At DAP Sarawak Election Fund-Raising Dinner last night, home truths delivered by the speakers:
"No Sarawak, no Putrajaya"
"Peninsula people need Sarawak to change (Federal) government"
One step for Sarawak - one giant step for A NEW MALAYSIA.
I have campaigned with Pakatan on both the by elections and the State elections in Sibu in 2011.
I have experienced the plight the people in Sarawak have to endure – the rampant thievery of native land, basic rights and forests. On my blog itself I have three sidebar links dedicated to Sarawak:
top left sidebar: Kami Rakyat Sarawak Mahu Taib Berundur.
right sidebar: Sarawak Report and Sarawak’s Hope.
I received a FB message today to help in a new Sarawak initiative.
IT IS AN HONOR!
Launch of “Adopt a Dayak Candidate” Initiative
| Fellow Malaysians,
We are about to witness a new dawn in Malaysian politics.
Malaysians are reclaiming their democratic rights and power to determine their destiny as a nation.
The 13th GENERAL ELECTION is a pivotal one. And Sarawak is THE indisputable game-changer.
If you want change, because you believe it's time for a new government that will heed the wishes of their boss - that means, us, the Rakyat - then here's what you can do:
*HELP US TO HELP PAKATAN RAKYAT BREAK INTO BARISAN NASIONAL'S 'FIXED DEPOSIT' THAT IS SARAWAK!*
Parti Keadilan Rakyat, which will be contesting the bulk of the rural constituencies, is already mobilising their party machinery on the ground. And the response from the marginalised constituents has been nothing short of encouraging.
However, the battle for these frontline seats requires substantial financing.
Recognising this crucial need, we, a group of volunteer political activists who are non-party members, are organising a fund-raising tea party to launch the *Adopt a Dayak Candidate* Initiative at the date (stated above) and venue (below).
The highlight of the launch is a face-to-face update and conversation with three candidates:
• Nicholas Mujah (P202 - Sri Aman); • Abun Sui (P216 - Hulu Rajang); and • Roland Engan (P220 – Baram)
…and a sape (Orang Ulu guitar) performance by a mystery guest.
Entry is by invitation only, with a minimum donation of RM100. Seats are limited, so please book early for an up-close and personal session with these PKR Dayak candidates.
So, if you are ready to be the change you want to see, come for the tea party at Dignity International A-2-7 Pusat Perdagangan Seksyen 8, Jalan Sg Jernih 8/1, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on Saturday, April 21, 2012 3:00pm until 5:00pm
Join me, Noelle J aka Kakak Burung Tiong, producer-presenter RadioFreeSarawak On behalf of The Organising Team
For reservations and further information, please email noellej08@gmail.com or call 0111-562 9646. We will keep our activity expenses as low as possible to ensure that as much of the proceeds as possible go directly to the candidates. Our expenses will be published on our Facebook

Let's celebrate Pesta Gawai and vote for Pakatan!
ReplyDeleteBN Berambus!
Now everyone knows why the P.Ms from Malaysia had never dared to have the extremely corrupted C.M. of Sarawak investigated and indicted for his blatant corruptions. First of all the P.Ms. from Umno need C.M. Taib's support to remain as president of Umno and thus as P.M. and more importunely they have to scratch each other's back just like the monkeys do.
ReplyDeleteThe only way to stop these 'monkeys business' from going any further vote them out of Putrajaya in the coming GE, regardless of how much they come up with. The pigs will always be pigs and can never roar like lions or tigers !
Yes, Sir!
ReplyDeleteSarawak will be the final nail on bn's coffin.
Sabah will also move away from bn but the re-emergence of JKitingan brings huge doubts as to his ultimate agenda.
Peninsula M'sia is more or less decided on their voting pattern..maybe a 10% +/- swing either way and there are enough people working for this in P'M'sia. So focus must be on Sarawak.
After the results of the last Swk state elections, many in the interiors are ready to give their votes to PR in GE13, but still habour some doubts/fears that could swing them back to bn. The main fear is reprisals, if they vote PR but bn still retains power.
My 'relationship' with Sarawak started some 22years back with a full-costumed (that included 3 weapons: keris, spear & short-gun!!), all-traditional (including drinking tuak from the huge common pot!!) 'Bisaya' wedding at a kampung in Limbang. Both my sons were born in Sarawak and I stayed & worked in Kuching for 7 years, before being transferred back to KL.
I missed Tuesday's Swk DAP dinner due to sinusitis. I will, God-willing, make it for this event, eventhough I have a company dinner later that same night.
Cheers!
I'll catch you there Bernard for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe must first treat sarawak as a nation state. When singapore was within Malaysia,LKY put himself as Prime minister of of the Island and not chief minister, making sarawak and sabah equivalent to any state in malaysia.
ReplyDeleteAll of us in malaya have failed to speak out and Sarawak must raised and groom its own local party and not be dependent on peninsula party.Take a page from singapore and defend your right without depending from those from peninsula.Look what happen to sabah when umno steal her way in.
Yes, I would like to contribute and support this "Adopt a Dayak Candidate" cause. Although, I am not particularly fond of the always quarreling PKR leaders and its single leader/idol party but I do agree there is a need for change especially in Sarawak otherwise we will end up as a nation with corruption and abuse of power as a culture and future generations of Malaysians without direction or future. Please provide address/place to drop off the contribution.
ReplyDeleteRobert, thanks for your pledge to contribute. I have asked the group to give us an account#. They have responded and the account # would be available soon. Thanks again.
