Terence and I gate crashed YB Thomas Su’s press conference at his service centre at Pasir Pinggi, Ipoh just before noon. It was revealed that his aide Simon Ng was informed by MCA that being a member of MCA since 2001 he is entitled to be insured in the Group Policy for one year. This is of course extended to all new members of MCA. But the catch is that you are insured for only this year. You will only benefit if you “crash out” this year. Dang! Now that the “sex traps” don’t work the “death trap” is offered. It seems some young Chinese in Perak are so thrilled about this that they told their elders to sign up. That was when the kids got jolted when the elders rained that forbidden “hum kah chun” thingy. You know my Cantonese is near sub-zero but I believe it was close to ….”go have a good suck and be suckered you young suckers!
I am disconcertedly embarrassed. I come from a state where the Ruler and his heir is so educated and decorated, have written books and always wooed to give annual lectures (You tell me which state has that combination?) and yet the subjects are so gullible and easily suckered! We know for a fact that Mahathir strangled Perak over the Mamico affair but the people in Perak cannot continue to cry over this!
Come back Bro. We're waiting for you.
ReplyDeleteI am confused because this morning, I was with my usual breakfast kakis (happen to be all MCA members) and in came a local MCA town councillor. Being DAP member, I felt out of place when they asked him to confirm certain details about the group insurance. He said that MCA is now rich enough to help members instead of just the public with this offer. I distinctly heard that upon accidental death, the family will receive Rm10,000 plus Rm4,000 (entitlement due to normal death). He added that for life members, there is no further payment required. For ordinary members, they need to pay their annual subscriptions to ensure they continue to be members to be eligible. For new members, they need to be member for at least 5 years before they are eligible for this scheme (not sure about this last bit).
ReplyDeleteThe reason I am pointing this out is to hope for further clarification and confirmation so that the facts are correct before people make their decisions. If they chose to take advantage of any offers by government or MCA, it is up to them. Believe me, how they vote could be different!
Uncle Zorro, I think its very fair, that as a member, your yearly membership fee is used to purchase insurance policy, and you are only covered for that year.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I cannot accept that, a life member need not pay yearly fees.
How sorry can the MCA get? Giving insurance cover, even though free of charge is taboo to pantang Chinese. Some clever strategists, these MCA grim reapers!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of number plate of car of one late MCA exco from Penang years ago.
PAK 4. In Cantonese, it sounds like died in vain. In Hokkien, it sounds like beaten to death.
No wonder the party continues to offend Chinese and other voters!
MCA = Make Chinese Angry = Millions Crises Already
MCA members are flocking to buy 1MCA insurance to secure their future after the next GE.
ReplyDeleteAre the MCA rotten bastards hoping to have the "last dig" at the pie?...remember MCA co-operative sometime back, they then, robbed even the ignorant poor souls' money which they kept for their funeral expenses...promising higher saving interest if money was invested in the co-operative.
ReplyDeleteZorro, perhaps you could enlighten us with further details of this scandal.
ReplyDeleteyo...I hear you loud and clear bro ! Let's claim Perak back to Perakians ....with no help expected from the royals. What a shame !
ReplyDeletePerakians have not forgotten what happened - the POWERGRAB of course. Can't wait for GE-13!
ReplyDeleteWe were at our lowest ebb in 2009, played out by the very people we elect to office with the help of BN power corrupt and arrogance(!!) and where were those educated royals when we needed them most?
Of course it was a sellout by the very royals who enjoy life from the taxpayers' money.
ReplyDeleteOf late to the royals money seems to be the fuel that drives them, not morality, conscience or the fervour to see that their rakyat are well looked after by the government of which they are the unofficial heads and advisers.
They flaunt their money by acquiring RM500 odd thousand number plates. They get all worked up when some sane and concerned souls point out that large sum of money could have been put to better use.
Not only the royals can't stomach such criticisms but even the rabid UMNOputras go berserk and demand excessive and even capital punishment against those who question the excesses of the royals.
Then again we have royals who are highly educated but blind to the plight of their rakyat. They in their greed to accumulate as much wealth as possible (most of them are already wealthy and living beyond their means) forget about their rakyat's sufferings.
Hope the Perakians teach the UMNO/BN mafia and the royals a good lesson that will never ever forget.
CHANGE, CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. THROW OUT UMNO/BN FROM POWER.
What Ng said was that she got her Australian PR so that her son could get free education in Australia although she has no intention to settle down in Australia.
ReplyDeleteAnd she is proud of what she did - that she cheated the Australian government?
There is no misunderstanding here. It is a case of a dishonest Malaysian who became a minister. The basic struggle of MCA, i.e. championing the Chinese cause, had been lost a long time ago.
Apart from a few good guys like Ong Tee Kiat and Lee Kim Sai, MCA never really had good quality politicians. Most of the MCA leaders are there for the spoils and some crumbs thrown to them by Umno.
And they wonder why MCA is becoming irrelevant.
BOOSTING MEMBERSHIP IS ONE ISSUE, HAVING QUALITY WITHIN THE RANKS IS ANOTHER. MCA CAN CLAIM TO BE THE 2ND LARGEST CHINESE BASED POLITICAL PARTY IN THE WORLD, SO WHAT?? THE DEPTH OF TALENT WITHIN MCA IS FOR ALL TO SEE! JUST JOIN FOR THE INSURANCE, BUT VOTE SOMEONE ELSE, THATS WHAT I WILL DO...THE KELANTANESE HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS!!! TIME TO AWAKE FROM 50+ TEARS OF SLUMBER, NOT TO AWAKEN AKIN SNOW WHITE BUT MALAYSIANS WITH INTELLIGENCE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN POTENTIALLY REAL PROGRESS VS TOTALLY BAD GOVERNANCE!! THE ROAD TO CHANGE IS LONG AND HARD, FULL OF OBSTACLES BUT WE CAN DO IT!!
