  2. 2nd and 3rd picture seems like transmitter/receiver units....maybe they try to braodcast video image to RTM uhf/vhf antenna for latest news or trying to listen you guys talking

  3. From the picture it doesn't appear to be a parabolic dish with microphone for directional/distance listening. If "they" want to listen in, there are easier ways to bug or plant.

The equipment on top of the van looks like a microwave repeater for radio or television live broadcast signal relay. Need to see what and where it is pointing at to establish the chain, though.

I can understand the suspicion as the crew setting it up sure looks like they are NOT from Penyiaran :) Not unless they now have a crewcut requirement.

The standalone portable tower on the top pic appears to be a temporary base station for one of the cellular networks. This can be seen in places/events where unusually high traffic is expected.

Conspiracy theorists will of course argue that it is less innocuous than it appears.

Just my dua sen. I am a licensed ham radio operator, btw.

  4. jibam is correct.
    Those are not eavesdropping devices.
It looks more like a U Band mobile transmitter to relay signals to a home station.(radio broadcast)
The top photo showed a CB mobile antenna.
Maybe rtm will do a live radio broadcast.

  9. When you have bad motives, you see harmless things as bad.
    Stop the myopic thinking.
    What do you want?
    Your PKR is in shambles.
    Don't blame others.
    Go for IMalaysia.
    You are enjoying governmen pension.
    But you are talking rots.
You hate Islam and the Malays.
You are only supporting PAS for DAP.
    You are a masked man.
From day one I knew you were up to no good.
Stop fooling those who believed you.
    Which is 0.01 per cent.

  10. Unless, they are meant to create suspicions, I am sure there are better and more covert methods of spying.

Bungling by government and/or BN agents are probably due to poor quality staff, inadequate training, or done deliberately because of any of a myriad of reasons, and we all know why some prosecution cases failed for reasons best known to themselves.

  11. Ah-haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, got you there. I do not have government pension. I left the service after 19 years. Me masked? You cannot be named Ah-ha! Why don't I buy you breakfast, lunch or dinner and you can hold my hands, look at each other eyeball to eyeball and know me better instead of surmising. You are not stupid right?

  12. Anon819....probably after so long your slingshot may have lost its elasticity. The birds in my condo unit sing every morning....and why do we need a slingshot for listening. Maybe you are not fully awake at 8:19am. By the way, I am more into archaeology...too many things to dig up, no? Anyway thanks for the invite.

  13. Thanks Terrence, that was great help. Were you at the recent HAM convention in Korea. When are we fishing again? Great pics, those shah alam zombies. Zombie damsels appeared too attractive.

  14. Guys,

I will always treat that kind of thing with great suspicion. With present day technollogies, any of those thing can be turned into a covert operation under disguise of an overt operation. We call that deception. With a "passive beaming device" hidden on top of the pole and directed at the target, you can eavesdrop on any conversation at that DAP HQ.

From now on DAP needs that Electronic Sweeping Device, trust me, they will be surprised to learn their place is bugged with more than just phone tapping.

Our Military Intelligence people have it, and MACC too.

  15. We have several meeting rooms in our office where often very highly sensitive secrets are discussed. To frustrate people from listening, 2 different songs will be played together on 2 CD players near the door & windows while meeting is in progress.

  16. That device or gadget looks more like a different band from the public telco setups but probably for the same purpose. RTM will not broadcast anything of this sort!

International telecommunication agreements leave a sort of "free band" for governments to use for their snooping purposes. This would be an instance for the purported deployment.

From all the comments for and against the BN government, its good to hear!

What is obvious is the UMNO/BN is so paranoid that with all the Police and the Army at their disposal, the thing most in Malaysian minds is the ultimate out of this charade - the declaration of emergency. They've done it before and its no secret!

    Will they do it again?

    .enjit semut.

  17. BTW, the cables for the gadget, at the base of the pole, in the 1st pix are so exposed, they're inviting you to cut them!

This gadget could well do what it really is there for - to frighten you guys to shit yourself off!

  19. Dear Zorro,

    The last pic.....tell-tale signs:

    1. White Van with parabolic dish
    crewcut personnel.
    2. Jabatan Penyiaran Malaysia.

Parked Across the road - 1 Blue Police truck and another white van in front of truck.

Could be a Police Comms Control Center system with link inside the audio room in DUN building.

Instant linkup with the forces outside the building.

  20. Bernard,
None of them belongs to the Police SB or Signal Unit. They are civilian antenna in civilian vehicles. The tall one, 1st in the picture, is called a step-up and is a good one. Its for transmission of attenuated waves for HF.
The police is not eavesdropping on anybody. They have agents to do it. More efficient.
The frequency receiver/searcher is messy. You get the whole neighborhood yadda, yadda yadda into your receiver.
The agent handlers with never be seen or known to you and I.
