IS SUPPort STRONG ENOUGH?

“The coming Sibu by-election is really a litmus test for the SUPP leadership – not on how much SUPP has done for Sibu, but how effective the party is able to represent the Chinese community,” said a former SUPP leader.

“The issue is not about Sibu being turned into a modern city equipped with first class infrastructures – that is the government’s duty to do, but we want to know how much SUPP can fight for the Chinese interests especially in terms of education and business opportunities.”

For sure, the “Dudong branch problem” will have some repercussions on the ongoing Sibu by-election.

For example, the notable absence of Soon, David Teng and leaders from the 28 branches, which are aligned to Soon in the involvement or preparation of the by-election is something that is worrying the BN leadership.

  2. I'm sure BN with santa claus in tow will go all out with their bags of goodies like they did in every elections conducted earlier.

Just hope the Sibu folks are mature enough to think for themselves.

The Melanau/Malay/Iban votes will be the deciding factor here should there be a split amongst the Chinese votes.

Uncle Zorro, I hope you enjoy the stay in Sibu.

  3. Zorro, sometimes i got so scared that i really do not want to get involved in this Sibu's by-election.

I just cant trust the Chinese, the selfish lot...

Abt the natives, they are just too naive...

I have "no eye see" lest i will be heart broken again like Ulu Selangor's.

We can only fight BN if all the non Malays are united... Look at the Indians now, blowing hot and cold at the same time.

Sometimes, i was thinking if the non Malays want to die, let them la...

Take care Zorro and God bless you !!!

  4. Huat Chai....I can understand your sentiments. Things here are different from Peninsular. Ten years ago, people were afraid to attend DAP ceremahs. Today, they pay for any DAP dinner/ceremahs. The Malays here are afraid to come to PAS ceremahs...they stand by the roadside and listen from a distance. This is Sibu today.
Things have changed in the Peninsular and things will CHANGE in Sarawak if we keep focused and move on positively. Keep well.
