HE WILL BE JUDGED BY HIS FIRST TASK.

"Alhamdulillah, I've never had that problem since the MACC was set up. As far as I know, there had been no calls at all to tell us to investigate someone or not to. It's important that we don't have to face such a problem," Abu Kassim told reporters recently, after delivering a speech on 'The Role and Responsibilities of the Business Sector in Combating Corruption' at the Prevention of Corruption in Corporate Sector Management seminar. “The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has never received a call from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak on corruption cases being investigated by the commission,” he continued.

Datuk Abu Kassim succeeds Ahmad Said as MACC numero uno. There has been calls for him to do some damage control. He doesn’t have to. With one act he will be vindicate MACC. Find out   how this former cabinet minister came to own these wheels.

IF HE SUCCEEDS WITHOUT TAKING TOO LONG,
TOYO WILL BE KACHANG PUTIH......OR PIECE OF CAKE.

  1. Don't place too much hope on this guy..he's just another barua and a barua is a barua is a barua.

If he's not a corrupted barua, he won't be appointed to head such a strategic agency. Probably he's a more zealous barua than the one he's replacing.

    THAT'S THE REALITY IN BOLEHLAND.

  2. Dear zorrro,

This IS Malaysia. When your name has a TITLE in front of it, you are EXPECTED to defend the gomen. And hence you are ENTITLED to DOUBLE-SPEAK!.

And you will not be questioned by the gomen!. In fact, it is a norm. And as a way out when cornered by the press, you can used this famous quote....and you will be DEFENDED too by those higher up in the Gomen...ie the POLITICIAN Ministers....just use this tagline....."I have been misquoted!'.....and you will be saved!

    Thank you!

    The MIND!!!

  7. The most prominent feature of Malaysian politics is this -
whomever sit or had sat in the Cabinet always come out so much richer. Many time richer than he/she before having been in the cabinet. During the times of Tun M, during the times of Tun Badawi and during the times of the present PM. And remember their salaries are not that exciting too. Does that say anything?

  10. These cars easily cost at least a total of rm5 million. But of course MACC's standard operating reply: No Case, because we are unaware of the cars and even if we are aware we have to form a special committee to look into allegations. The committee will take about 100 years to complete their probe. If there is a case, we will take another 100 years to bring the alleged culprit to court. Sentencing, if the accused is found guilty, will take another 100 years. If found guilty, the accused can appeal, and that itself will take another 100 years. MACC, you are wonderful. You make me vomit.

  12. May the spirit of Teoh Beng Hock that now roams the corridors of MACC Shah Alam put great fear into Abu Kassim's heart and that he will do what needs to be done to reveal the truth not just on the immediate perpetrators but also on those who walks the Corridors of Power behind Teoh's tragic death (esp. Tempe Face). Justice will prevail!

I dont quite get it. Who are the owners of these cars.
    (1) Is it Ahmad Said or Abu Kasim?
    (2) Either way, it is surprising a government servant can afford to buy such luxurious vehicles

  15. Dear Zorro,

Are we putting on too much hope on this chap? As far as we know, the power that be would not put someone untainted in that supposedly all powerful position, lest he be a loose cannon. He has to have some kind of skeleton in his cupboard.

  16. Z,

I do not see any difficulty for MACC to go after this former minister since she is currently "out of favour" from the present great leader. With that, Abu Kassim can easily meet your first KPI (if the green light is given).

I would rather put his 1st KPIs' on 2 things: to get the truth on PI Bala's accusation on Deepak's alledged million ringgit bribery for Bala to shut up and to go after NS MB's alledged money laundering scheme via money changer by way of UK.

If Abu kassim can get to the bottom of these 2, then he deserve the MACC's commissioner's post.

  18. It appears that this latest fiasco involving a RM 25 Million 'incentive' given by the BN/Umno regime to AirAsia to settle AirAsia's arrears with Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd. has resulted in MCA pointing its finger at the Ministry of Finance for this latest fiasco as Umno on the other hand is pointing its fingers at MCA's Ong Tee Keat who is also Transport Minister. 19. Zorro,

There is more than sufficient evidence in broad daylight for any self respecting, independent and intelligent anti-corruption agency in any decent country to look into the "unexplained" wealth of it's civil servants (which includes ministers) and politicians.

However this is 1Malaysia where there are 3 sets of standards: 1st set for 1UMNO who are above the laws, 2nd set for "Ketuanan Melayu" practitioners and 3rd set for non-malays, aka, pendatangs like you and me.

We are hoping against hope that this new 1MACC guy Abu Kassim will be different from the previous child-porno condoning Ahmad Said. Nothing will change in 1MACC.....it's still the same stage, same script, sane director (1Najib, of course) but just a different actor.

Our only hope is for a new government to take over and give the new government a chance to walk the talk.

  20. Anon210pm....Despair is a defeatist word. It means we give up. It means we have had enough and will not continue the struggle for a change in this country. We need to take back our country and only the GE13 is our next avenue. The least you and I can do is to ensure that our friends are registered to vote. Preach this and work towards this rather than despair.I am with you all.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Fully agree with Z on Anon210pm. We/Everyone should move forward and be counted. Register anyone you know, preach on umno/bn's corruptions, racist and arrogant ways. We should only despair if we knew that it's wrong and we sat and do nothing about it, then you should despair. We should start now.

  22. We need not take this guy seriously, it is all the same, just talk only but no action. If he is truly honest he would have resigned long ago at what is MACC has been doing. From that we can deduce the quality of people.

  27. His first order of the day will pursue the facts from the blogs. Immediately it will reflect where he stands. No further explanations required. There are so many leads to follow, if, if and if he wants to execute them. Its so direct and simple. Want or NOT.

  28. This is what Ahmad Said is quoted as saying in The Star, "“Teoh Beng Hock’s case is nothing. It is a very small case. We have handled much bigger cases.’’

For Kassim's sake I hope he holds a different view. After all if his priority is to raise the perception and reputation of the MACC he should know that the voluntary admission that Teoh was killed would do a lot more to improve the reputation than being found to be the cause of the murder of Teoh by the coroner's verdict!

  29. Everytime Ahmad Said closes his eyes the Vision of Teoh Beng Hock
appears in his mind, Abu Kassim too will suffer the same faith.

  33. Khun Pana aka johanssm,

As usual, zorro never really checks his source.

Very easy to check the owners of cars. there are plenty of runners out there that can do a quick search.

remember a while ago about about how he defended his post on "Mugabe" villa, which later really turn out to be false. In fact there are clear clues in the photo that zorro and dozens others failed to spot.

"cabinet minister" ....you need spelling it out. Some people are unfortunate to be born with speech impediment whilst some become dumb mentally when bred in a controlled environment. These normally do not understand what probing means. Kapeesh!
