TUESDAY PICKS - 03

We now have the opportunity to send a strong message to this UMNO-BN government that it must change, or it will be changed. We can direct the minds of the masses to recognize the fabrications and lies in the case of Kugan, Teoh Beng Hock, Altantuya Shariibu, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Dato’ Ramli Yusuff and Lawyer Rosli Dahlan.

What is so clear is that Malaysians can no longer trust the highest law enforcement officers of this country. It is time we say to the Home Minister Dato’ Hishammuddin Hussein Onn- on the grave of your father , do the honorable thing. Don’t you dare extend Musa Hassan‘s contract.

It is time we say to the faces of Gani Patail, Musa Hassan and Abu Kassim – Stop these lies and fabrications. It is time we say to them –Resign Now!

Stop the Fabrications and Lies

PAK SAKO SAYS:

There is a lack the willingness or courage to energetically espouse an Islam that is concordant with the times and settings, with a highly multicultural, multi-religious environment, where it is conceded that there are multiple paths to a common spirituality and this diversity is celebrated. It is not as if Islam has no tradition of religious pluralism.

Be forewarned that the rigidly doctrinal approach to Islam will turn to bite us back in the future if left to be. Religious supremacy could well replace racial supremacy.

Poverty knows no race, unity knows no religion

In the interests of justice and Malaysia's international image, the case against Anwar Ibrahim must be dropped.

It is clear that the trial has been unfair from the start. Every day that it continues is a further blot on the Malaysian judiciary. The charges are tainted, inconsistent, and lacking credibility; the evidence flimsy where it exists; and the process skewed in the interest of the government.

Only 10% of the Malaysian population believes the charges, and there has been a chorus of international outcry from lawmakers and human rights organizations in Australia, Europe, and the United States.

I have no axe to grind in Malaysian politics. I am moved to write only by a sense of injustice, and outrage that this process might be allowed to stand. It does not just threaten Anwar Ibrahim. It threatens the development of Malaysian democracy, which would otherwise have the chance of being an example throughout the Muslim world.

Drop the Charges Against Anwar Ibrahim

What raises millions of eyebrows was not because a former MCA president is charged for mismanagemenf of PKFZ scandal but rather how could a “Tun” be charged. The perception of the public was a recipient of “Tun”ship can never be charged because they somehow enjoy immunity from any criminal or civil charges. That was why the moment Mahathir and Ling Liong Sik retired; both were immediately “given” the Tun-ship which is roughly equivalent to “Lord” (not Lord of the Rings, mind you).

  1. Despite such overwhelming sentiments and public opinion on the AG and IGP, this Barisan Government would be absolutely seen as insensitive should it continue to extend their undeserving services. Translate that into more votes for the Opposition if the Government disregard the collective voice of the rakyat.

  2. Not entirely NOT Lord of the Rings, Zorro, but in several ways akin to it. There are a few "rings" out there but only one will unite them all. In some ways the Tun-ship had been turned into something that holds the dark powers of Malaysian politics.

The "one" ring which has now acquired powers of the most evil is what we're after. We need Frodo who's still missing, and others to destroy it.

We'll overcome that one ring, never fear! :D
