That's Mei Cher (sister) on the extreme left. That's Josephine Mary on my right. May did not want to be included as three in photo no good she believes. May is a 69 year old grandmum. She flew into Sibu from Kuantan to help in the campaign. She speaks no English and my Chinese is near kaput but we manage because the cause is the same.
Jospehine Mary, also a granma hails from Seremban. Both are DAP members. Jo was put in charge of the Postal votes and she grilled her agents such that they were the ones who prevented BN from stealing the votes from under our noses last Sunday. Her team detected discrepancies and smelt more than one rat.
Should there be another by election Pakatan must use this team of hers, or allow her to train your polling agents.
May is my cab mate every morning when we take a cab to the operations centre. In the cab she starts to campaign. On one occasion, from the tone and pace of her conversation, she was giving the cab driver an earful about voting for DAP. When she alights from the cab she reminds the cab driver about getting others to vote correctly. Once in the centre, she sweeps and does housekeeping of the centre but will never touch anything around our laptops. After folding the flyers for the day, she fills two plastic bags and she goes door to door, block to block and will be in time when the teams leave for the longhouses.
And who says grandmothers should be taking care of the grandkids! These two believe that the country needs them more!
Till our paths cross again, keep well grandmas.
My utmost salute to the 2 grannies and many thanks for the thousand votes which you 2 brought over to ensure the SIBU MIRACLE !
ReplyDeleteWish we could have more loving MALAYSIANS !

Great stuff. The passion, the commitment and self-sacrifices. These are the key elements that make DAP ticks. Glad the Sibu voters did not let them down.

Thumbs up for these two grandmas... they put to shame the younger ones who won't even lift a little finger to help make this country a better place... I am a DAP member too in Petaling Jaya and pass retirement age but still working... and these grandmas are an inspiration to us all... Hidup Pakatan! Next stop Putrajaya... and screw Umno big time in the next GE!

ReplyDeleteDear Zorro,
ReplyDelete1.Who say they are grandmothers ?
2.Nay, they are angels, our angels.
Thank you.
Uncle Zorro,
ReplyDeleteThe two passionate ladies are our own version of The Golden Girls. Never too old to help make this country a better one for all Malaysians.
Nice shirt. That's the theme DAP took in extreme in sibu to win Chinese votes, right? See how the votes racially divide.
ReplyDeleteThank u grandmas...!
ReplyDeleteWe need more people like them when GE13 comes.
If they can smell rats, can you all imagine how BIG the smell will come then.....????
Those non-Muslim members in PAS are Pakatan Rakyat's 1Malaysia. I encourage Muslims to join DAP too, and in so doing, all will coalesce into one platform. The participation of non-Muslims in PAS - and by Muslims in DAP - will be a catalytic process which can bring unity and better understanding.
ReplyDeletePKR is already multi-racial, so now PAS and DAP should follow. Together we can bring about reform.
Jo is my mother and grandmother to my kids. We are very proud of her for standing up to what she believes in. She is an awesome mother and grandmother. Thanks for highlighting her in your article.

ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl, so also your kids. In fact your mum read out to me the mothers' day message your sis-in-law texted her that Sunday morning. That made her day.
Jo, here is a link I promised you in your effort at voter registration:
ReplyDeletehttp://dosomethingepic.net
These are all young people who initiate this. Their goal is 2million new registered voters by December. Go to the above site and hit on all their banners. Its helpful. You and Seremban can effectively contribute. Seremban can!
Don't stop cos' you show what Malaysian should be. God bless
ReplyDeletesalute. :) for a better malaysia..
