The world watches as tragedy unfolds beneath its gaze. Palestinian Khader Adnan is entering his 61st day as a hunger striker in an Israeli prison, being held under an administrative detention order without trial, charges, or any indication of the evidence against him.
Maali, daughter of Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan, takes part in a demonstration in support of her father, senior member of the Islamic Jihad jailed in Israel who has been on hunger strike for two months, during a protest outside his home in the village of Araba near the West Bank city of Jenin on February 17, 2012. Adnan has been on hunger strike longer than any Palestinian prisoner before him according to Palestinian officials, to protest what he calls his unjust detention and mistreatment by Israeli authorities. Adameer, the respected Palestinian NGO concerned with prisoners, "holds Israel accountable for the life of Khader Adnan, whose health has entered an alarmingly critical stage that will now have irreversible consequences and could lead to his fatal collapse at any moment". Physicians who have observed his current condition conclude that, at most, he could live a few more days, saying that such a hunger strike cannot be sustained beyond 70 days in any event. Any attempt at forced feeding to keep a prisoner from dying is widely viewed as an additional abuse, a form of torture.
Hey Zorro,
ReplyDeleteWhy la you Malaysians all wanna go be a kay poh chee on this Israel stuff when in your own country, you people dont even treat your fellow Malaysians right??
Before you pussies go stick your big noses into other peoples' affairs, why dont you all take a LONG and HARD look at your own policies and laws like ISA, police beatings, deaths in police custody, racial policies etc etc etc?
Set your own bloody house in order first before you go out and sit on that high horse.
Barisan Rakyat bloggers .... my arse!
Hey Anon540pm.....what do you think I have been at since 2007. Why do you think I got arrested in Ipoh. Why do you think they question me for 4 hours and wanted to charge me for sedition. Why does MCMC have at least three people to monitor this blog and the comments I let through? Why do you think I was amongst the 91 banned from the city on Bersih 2.0? Pussies? I have my name up there and you are still an anonymous S-hole? When you tire of playing with your toys, you can come play with MEN!Go change your soiled pampers, can, child?
ReplyDeleteI salute you uncle for your humanity. Way to go, Sir. You have soul.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish Anwar has at least an iota of your compassion. And to think he is a Muslim.
Anwar's compassion lies where his greed for power shows him. The Israel issue will bring his downfall.
We are always so quick to judge. If I read correctly this Khadir Adnan is a senior member of Jihad and it's a no nonsense terrorist organization. You don't join in today and become a SENIOR member the next, right?
ReplyDeleteHow dangerous this man can potentially be is exhibited fully by his fearless resolve in carrying out prolong hunger strike under captivity ( Imagine what "strike" could be up his sleeves if he was a free person!). Israel has to be on guard to protect their national security at all times from all the parties who are eager to push them into the sea, no?
They are 2 sides to a coin.
Anon 5.40pm - Zorro/Uncle B is a pioneer netizen and has been on the forefront of many a cause, perhaps too many to list. Central to his quest - the one constant - is his unwavering commitment to fight for the downtrodden and any injustice(s) - note the plural form.
ReplyDeleteZorro engages his surroundings while his outlook, broad and expansive - unlike the limited and insular form - as you suggested.
Also, his is a view that conforms to no set standards.
Zorro is as generous as he is dependable but most importantly - point I wish to raise - the man CAN'T be bought unlike the many whom have come before us.
Lastly anon 5.40pm as my Malay pals would say - "go play far, far away" (pi main jauh-jauh).
Anon657pm. Freedom Fighters are called Terrorists by their enemies. Chin Peng fought beside the British to fight the Nips and was decorated during the Victory Parade in London. When he fought against the Brits as part of our undependence movement, he was branded as Terrorists/Bandits by the British and the current GOMalaysia. What you are is determined by which side you are on. Klaled Adnan is fighting over the occupation of his West Bank. It is convenient to call him a terrorist when he in actual fact is a freedom fighter. What we are against is incarceration without trial. You need to read the whole article which I think you did not. Click on FREE ADNAN IF ISRAEL HAS A SOUL for the whole story.
ReplyDeleteCasper c, I thank you for keeping faith with what I am doing. I will never give up even if Pakatan takes over. Then it will be ABC - Anything But Corruption. I thank you again. Your faith strengthens my resolve.
ReplyDeleteAnon 5.40pm was born yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWhen did you became anti Israel campigner? Don't look so far, there are people in Kamunting dentention camp that need your attention.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Zorro,
ReplyDeleteI'm with you together with hundreds of my Israeli friends who seek justice and the truth. To demand freedom is to demand justice.
The world rests on three things: justice, truth and peace. It has no color or creed !
Truth will always prevail.
Your efforts is truly recognized the world over.
Bless you my dear Zorro.
Anon657pm.
ReplyDeleteIn a way we are also freedom fighters in Malaysia against injustice and corruption of the ruling government but only with our votes and peaceful protests. Does that label us as terrorists to the government? Are we then a threat to Malaysia national security? NO!
When Adnan chose the way of jihad group notorious for firing rockets indiscriminately and conduct suicide bombings against civilians, has he not become a real threat to Israel national security? YES!
Are there not ongoing talks to usher in an independent Palestinian state which include both the West Bank and Gaza?
Zorro,
ReplyDeleteWhat the cock ... ABU now? ... ABC later? Are you lot saying you bitches are now willing to tolerate some corruption here and there in PR in order to kick out UMNO-BN?
Why are you bitches having this double standards??? If you are serious about corruption in this country, then it should be zero tolerance.
Zorro is wishy washy. Talk cock.
what about tibet?
ReplyDeleteZorro,
ReplyDeleteJust to share this...
15/02/12 - On Monday, military Judge Moshe Tirosh rejected Adnan's appeal as expected. Israel wants him dead. In his 59th day without food, his life hangs by a thread.
Tirosh called his decision "balanced." He claimed secret evidence justified him.

Shalom.
Zorro, stick to the main issue, don't renegrade into israel, we have no business there.
ReplyDeleteAnon101am....why not...my business is everywhere where there is injustice. Anyway I have never come across this word "renergrade". I am familiar with renegade, as in apostate. Even if it is a typo error, I do not see the relevance. It may be 246am now but I am still quite clear. Have a good Wednesday.
