DAP WIN WILL DEPEND ON THE YOUNG?

I have been to various ceremahs, walkabouts and Press Conferences. Ceramahs have their their rightful place during campaigns, Press Conference deal with day to day campaign programs or to refute opponents’ allegations and walkabouts are meet the people session. Except for ceremahs, the youths are at work. Ceremah time always conflict with the youths evening programs that revolve around dinner or just hanging out with their peers.

BUT NONE OF THESE ARE TARGETED AT THE YOUNG. AS SUCH WE MAY PAY DEARLY FOR THIS NEGLECT. YOUTHS HAVE THEIR INTERESTS AND WE TAKE FOR GRANTED THAT THAT THEY ARE APOLITICAL AND WONT MATTER IN THIS EQUATION, BESIDES ENCOURAGING THEM TO COME BACK TO HOME-BASE TO VOTE.

DANG! IF ONLY SOMEONE THOUGHT ABOUT AN F.O.C ROCK CONCERT JUST FOR SIBU YOUTHS TONIGHT, WE MIGHT GET A GOOD TURNOUT OF YOUNG VOTERS TOMORROW MORNING.

ARE WE MISSING OUT SOMETHING OF GREAT IMPORT?

As I write this at the DAP Centre, in walks two youth.

MP Tony Pua (PJ Utara, MP Teo Nie Ching (MP Serdang) Lau Wee Ming, Rapel Son, MP Lim Chin Tong (Bukit Bendera.

They flew in this morning from Kuching to volunteer in this last lap of the campaign. Lau Wee Ming and his Iban friend Rapel Son could not get leave to come earlier. No, they had no sponsors for their flight from Kuching.

  2. Dear Bernard,

I am a fifty something Sarawakian and I am so touched by this relevation of yours that at least some our Kuching youths are willing to stand up for change at their own sacrifice. Wages in Sarawak are much lower compared to Semenanjung whilst consumer products cost much more, for example, I was shocked to find out today that a 30gm bottle of Avon Anew cream cost RM11.00 more than Semenanjung! That faced with such ringgit and sen issues, these 2 youths sacrificed their time and money to help out in Sibu speaks a lot for the current mood for change in Sarawak. You are right, Bernard, the effort should be targetted at the youths. Chinese youths are more affluent and harder to convince to leave their comfort zone; native youths need more encouragement to vote for change. I hope with your influence, PR can help Sarawak PR to target the youths. I still harbour the hope that I will live to see the corrupted BN booted out and the chance for PR to take governance; that my children will not be forced to migrate and that my husband and I will not be the last generation in our family to call Malaysia home.

  3. "...no sponsors..." ???

for CHANGE, we must have sponsors. soldiers can't fight on empty stomachs.

for those of you who reads and rants about issues raised by pakatan blogs, do your part i.e. $$$$.

it is reality. fuel and food need money. they can fight for you, for a better malaysia.

but please, donate a ringgit or two. najis is using your (rakyat's) money to bribe the voters anyway.

  4. The young people has the duty to educate their elderly parents not to believe the biased reports on mainstream media especially from RTM, Astro Awani, Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian, NST, TV3 ...

  6. Rapel, it was great meeting you. Malaysia needs youths like you who will make commitment. The country depends on people of your age. Get more of your friends to get committed to a new Sarawak in particular and a new Malaysia too. Thanks for contributing to this victory in Sibu. Give my regards to Lau Wee Ming.
