TWO JOES BY ONE JOE.

I am feeling good by the day about Batang Ai.

This morning,
Johnny Chuat, an Iban blogger and publisher of an Iban magazine, who entererd the nomination centre at about 9am failed to submit his papers as an independent.

Coming out of the centre, he wore a PKR shirt and met his supporters, telling them to support Jawah Gerang.

Late last week Jawah’s former BN colleague banded together and pledged support for him.

Broken Shield's Joe "Jetty" Tawei report posted today gives one the impression, that some TUAI RUMAH'S, long in the strangle-hold of Iban BN cronies of the TERMITE, is standing up and saying "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

Joe's take:

  1. A BN gathering at Kaong

    Joseph Entulu, PRS deputy president and Joseph Salang, PRS information chief, last night campaigned at Rumah Ambau, Kaong for their candidate Malcolm Mussen.

    Like in any other longhouses, Tuai Rumah Ambau, while welcoming the two deputy ministers, called on his people not to vote for the BN candidate and told them why.

    Several people tried to stop him talking, but he continued talking and repeated what he said “don’t vote for BN candidate.” The two deputy ministers were clearly not amused, but strong supporters of BN were stunned.

    Others (perhaps PKR supporters) smiled. Even if the Tuai Rumah did not make a genuine mistake, the damage has been done.

+++++

more a slap in the face than a kick in the ass, yes?

  5. It's good to see so many well educated Dayaks supporting PR by their physical presence in Batang Ai and also by spreading their support through blogging. This bodes well for the opposition. Even if the opposition is to lose this one against all the Maggi mee and the millions in bribes by BN, all is not lost. This election if anything, will provide the impetus for the opposition to make itself known to all the Dayaks in the whole Sarawak which is critical for the coming general election in Sarawak. It takes time to convince the longhouse dwellers so the time factor might not be to PR advantage this time round. I hope I'm proven wrong and PR will triumphant in this one.

  8. The SPR only took into consideration the UMNO meeting dates, they overlook the Qing Ming. The will surely die standing when Altantuya and the rest turn up at their ceramah! I can't imagine how horrible it will when they meet headless hunters in Batang Ai and the bits and pieces of Altantuya...

  9. The Dayaks and Ibans must be reminded to unite together. They have been unable to stand together for too long, and enabled the BN government to screw them for over 30 years.
