OK KEEP THE MONEY BUT HAVE A HEART FOR......

IT was reported by Malaysiakini that the 4 Methodist Churches will not return the money they received on the eve of the Sibu buy election. One of the pastors even breathed fire and brimstone on a blog that encouraged otherwise.

OK lah, keep the money if your CONSCIENCE is clear and be happy but you can also make others happy. Wasn't it Jesus the Christ who said: Whatever you do to these my brethren, you do it to me.

...AND WHY DON'T
THE FOUR OF YOU PASTORS
CHOOSE ISAIAH 1:23
Your leaders are rebels, the companions of thieves. All of them love bribes and demand payoffs, but they refuse to defend the cause of orphans or fight for the rights of widows.

THIS SURE IS AN APPROPRIATE THEME
FOR THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE.

NAJIB WOULD BE HAPPY IF YOU FOUR
COULD TOLONG
THOSE SHACKS BELOW.

  4. Why give back? they are just following what the opposition have been advocating all along.. take whatever u can from BN but vote according to your conscience.

Don't knock the protestant churches please - as far as I know, a lot of pastors have been mobilising their congregations to register to vote and to actually vote.

  6. I am with you Bernard. The churches should realise that the funds promised were made with an intention that had corruption or bribe written all over it.

Anyway, the way Methodist churches operate it is not for the pastor to accept or reject. It would be the church council. Hope they see it better. Pastors ...well....will you know la.

  7. 1. Take the money and ensure it is expended for a good cause in the pursuit of your religious faith
    2. Take it but do not beholden to the donor/giver because it was transacted for a selfish motive to garner your votes during a by-election
    3. As rightly poined out, it's not so much the Government's money anyway. It comes from the taxes which was sourced from the rakyat.
    4. And if this donor is even more genereous the next time around, take more and vote with your conscience. You do not owe any favour in return. Gratitude does not work this way in such circumstances.

  8. Just keep the money to aid the hardcore poor and the underprivileged. It's afterall the people's, tax-payers' money not Najib's, Taib's, BN or UMNO's!

The contonese have a saying "kong tan dui sat kamcheng"

So its about money...Judas sold Jesus for a mere 30 pcs of silver.

We are all the same. Are we sold out for Jesus? i doubt

  10. I agree about keeping the money. After all, it may be the only opportunity to ever get funding for charitable projects.

So yes, I also agree that they should use it to alleviate poverty in their area.

    Hugs for you, Bernard! ;-)

  11. Most urban churches are filthy rich. However, theyoose to never choose to distribute their wealth to their rural counterparts.

  12. my dear man!
I too hv a HUGE bone to pick with the M's of this world!!!

Mostly I cant tolerate the hypocrisy of any religion...& believe that one should walk the walk esp when one chose that path!

seems like many now choses that path to "do as I say but not as I do"
In other words that "do unto others as you would hv others do unto you" bit - seems like that's ptui for the road fr 'em!

  13. We have heard many Christian Orang Asli settlement do not have a proper building for a church service. Maybe the money should be diverted there before these orang asli are 'converted' to the other religion.

  14. Why all the fuss huh?

Just take the money and say, "Thank you good people/tax-payers of Malaysia, you made it possible"!

Yeah if their political position was not threatened, think they will grant your requests? All those money will land deep of this corrupt regime!

  17. They the churches should say that they are keeping the funds under duress.
    Instead of given out excuses.
If not for the "buy election" none of them will get a single dime.
