The Citizens’ Healthcare Coalition (CHC), together with the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners’ Associations, Malaysia (FPMPAM), denounced the health ministry’s 1Care initiative to implement this national insurance-based system to fund healthcare.
“We should all support the CHC on this. The goverment has shown that they do not care about the rakyat and keep coming up with scams every now and then to benefit their crony and steal more money from the rakyat.
What happens to those who do not have a job, where will they go for healthcare.
What about the poor and aged. The government wants us to pay 10% of our salary per month for this insurance. According to what the government wants to do is assign the patient to only 1 doctor and the patient will not be able to see another doctor. On top of that the patient will only be able to see the doctor 6 times a year. So imagine if you are earning RM2,000, RM200 will be deducted every month which totals RM2,400, divide this by 6 times, it comes to RM400 per visit. This is madness. Even private hospitals charge less for each visit,” commented FAIRNESSFORALL in Malaysiakini today.

Zorro,
ReplyDelete"The few who could understand the system will either be so interested in its profits, or so dependent on its favours, that there will be no opposition from that class,
while on the other hand, the great body of the people mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests."

So all our votes must translate into ABU.
Shalom.

Healthcare has become a major issue for most rakyat.
ReplyDeleteThe fact remains that only the poor die young in Malaysia cos' they can't afford better treatment in private facilities.
Who here knows what's the percentage of patients who die while WAITING in line for their turn in surgery etc in Govt facilities?
I took my son for a small procedure and it cost RM2k for 1 night stay.
I pulled him out because I know the doctors would've found more reason to do more "work" (i.e. make more money).
BN is pushing through more and more ponzi schemes, digging more holes to sink into the abyss of debt in the process for the future generation.
ReplyDeleteShud be named 1RIP OFF!
ReplyDeleteIt is becoming a fashion for UMNO politicians to take rakyat's money and then go to Mecca to ask for forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteNajib did it after atantulya, Muhyidddin did it after the Stamford acquisition, and now Sharizat, after the cow debacle.
Wallop rakyat's money then go and seek forgiveness from the almighty.
"1Care" = another national rip-off!
ReplyDeleteSomething as important as 'Public Health' issues needs public engagement and put forward for Parliament's approval! I see Liar Liow has lost his tongue(?), seems exceptionally quiet on this, how come?
We must not allow those thieves/corrupt to get away with this. If we don't stand up to them that's it, we only have ourselves to blame!
Dear Uncle Zorro
ReplyDeleteA healthcare financing scheme that does not offer protection against "catastrophic healthcare bills"
(arising from large hospitals bills) is illogical and almost useless.
Primary care (GP care) is affordable in Malaysia, at both private clinics and at Klinik Kesihatan. What we all need is financial protection against massive hospital bills (especially in private sector care).
