Malaysiakini’s Vasugi Supramanian reported this morning:
The Abolish ISA Movement (GMI) will be holding a simultaneous candlelight vigil, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the oppressive Internal Security Act 1960 by calling for its abolition.
In a continuous effort to reach out to the grassroots, the vigil will be held on Aug 1 in all the state capitals nationwide.
“The Abolish ISA rally held on Aug 1 last year created a great impact. This time around, we want it to be more effective with the impact lasting for more than a year,” said GMI chairperson Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh in a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

The day after Pakatan Rakyat won at the Permatang Pasir by elections the Special Bunch attended the Penang CM's press conference. Background story HERE.
DanielYKL describes his contribution to the billboard below HERE
WITHIN A WEEK OF THIS BILLBOARD GOING UP, IT WAS VANDALISED.
A NEW ONE WAS IMMEDIATELY PUT UP AND IT HAS REMAINED INTACT.
A NEW ONE WAS IMMEDIATELY PUT UP AND IT HAS REMAINED INTACT.
Below were some examples I asked Daniel to work on. It was up to each Pakatan States to put up their own.
Bro Zorro,
ReplyDeleteWhy dont u bloggers send this suggestion to the Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor MB's.Im sure they will support that.
Hi ZORRO,
ReplyDeleteNOT all Pakatan Rakyat States Minister dare to do this.
For SELANGOR, we should also input "YOU ARE NOW ENTERING A STATE THAT SUPPORT SAND STEALING"
Good job Zorro.
ReplyDeleteYou can provide the graphics to the Pakatan governemnt for making the bunting and banner.
Better put it in BM so that our rural folks can appreciate.
By the way, latest from RPK:
An ‘information war’ is soon going to erupt in Selangor, a state run by Pakatan Rakyat. But while Pakatan Rakyat is going to ensure that the people are ‘better informed’, Umno is using the Selangor Sultan to brainwash the members of the Royal Family and the Malays into believing that the Malays have lost political power and that the Chinese have now taken over the country.
Well done to all involved in the design. Yes we have to say it , and say it out loud. ISA has become a political tool and we Malaysians deserve a Govt.that respect our rights.
ReplyDeleteNo civilised democratic Country in the world will tolerate such a draconian law.
Its important to use Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin too as the medium of communication as the message needs to reach the populace.
Instead of trying to pressure the UMNO assholes to listen to the rakyats' desire to abolish ISA...why not wait for the coming GE and kick the whole lot of UMNO/BN bastards out of our lives!!!
ReplyDeleteCant even work with his officer, yet want to abolish ISA.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Fat hopes
Zorror, the color scheme of the signages for all states should be the same for greatest visual impact, emphasize on the state names and ISA logos. Please tell the graphic designer.
ReplyDeletePee Pee....yes we rely a lot on hopes whether thin or thick or fat...just like a long pee or a short pee. If you had an officer like the one you are referring to, you need more than fat hopes.
ReplyDeleteAnon828am
Ideally all billboards should carry the same message, follow a template etc....the task is to get the states to put up the billboards. You will remember that Daniel did many designs because they decided to put up one.
i know Perak dirampas oleh Jibby&Co, but i hope there is a vigil here too!
ReplyDeletefelicia
ReplyDeleteConsider Perak as lost forever.
hi Pee Pee,
ReplyDeleteJust imagine if the said officer would utter the same thing if employed under the state! with federal backing he could bark now. insincere idiots.
Pee-Pee
ReplyDeleteYou must have wet your bottom many times as the stink is still there although the pee (big & small) has dried with stain.
Please wear diaper and do nt soil yourself in shame.
