WESTERN AUSTRALIA DOING THEIR BIT.

The Australian Stop Lynas! campaign started in response to the thousands of Malaysians uniting together to say no to Australian rare earth miner, Lynas Corporation. The Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) - a rare earth processing plant being set up in Kuantan, Malaysia, will potentially impose tonnes of toxic waste on their lives and livelihoods.

We call on all Australian's to stand in
solidarity and to hold Lynas accountable for their corporate impunity. Together we can stop Lynas from exporting a toxic and radioactive legacy that will affect the lives and livelihoods of our brothers and sisters in Malaysia.

Australian’s speak out against Lynas and launch of an appeal to WA EPA to review Lynas approval.

Interview with Sam Wainwright (Socialist Alliance / Hilton Ward Councillor), Marcus Atkinson (Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia, plaintiff for an appeal to WA EPA to review Lynas export approval in coming week) and Mia Pepper (Conservation Council of WA / parliamentary lobbyist) and our mob on Sunday Feb 26 when we had a little show in support of Himpunan Hijau 2.0.

  2. Father, must I go to work?
    No, my lucky playa
    We're living on Easy Street
    On subsidy from Putrajaya

We've left it up to BN
    So don't get exercised
Nobody has to give a damn
    We've all been subsidized

But if BN treats us all so well
And feeds us milk and honey
Please, daddy, tell me what the hell
They are going to use for money

    Don't worry, bub, there's not a hitch
    In this here noble plan
They simply soak the filthy rich
    And helps the common man

But father, won't there come a time
When they run out of cash
And we have left them not a dime
When things will go to smash?

My faith in you is shrinking, son
    You nosy little brat;
You do too damn much thinking, son
    To be a BN autocrat.

  5. So ... we have to force the information out of the Malaysian government, like opening a durian! Now, it seems Lynas can send the waste out of Malaysia ... this wasn't told to us before.

What next? We better squeeze their balls harder to get the full info. The whole thing still smells. I betcha the waste will leave Kuantan port and end up at some small jetty in Malaysia and transported into a dump deep in the Malaysian rainforest. Several years later, we will see biawak the size of a truck in the forest. Trust me! These BN politicians will even sell their children to traffickers, much less stuff like this.

  6. Hi Uncle

Heard on the news tonight that Lynas has agreed to transfer the waste out of Malaysia.
So we should be happy about this.
Please put a stop to the protest. My friends are all awaiting jobs in the Lynas plant.
We are poor people Uncle. We need such jobs to help our parents.
They are paying well, much more than my pals who are working in KL.

  8. Hi Minah,
How dumb and inconsiderate can you get? You just want better paying jobs so much so you can just close one eye or is it both eyes to the perfidy thrust upon you by UMNO/BN.

You are not bothered that the toxic waste would be dumped elsewhere. Don't you pity those poor sods who are going to exposed to toxic radiation and their health would be affected?

If what you are interested in only well-paying jobs, there are a lot of shady ones paying fantastic sums, the only condition being you should sell your self-respect and whatever is dear to you to the devil. Are you and your friends prepared for that? If you are, just join the thieving, raping and plundering warlords in UMNO/BN.

In the first place how can you believe our flip-flop, lying, forked-tongue Pee EM and his apa nama mentor, the evil mamak?

Whatever they say now is just a syiok sendiri exercise to soothe the ruffled feathers of Malaysians who have started questioning their dastardly moves.

So Minah, please don't get carried away by his pink lips, sweet talk and back stabbing ways.

Until and unless our Pee EM realizes that he is the PM for all Malaysians and all Malaysians should be treated equal.

Unless all the rabid dogs in Perkasa, Pekida and UMNO that have been let loose by UMNO with his connivance to harass, intimidate and threaten violence on the OPPOSITION are muzzled, DON'T BE PACIFIED BY HIS DOUBLE SPEAK.

Our Pee EM has made Malaysia another Animal Farm and the laughing stock of the world.

30% from RM700,000,000 can certainly buy off many people, PhDs and Birkins!

  12. Urban poor malays shifted out of the land to make Umnoputras multimillionaires and reap dividends for PNB the ultimate major shareholder of SP Setia. Now we can see why the goodies promised by Umno do not get to the ordinary malays. It is conceived and then creamed off by Umnoputras. All the ordinary malay get is " feeling good" that their malay privileges and rights are being "protected" by Umno and for some lucky ones, some dividends from their amanah saham investments from PNB.

  13. It's one thing to declare that they will ship the waste out of Malaysia. It's another task to ensure it doesn't get conveniently dumped at the doorsteps of one of the islands in the SCS!
If it is indeed true that the Lynas permits are outdated, can our legal beagles raise a suit against the parent company so very painful as to deter future ills on our shores?
The rakyat who stood up to the bull**** and was counted really rocked!

  14. Dear Zorro,

AELB (Atomic Energy Licensing Board), which Najib so often relied upon in his approval of Lynas' licence to operate in Gebeng is not in any way credible.

Looking back, do you see the injustice done to Iraq and the undignified death of their leader Saddam Hussein?

If the AELB had performed their task (with the same enthusiasm and zeal that they approved Lynas) Iraq will not have been destroyed!

Up till this day WHERE IS IRAQ'S WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION (WMD)??

  15. Umno's reasoning for dumping radioactive waste into Sg Lembing is that it is already radioactive is absolutely outrageous. Shows they are already bankrupt of ideas on how to deal with this deadly substance they got us involved in. Instead of cleaning up the old radioactivity, they say dump some more into it. Why not go to Japan's Fukushima plant and dump it there? Or dump it all in Chernobyl? Bodoh punya Umno. I have been to Sg Lembing, it really is a cosy serene and scenic town that has so much potential as a tourist resort, with its suspension bridges, the river and quiant town centre. The museum too is a must see. Ng Yen Yen should do some work and promote Sg Lembing.
