RATS! I DIDN'T GO A-FISHING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT!

OK, you are wondering why I stayed in last night. Fact is I have not been doing what I religiously do on Saturday and Sunday nights....watch MU skin hides or watch hopefully (if MU is not on) Stoke City to keep company with Rocky and Cendana287. But it was not to be....no EPL....so instead of trawling at the Wharf, I trawled the net and came upon this threat to ISA RPK. This was bad. I need malts bad....have to head for the Wharf..... but before that I decided to visit Knight Templar and saw this piece (here).....a UniversityTun Hussein Onn's graduate preface to "A Dummy's Guide on how not to write good English." I got a bad hangover reading that crap that I believe NST apologised for letting thru. I decided to stay in to tide over this hangover.Blurr Botak should ISA this bloke for instulting royalty.

This morning, I thought I will get this graduate to do a piece on Al-Blurr, but good sense prevailed and I remember that a picture paints better English than graduates paying tribute to a royalty....did anyone notice how he got his gender mixed up. I realised it on reading the same at Patricia's English Cottage (here).

People. My pictorial take on RATS

  2. Hardly surprising, given that mission schools were closed down and English lessons were reduced drastically. We have the Ministers of Education from Umno to thank for this!!

Just don't know where or how to even start correcting this piece. It is destinated for the rubbish bin.Wonder if the princess will feel offended?

If RPK is deem as having insulted Islam and should be ISAed,how about the fella who wrote this piece, for having insulted the beautiful English language?Should he/she be charged too?

As for the pics, what a gallery! Can't digest all at one go!

  6. You guys miss the point. This is English undergoing through the Malaysian style of evolutionary process. It has now reached that perfect status for all others to emulate. The best of the very best English teachers and professors from England need to learn soemething from the Malaysian standard. Unique, flowery and perfect in the gutter sense. Why do the Government promote the 'Malaysia Boleh' catchphrase? Simply because we have nothing else to show except for our English.

  10. bernard check this out, http://margeemar.blogspot.com/2008/09/real-reason-why-pm-badawi-doesnt-want.html

the reason why badawi is not taking action against the warlord ahmad al biadap,
    excrept from the article

This Scribe was curious as to why the BN/Umno leadership were so afraid to take action against Ahamd Ismail for his deditious remark. After doing a Sherlock Holmes, this Scribe begin to get the big picture. It appears that Ahmad Ismail is a big time Umno warlord in Penang.
Ahmad Ismail was cleared of bankruptcy by the Insolvency Department in 2006. Ahmad Ismail is the figure linked to the controversial PORR project in Penang. He is the director of Peninsular Metroworks Sdn. Bhd., the concessionaire for the project. Ahmad is an influential Umno divisional leader and former Penang Chief Minister Koh Tsu Koon was beholden to him for support. That was why Koh was powerless when Ahmad Ismail a mere Umno division leader could wield so much influence over him and accused him of not paying attention to the Malays in Penang. The CM’s former constituency of Tanjong Bungah happens to be in the Bukit Bendera division.

It gets more interesting here, The Scribe discovered that PM Abdullah Badawi was named as a director of Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang, who owns 34% of the PMW share via two wholly-owned companies, Kumpulan Pinang and Kumpulan Perhubungan. Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi is linked to the Penang Outer Ring Road (PORR) project’s concessionaire company, Peninsular Metroworks Sdn. Bhd. (PMW) According to corporate information obtained from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Abdullah (I.C. No.391126-07-5077) was first appointed director of the Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang Sdn. Bhd. His name is still listed as a director.Yayasan Bumiputra now controls 34.78 percent of PMW through its two subsidiary companies; Kumpulan Pinang Holding Sdn. Bhd. and Kumpulan Perhubungan Sdn. Bhd.

This was a result of restructuring of the ownership equity in PMW. The shareholders areas follows:
Kumpulan Pinang Holding Sdn. Bhd. (222310-D) 10,000 share

Lingkaran Tanjung Sdn. Bhd. (676910-W) 340,000 share

    Setegap Berhad (107232-X) 12,750 share

Kumpulan Perhubungan Sdn. Bhd. (60597-A) 1,190,000 share

Nadi Senandung Sdn. Bhd. (381079-U) 1,897,250 share

Setegap Berhad is a construction company listed on Bursa Malaysia.Lingkaran Tanjung (formerly known as Jasminata Sdn. Bhd) was registered on 30.12.2004 and its registered address is at Suite 2.01, Tingkat 2, Wisma K.P.Loh, No 42 Jalan Besar, Kajang, Selangor. There is no information on the nature of its business and its financial standing. Sources said the directors are related to Datuk Ahmad Ismail.

Major shareholder, Nadi Senandung is principally controlled by Datuk Ahmad Ismail via a dormant company, Cedar Heights Sdn. Bhd. (267289-U). From the web of ownership structure and list of directors, it has confirmed DAP’s allegation that the PORR project is a classic example of Umno’s crony capitalism. Peninsular Metro-Works Sdn Bhd, would be given not just the profitable toll collection for 30-years, but also properties belonging to Penangites amounting to 31 hectares of prime Penang State land (why?). It would also gained 202 hectares of reclaimed land off Gurney Drive. The value of the total package? It’s approximately RM5 billion, not just the RM2 billion we’ve been led to believe.

Nadi group's power structure: Dato Haji Ahmad Bin Ismail > Goh & Foo >> Loo or Chua. If the PORR concession is awarded to PMWSB, Nadi which controls 54.5% of PMWSB will effectively control the Board and the PORR project. But Cedar's Board will make the decisions, because Cedar controls 85% of Nadi. Cedar, in turn, is controlled by Dato Haji Ahmad Bin Ismail (30%), City (29.3%), and Nagasari (20%). Among these three Cedar shareholders, Dato Haji Ahmad Bin Ismail holds the largest power because, if disagreement arises, he only has to forge an alliance or agreement with either one of City or Nagasari to exceed 50% voting rights (To be precise, In the case of an alliance with Nagasari he will need another two shares).

In contrast, if either of City or Nagasari disagrees with him, each will need two other alliances, including one major shareholder, to reach 50% voting rights. Between the last two, City is far more powerful than Nagasari, because of its 29.3% vs Nagasari's 20%, but also because the latter's shareholders are split into two equal-weight of 47.5% (Loo and Chua), while City is owned by Goh and Foo of the same address, which is assumed to mean close relations or associates who would be expected to vote together. City's two major shareholders are also directors at Cedar.

It doesn't matter that the total attributable stake to Dato Haji Ahmad Bin Ismail (13.9%) is smaller than to Goh Choon Aun and Foo Quin Yar (together 21.2%), or Setegap's 25.5%, or KPHSB's 20%. Simply because Cedar will dominate the Board of Nadi, which will dominate the Board of PMWSB, those who dominate Cedar will hold sway.

The State and Federal civil servants will have to answer the questions: How do you expect 20%-shareholder KPHSB to play a more useful role in the financially much more demanding PORR project and Peninsular Metro-Works Sdn Bhd, considering KPHSB's apparent inability to contribute to Jelutong Expressway? And if there is a high risk that Peninsular Metro-Works Sdn Bhd will not be adequately supported by its financially weak shareholders, why should PMWSB be awarded the PORR concession, particularly without an open, competitive bidding process?

That's the reason why PM Badawi, Najib and the rest of the BN/Umno leadership are just giving Ahmad Ismail a slap on the wrist over this seditious remark. Don't be surprised if Liow Tiong Lai, Ong Ka Ting, Ong Ka Chuan Ng Yen Yen, Chor Chee Heung, Koh Tsu Koon, Chia Kwang Chye et al will come and say to the Chinese community to accept Najib's and Umno's apology while heaping praises on the Umno leadership for their 'courage' in apologizing.

  14. cute altraman boy: Wharf is short for Fisherman's Wharf in Taman Desa and not San Francisco. It is a watering hole as in public place as in pub where men and women alchemist turn beer, whisky, cognac, wine and single malts into piss at certain intervals. Fun place too where the Barisan Rakyat Bloggers congregate and commune spiritually.

DelCapo: thanks for your company at the launch.

  15. Taiwan Pineapple:

Hi Zorro, my comments is out of the topic.

I would like to comment on the 41 MPs going to do 'study trip on agriculture'.

The reason they are in Taiwan is to visit those PAPAYA farms there. They will be brought there on arrival by their Taiwan contacts there.

Hope you could post those posters that you usually do on this theme. Then bloggers and readers will get the true picture !

    Cheers !

Don't be like American Jews, Chinese told - Malaysiakini Sep 8,2008
Penang Umno leader Ahmad Ismail, the man at the centre of the ‘racial slur' controversy, warned Chinese Malaysians not to mimic American Jews who not only seek to control the country's economy but also its political power.

In an explosive 50-minute press conference, Ahmad who claimed time and again that he was not a racist, vowed that he would
not apologise for his remarks which sparked the controversy."While it is not difficult to say sorry - for the sake of my Malay dignity, I resolve not to apologise no matter what others may say. I am willing to take the risk (for not doing so)," he said in a 14-page statement.

The press conference, which was held at the Penang Umno headquarters this afternoon, ended with shouts of ‘Hidup Melayu' from about 50 local party leaders who were there. Soon after the event, former Penang Umno committee member Zainol Abidin Hashim, with the help from his colleagues pulled down the photo of Gerakan acting president Dr Koh Tsu Koon which adorned one of the walls in the party headquarters.Koh's picture frame, which sat next to the photos of the Penang governor and his wife, was subsequently smashed. As the glass broke into pieces, Zainol removed Koh's photo from the frame and tore it into half.Koh, who is former Penang chief minister, has been trading barbs with Ahmad, the Bukit Bendera Umno division chief, over the issue.

Earlier, Ahmad told the minority Chinese not to go overboard in hurting the feelings of the Malays and Muslims."I want them to know, I want them to take this as a warning from the Malays. Malays and Muslims have been provoked many times. We have been patient because we want to maintain stability in the country," he said."Remember! The patience of Malays and Muslims has its limits. Do not push us to the wall, where we will be forced to reject the Chinese for the sake of our survival. "If what I say sounds too strong for BN, take this as a warning from the Malays and Muslims as this has nothing to do with Umno. Do not pressure Umno leaders until they are caught in a dilemma."

He then sounded a dire warning to Koh and Gerakan."I want Koh Tsu Koon and Gerakan to take responsibility for whatever untoward incidents that could happen in this country of ours." Ahmad also called upon BN leaders to "kick Gerakan out" from the ruling coalition.

The Bukit Bendera Umno chief said that he was asked by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to hold "another press conference".Ahmad previously held a press conference last Friday in which he reiterated that he would not apologise for his remarks. Abdullah, who had earlier told the powerful local Umno leader to do so, was silent on the issue the next day when he met with Penang Umno leaders, including Ahmad. Ahmad, who was backed by all 13 Umno divisions in Penang - Abdullah's home state - thanked the prime minister for his "understanding".The controversy erupted after Ahmad had allegedly said that the "Chinese were immigrants squatting in this country" at a ceramah during the recent Permatang Pauh by-election campaign. The speech caused Ahmad to come under heavy fire from Chinese-based political parties, particularly from Umno's allies MCA and Gerakan over the past two weeks. A spate of police reports were also lodged against the Umno division leader.
Ahmad nevertheless argued that his remark was taken out of context by Chinese-language Sin Chew Daily as he was referring to historical events.

At the press conference, Ahmad also urged the different states to hold a gathering of the whole ummah (Muslim community).
"Let us not let it go to waste as the flames of anger among Malays and Muslims has reached new heights. Let us take embrace this anger and come together as Malays and Muslims throughout the land so that we can turn the voices of the Malays into one that will unite all Malays and Muslims into one single movement."

In an immediate reaction, both Abdullah and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak are expected to meet Ahmad tomorrow. It is believed that action could be taken against the Umno leader.
