I just received this SMS from TV Smith of mycen.com. It read: Hi blogging friends. If you can please embed the Pulau Ketam dogs' appeal on your blog. The poor animals need every help.
It is not that TV is a very good friend.....it is because HE was there. Earlier, Malaysiakini did a story on the abundance of strays in Pulau Ketam. TV accompanied the Furry Friends, animal activits to Pulau Ketam.
Go to MyCen for the full story and view those telling photographs, poignantly captured, as only TV Smith can.
ANTARES too did a story on these marooned strays HERE.
Thanks for helping spread the word, Zorro. The measure of a civilized society is the compassion - or utter lack thereof - with which immigrants (legal or otherwise) & stray dogs are treated. As a Malaysian I'm forced to hang my head in shame. Change will only come with a new management!
ReplyDeleteYou should ask who put them there in the first place? We should not help the dogs. We should instead raise funds to help eliminate the people who put them there. When there are no longer such people around, the dogs will also no longer be on the island too, no?
ReplyDeletezorro pls let us know how we can donate .Someone said how we treat animals is a reflection of how civilised we are. True and sad...
ReplyDeletezorro, move to Pulau Ketam and live with those dogs.. at least everytime you barks, 'someone' will bark with you!
ReplyDeleteAnon2:05am....the last sentence in the poster answers you.
ReplyDeletePiMai2.....cannot lah...I have to be around here to control the barking like yours and also to check the poor English barked...."everytime you barks"....check your grammar if you wish to comment here....now be a good pup and go yelp somewhere....and go collect your .20sen per bark reward from your master.....schoo...schoo...
Zorro,
ReplyDeleteWhat can we do....???
Anon9:15am....I gave the answer above.
ReplyDeleteIf man is not to stifle his human feelings, he must practice kindness towards animals, for he who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.
ReplyDeleteImmanuel Kant (1724 - 1804)
Thanks for the info. Will do a transfer immediately via cimbclicks to Furry Friends Farm.
Syabas GREG!
ReplyDeleteIt was Mahatma Gandhi who said: "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
ReplyDeleteIn Bolehland, dogphobia is a practice shared in common by those in the government as well as those in the opposition even though Prophet Muhammad is known for his kindness to dogs.
It is time for those in Bolehland to wake up to realize that this nation cannot be great as no one can really be considerate to his or her fellow unless he or she can first show consideration for helpless animals.

pimai2, pls lah right in malay oso we r understanding one : dun simply barks at zorrow , our unmasked hero !
ReplyDeletei-kopi !
the people behind the decision to put the dogs there, should be also send along and forced to fend for themselves for a month.. then, and if there are not dead, beaten and put in jail for crimes against humanity!
ReplyDeletewhat can i do to help?
my family donated 50 so far, if my mom have extra bucks she'll donate more.
ReplyDeletetuition teacher donated RM 50 also
friend donated RM 20.
They need more funds, please, to anyone who are reading this message, i beg you, even the smallest amount of money helps :(
Sadly it is MPK that is responsible for this terrible cruelty to the dogs. Many have commented that "They're only dogs," - what they fail to realise is that the dogs are just a metaphor for the voiceless and helpless. It can happen to any group where there is no one to speak up for them.
ReplyDeleteI've written to my MP. He hasn't bothered to respond but he has plenty of time to post on his blog and respond to sycophantic admirers.
Please check out my Facebook group Boycott Pulau Ketam. Thank you.
