but due to public outcry from the Muslims, was forced to withdraw.

The latest spin is that Najib had finally agreed to have it in September so that he could then table the Budget for 2013, which is already slated for the 28th of the same month.

However, this could be ominous as it implies that Malaysians should brace for a ‘nasty’ Budget 2013 after 2012′s election goodies and cash aid-studded spending plan. It certainly bolsters suspicion that the reckless spending Najib has been accused of may have finally burst at the seams of the public coffers.

  10. Uncle Zorro,
I think urban East Malaysians want to change, as proven in the State Elections.
At the same time, those who can write in this comment column, are surely literate, and open minded.
I ask friends from Sarawak, and their response was, its difficult to make the natives to realize why they need to vote for change.
THEY LISTEN TO THEIR VILLAGE HEAD. or Tok Batin.
    Money is the reason.

  12. Pakatan is not welcomed to contest in Sabah.
This was stated clearly by Kitingan. He said let Sabah-based parties contest and orang Malaya stay out.
Proof that Pakatan is not wanted. Shame, shame.

  14. here we go again, bashing the East Malaysians, chiding them for being blind, deriding them for not being brave...

there should be a better way to win their hearts and minds, right? :|

i have talked to many E Ms in as neutral and impartial mode as i could, and here's what i gather:
    1) they are at peace with what they have
    2) majority feels that they have been hitherto left to their own without intervention, especially negative impacts
    3) majority are not directly affected by the logging and other plundering we scream blue murder, so they fail to see the relevance
    4) ditto on political, social, economic, religious dictums
    5) they respect and follow the lead of their village chief
    6) they are happy and contented that they now have piped water and a few hours electricity a day because their grandparents can tell them these were non-existant previously

so you see, they cannot relate to what we are trying to tell them.

they have access to wireless internet, heck they can surf the net.
they can read the alternate news, but they don't follow the content. they just can't relate to it.

it is the peninsula that needs them. both sides of the divide needs them.
certainly bashing people over their believes is a self defeating way to gain support.
not now, and certainly not when the other side is dishing out goodies at our expense.

    post note:
perhaps sense of (in)justice may prevail to engender social activism if the said goodies can be quantified and shown as mere scraps in proportion to the fortunes systematically razed and squandered from right beneath their very feet.

  15. Anon424pm, I thought I was asking them to dream BIG. You call this bashing. I am sorry if you feel that way but that was not my intention. Have you heard about the power of the positive NO?

  16. Well done. You have reported not only the facts in Sabah and Sarawak but the truth. Sincerely hope the voters in Sarawak will give change a better chance. We need our natural resources return to the people of Sarawak.

  17. JUDGING BY SOME OF THE COMMENTS MADE BY OBVIOUSLY BORNEANS, PERHAPS WE SHOULD LEAVE THEM ALONE TO BE SCREWED ONCE AGAIN BY THE EMPTY PROMISES OF BN. ASKING THEM TO WAKE UP , TO THEM, IS LIKE , INSULTING THEM AND THEIR INTELLIGENCE. WELL, GOOD LUCK FOR STILL PUTTING THEIR TRUST IN KITINGAN BROTHERS ET AL...MAYBE PR CAN WIN, MAYBE NOT THIS TIME..BUT THE FACT IS THAT..PEOPLE WANT CHANGE..IF EAST MALAYSIANS CAN DO IT BY THEMSELVES AND NOT BE FOOLED BY ANOTHER TERM OF FORGOTTEN PROMISES...SO BE IT..I NEVER FELT COMFORTABLE VISITING THE 2 EAST MALAYSIAN STATES ANYWAY, PART OF MALAYSIA BUT WE FROM THE PENINSULA HAVE TO SHOW SOME FORM OF I.D. JUST TO VISIT!!! LET THEM BE!! AND DO NOT INSULT THE GOOD INTENTIONS OF MANY PENINSULA MALAYSIANS WHO WANT GOOD TRANFORMATION FOR ALL, NOT JUST THOSE FROM THE PENINSULA...MOST OF THIS "US" AND "THEM " MENTALITY MAKES 1MALAYSIA CONCEPT LOOK NONSENSICAL!!!
