  1. Are we so naive to think that the SC and Bursa can really take any action assuming that vt had committed a crime?

They will delay and delay and in the mean time look for any small hole to crawl through....

  2. To be honest, I don't think Vincent Tan has done anything wrong. After all, that's what entrepreneurs are supposed to do - go for what makes money!

The fault is entirely that of the Rosemajibs and MoF who planted articles in the Star and NST to educate us that legal betting is better than illegal gambling hwwre the lost revenues could be in th eregion of $20 billion per year!

Then when there was public anger and backlash, they flip-flopped / U-turned to CYA (Cover Yor Ass)!!

The Rosemajibs and their Minsiters have now flip-flopped over:

    1. GST
    2. RPGT
    3. Toll incease
    4. Gas to Iran
    5. $77 million contrcat to APCO
    6. Electricity increase
    7. Water charges increase
    8. Govt subsidi of $74 billion per Idris Jala vs $18.6 billion cliamed by the lying MOF which did not include subsidies by Tenaga, Petronas, Telekom etc.
    9. Betting Licence to Vincent Tan
    10. Special ice box for fish

    and many, many more!

Ifthe fuck around with their own billionaire backers and funders like Vincent Tan, they have as good as lost the next GE!!

And that MErdeka Center 72% popular PM poll - pur hogwash bull-shit. Go check out how RPK caught them cheating at:

  3. If SC and Bursa don't take action maybe the punters who lost monies on the BG shares can sue VT for false/misleading information. But really it should be SC who takes action but then again their balls are being squeezed so no sound lah from them.

  10. WTF are these UMNOputras claiming to be holier than thou Muslims to the Muslim world but legalising gambling which is HARAM in Islam.

UMNO Muslims say legal gambling is OK but not illegal ones. They like the revenue that they get to spend from gambling.

This only shows they are munafiq of the highest order. If gambling is HARAM in Islam, they should ban gambling altogether.

It is the same with illicit sex. That Kinabatangan orang utan had sex with someone without the consent of his wife but he is considered as an ICON by the Syariah court and was given a very light sentence.

If that orang utan is considered an Icon, then we have too many icons like him in UMNO. These scoudrels should be given the maximum sentence and should also be whipped to send a strong message to all great leaders who commit adultery. Almost all the UMNOputeras would have to be jailed and whipped.

In Islam there is no grey area about gambling, sodomy or adultery.

  12. This piece of news today on The Standard in Hong Kong suggest that instead of controlling illegal football betting, legalising it increase the number of football punters by THREE times.

Ban sought on `in-play' club soccer bets

    Friday, June 11, 2010

The Hong Kong Jockey Club should either ban "in-play" football betting or put a cap on how much people can wager on such bets, a political party says.
The call comes after a survey of football gamblers in the run- up to the World Cup, which begins in South Africa today.
The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong survey revealed that, for every football punter the club lured away from illegal bookmakers since it was licensed to conduct football betting in 2003, it enticed three newcomers into gambling.
DAB lawmaker Starry Lee Wai-king said 101 of the 492 people aged 11 and over admitted they bet on football matches with the club.
Of that 101, only 25 had previously bet with illegal bookmakers, while the others only started gambling after football betting became legal.
Almost 40 percent did not think football betting was a vice.
Industrial Evangelistic Fellowship supervisor Franny Mok Yuk-lan said the biggest danger was the "excitement of in-play" betting on the next scorer and next team to score during a game.
The survey showed that 38 percent of those who lost money on football did so during such betting.

  13. He's the Saviour for Cardiff City FC but will he eventually scam them ???

    +++

Cardiff City say they have paid off a £1.9m debt to HM Revenue and Customs, ending High Court action that threatened the club's existence.

The move comes in the wake of the Bluebirds' recent takeover by a Malaysian-based consortium.

Cardiff lost out in the 2009-10 Championship play-off final while the High Court action was underway.

They succeeded in staving off a winding up order, but remaining total debts are estimated at between £15m-£30m.

Billionaire businessman Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, a Malaysian property magnate who is worth a reported £800m, is the power behind Cardiff's new regime, which owns around 30% of the club's shares.

Their £6m investment prompted a boardroom shake-up that saw consortium front man Dato Chan Tien Ghee named as successor to chairman Peter Ridsdale, whose ends five-year reign came to an end.

At the same time Cardiff shareholders agreed to appoint Paul Guy, U-Juin Tan and Michael Isaac as non executive directors to the board alongside Steve Borley and Alan Whiteley. Meanwhile Alan Flitcroft and Keith Harris followed Ridsdale in stepping down as directors.

A judge had warned that if the full £1.9m was not paid, the club was likely to be wound up.

But HMRC instead asked for an adjournment to give Cardiff City more time to settle the debt, which has now been paid.
